(WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has released the 2025 adult trout stocking schedule.
'Anticipation is already beginning to build for the many spring fishing opportunities just around the corner here in Pennsylvania, and every angler can benefit from knowing when their favorite stream or lake will be stocked with trout, starting in just a few weeks,' said Brian Niewinski, Director of the PFBC's Bureau of Hatcheries.
Preliminary 2025-26 hunting seasons approved; final approval expected in April
The schedule is searchable by county and lists waterways in alphabetical order.
If you're looking to volunteer to help stock trout, meeting locations are listed as well.
Statewide opening day for trout season is Saturday, April 5.
A single statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day is Saturday, March 29.
Stocking operations begin the week of Feb. 17. Anglers are reminded that in stocked trout waters, fishing is not permitted from Feb. 17 at 8 a.m. until opening day of trout season, unless they're included in the Year-Round Fishing program.
The Fish and Boat Commission plans to stop 3.2 Million adult trout in 691 streams and 130 lakes statewide.
The vast majority are Rainbow Trout, with 693,000 Brown Trout and 125,000 Brook Trout.

Boating restrictions placed on Conneaut Lake have been lifted

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced on Monday that the temporary boating restrictions on Conneaut Lake have been lifted. Those restrictions were put in place last week on Thursday. May 8. Families enjoyed Mother's Day on the lake thanks to Victorian Princess riverboat cruises At the time, boaters were asked to slow down to no-wake speeds due to high water levels. But after a few days, water levels have returned to normal, and boaters may now resume operating under standard regulations. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
