Hibs 2-2 Kilmarnock: Brannan screamer completes fight back
Hibs boss David Gray made three changes to the side that started Thursday's 2-0 away win over Partizan Belgrade as Jack Iredale, Chris Cadden and Martin Boyle dropped to the bench.
Scotland defender Grant Hanley was given his debut and Youan, having recovered from long-term injury, made his first start since the Boxing Day win at Hearts, while Junior Hoilett was restored.
There were also three changes to the Killie team that kicked off the campaign with a 2-2 draw against Livingston as Robbie Deas, Rory McKenzie and debutant defender Ethan Brown replaced Brad Lyons, George Stanger and Tom Lowery.
Hibs started strongly, with Hoilett shooting just wide after a brilliant piece of skill on the edge of box.

At the other end, Marcus Dackers glanced a header wide from Brannan's cross.
The hosts made the breakthrough in the 20th minute when Jamie McGrath's fizzed a powerful free-kick from the left towards Bushiri at the back post and the defender powered home his header from close range.
The Hibees doubled their lead seven minutes later when Hoilett sent Youan clean through and the forward fired past Max Stryjek from 10 yards for his first goal since netting away to Aberdeen the weekend before Christmas.
The Edinburgh side looked to be coasting and Josh Mulligan almost added a third when he drove into box and sent an angled shot just beyond the far post.
But Killie, having been on the back foot for most of the first half, got themselves back in the game in the 45th minute when Polworth forced home a shot from seven yards after excellent work on the left by Dackers to set him up.
The visitors signalled their renewed intent when Dackers went close with a header less than a minute into the second period.
And they drew level in the 48th minute when Brannan unleashed a sensational dipping volley from 25 yards that looped over Jordan Smith after Polworth's corner from the right had been headed out by Hoilett.

David Gray praises players' character after Play-Off qualification
Hibs head coach David Gray praised his players' character as they progressed into the UEFA Conference League Play-Off Round. Hibs had to go through extra-time, once again, bt this time over-came a tough, talented FK Partizan side. After the final whistle Gray said: 'I'm delighted for everyone involved. The game will take a long time to analyse and go over. 'I thought we started the game really well, our shape was good, and we had the best chances in the first half. We knew they'd come after us, but then after a couple of mistakes we found ourselves 2-0 down. 'Half-time came at a good time for us. We got the players in and calmed them down a bit. The question I asked them was all about mentality and the character of the group. 'A lot of people spoke about the importance of the first goal of the game, but to then find ourselves 2-0 down takes huge character. Credit to the players to deliver the performance they did. The effort from every player was there for everyone to see, which was fantastic. 'Again, we were pegged back in the very last second of 90 minutes, thinking we'd won the tie. My job is to improve the players and there were moments we could've managed the game better, but the character was tested again, and we came back strong in the second half. 'The most important thing now is we're in the next round; it's an incredible achievement to beat a team like that. It takes some doing.' Kieron Bowie again stole the headlines – scoring arguably the goal of the season – and putting in a mammoth performance up top. 'If you take the goal out of it and analyse his performance, he was fantastic. He was everything you want from him, he led the line really strongly, held the ball up, and had unbelievable work ethic. The effort every player put into the game was incredible. 'His goal was fitting to win the tie in 90 minutes, but again the players were tested again. 'Even towards the end of the game, Kieron was running of fumes, but he was so important the way he was playing. It's a really good group, who are delighted with what they've done.' Hibs youngster joins Southampton on permanent transfer
Hibs youngster Rory Whittaker has joined English Championship side Southampton on a permanent transfer. The terms for the 18-year-old's transfer will remain undisclosed. Whittaker wrote his name in the Hibs history books during the 2023/24 campaign, becoming the Club's youngest ever player. Aged 16 years old and 44 days, the young right-back made his senior debut in a win over St Johnstone at Easter Road, breaking Jamie McCluskey's record. During his time at the Club, Whittaker made 14 First Team appearances and helped Hibs' Under-18s win the CAS Elite U18 League last season. He also had a short spell on loan with Scottish League 2 side Spartans. Hibs Sporting Director, Malky Mackay, said: 'As always we have to make difficult decisions regarding our young players, taking into consideration their wishes, their development, their contractual status, and other details. 'There was a lot of interest in Rory from clubs down in England, and as he had a year left on his contract, we decided this was the right deal for Hibernian FC. 'Whilst the main aim for our Academy is to produce players for our own First Team, when a move like this comes up – it is difficult to deny a youngster that opportunity. 'We wish Rory all the best with him move, and thank him for all his hard work during his time at Hibernian FC.' Like this: Like Related

Celtic hit back at Livingston with brutal comeback after being trolled by Premiership rivals
We're only a few weeks into the season and already we have beef! BANTER BHOYS Celtic hit back at Livingston with brutal comeback after being trolled by Premiership rivals CELTIC and Livingston. The online Premiership sparring match that you didn't expect to see this season. 3 Celtic Park with the away section visible in the corner Credit: SNS Celtic are preparing to host the Livi Lions on Saturday August 23 in the league at Celtic Park. Ahead of the match, it's customary for the visiting team to post information about the stadium and notify their supporters of the matchday travel plans - and to alert them for when tickets go on sale. Livingston shared a post on Twitter (X) to let the fans know that tickets for the match went on sale on Thursday afternoon. They said: "Tickets for our trip to Glasgow against Celtic are now available to purchase. "Tickets are available to purchase from reception, & there will be no sales on the day at Celtic Park." However, the post included a picture of the infamous pole that restricts the away support's view at Celtic Park, something that didn't go unnoticed by fans. The not-so-subtle dig was also picked up by Celtic's supporter liaison officer, who responded with a jab of their own. They wrote: "You forgot to include Supporter Parking info," alongside a picture of a single empty parking space - suggesting that the Livi travelling support wouldn't be in high numbers. Livingston's admin took the comment in their stride however. They replied: "Thanks for indirectly providing it. Will pass it on to the fan for the four of them." FOUR new Celtic signings could be on the way but 'waiting game' could risk it all Other fans lapped up the interaction. A Rangers fan said: "Celtic being bodied again by Livingston is lovely stuff." While a Celtic fan said: "We need more of this nonsense in Scottish football tbh. Fair play lads. Hope we win 100-0 and send your carpet pitch back to the small time." 3 Livingston's original post on Twitter (X) Credit: LIVINGSTON FC/TWITTER (x) 3 And Celtic's reply...
