Soccer-Vasco keeper Jardim pays the price after dismissal for time-wasting
(Reuters) -Vasco de Gama goalkeeper Leo Jardim's late sending off for time-wasting against Internacional cost his side dear as they conceded in added time to draw 1-1 in Brazil's Serie A.
Jardim, booked earlier in the second half also for delaying the game, sat in front of goal after the ball went out for a goal kick and was shown a second yellow, the referee ignoring his gestures towards his stomach, possibly indicating injury.
Referee Flavio Rodrigues de Souza remained unmoved as the visiting Vasco players protested. Vasco were punished when Internacional then scored, missing out on a win due to a late equaliser for the second league game in a row at Porto Alegre.
The draw on Sunday leaves Vasco 16th in the standings, only above the bottom-four relegation zone spots on goal difference after winning four of their 15 league games so far.

Retegui spent just one season at Atalanta, signing from Genoa as a replacement for the injured Gianluca Scamacca, and went on to score 25 league goals to help the club to a third-place finish. The Argentine-born Retegui qualified to play for Italy through his grandparents and was called up by Roberto Mancini in 2023, scoring on his debut in a 2-1 defeat by England. The 26-year-old has six international goals in 20 appearances. Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the Saudi club on Thursday, having scored 21 goals in 36 matches in all competitions in his one season at Al-Qadsiah.

Napoli's Osimhen completes 75mln euro move to Galatasaray
ISTANBUL: Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on Thursday completed his permanent move to Turkish champions Galatasaray in a 75 million euro (US$87.5 million) four-year deal. A key figure in Napoli's 2023 title triumph, Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 26 goals in 30 league games as the Istanbul club claimed their 25th Super Lig crown. He was absent as Napoli, the freshly crowned Serie A champions, resumed training at the start of the week as the finer details of the deal were concluded. Napoli coach Antonio Conte seemingly did not have the 26-year-old in his plans for his side's Scudetto defence next term. Financial details of the transfer were not revealed by either club but British media reported Forest paid a fee of around 34 million pounds ($45 million) for the 24-year-old Switzerland international. Ndoye joined Bologna in August 2023 from Swiss side Basel for around 10 million euros ($11 million). He made 41 appearances for Bologna across all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and registering six assists. He scored the winning goal against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final, helping Bologna secure their first major trophy in 51 years. "It is a really exciting time at Forest and I knew straight away that I wanted to be a part of the project. It's a really ambitious team with a fantastic history and I can't wait to get started," Ndoye said.
