Viral kangaroo clip sends viewers into a crisis... but can YOU spot the problem?
If you've ever made fun of your Boomer parents for falling for an AI-generated video, you might be eating your words now.
That is because a video of a kangaroo holding a boarding pass, seemingly waiting to get on a plane, recently went viral.
Viewers were clamoring about how adorable and funny the video was - but now, the clip has sparked even wider ripples after people realized it was never real in the first place.
The kangaroo video was actually created by AI - and the internet is panicking in response to finding out that they were successfully tricked.
The original video was posted on Instagram by the account @infiniteunreality which posts odd and entertaining AI-generated videos.
Some of their other videos include a two-headed baby in a shopping cart, a dolphin sitting in an office chair watching TV, and the cast of Shrek in a hot tub as Donkey vomits green slime.
But by the time the kangaroo video found its way onto other platforms, social media users were unaware that it was fake or where it originally came from.
'Omg he's holding the boarding pass with his little kangaroo hands. That's the cutest thing I've ever seen,' one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote.
'I need to know this Kangaroos name!!' another said.
However, thanks to Grok - X's built-in AI search engine - people soon discovered the truth.
But when users did find out that the kangaroo had no name because it was in fact AI-generated, it sent them into a spin.
'I fell for the kangaroo AI video,' one user wrote, followed by a GIF of Bridgit Mendler transforming from a young woman into a senior citizen.
'THE KANGAROO HOLDING THE BOARDING PASS IS AI????' another user panicked, followed by a meme of Breaking Bad's Walter White falling to the ground.
Some users asserted that their inability to recognize that the video was AI was some sort of marker that they were getting older.
'The kangaroo plane video was f**king AI - I thought it was a skit but this is so much worse,' one user shared.
'I'm cooked as soon as I hit 30. They f**king got me'
People likened themselves to Boomers for falling for the video
'I fell for the airport kangaroo AI video, I am just as bad as a Boomer, if not worse! I will be publicly executed on TikTok live at 3pm PT today, please tune in,' another dramatically shared.
Others came down on themselves hard, asking themselves 'what was I thinking?'
Some were concerned about how quickly AI has progressed - and the potential dangers that could come from it being so advanced.
One user astutely pointed out: 'We've gotten to a point where people genuinely can't tell what is AI and what is not.'
But the overall, general consensus was that people might owe the Boomers in their lives an apology.
'With this video, the whole internet has become Boomers on Facebook,' an X user said.

A Washington woman has gone viral after being filmed almost completely submerged underwater while digging for a seafood delicacy. Amber Fauci, an Arizona native, dove head first into the sand during her first ever time hunting for geoduck clams. In a video demonstrating the process, Fauci is seen struggling to pull herself out of the hole in her attempt to catch the saltwater clam. Geoduck clams are the world's largest burrowing clam, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. On average, they reach just over two to two-and-a-half pounds - including the shell, and can live up to 150 years. The woman recording the video, Michelle Weaver, told Fox 13 that it's important to remain still and stay vigilant for water shooting out of the sand. 'So we dug out quite a bit of sand first, and you get to that point where you gotta reach deeper - and I'm short. I am five-foot-one, so I don't have really long arms, so I'm in there, and I saw that opportunity,' Fauci told the outlet. 'Anybody who's gotten their feet stuck [in the sand] knows how far it suctions you down. 'So I'm sitting there trying to pull myself up from the sand, and that's the struggle everybody thought was, "Oh my gosh, she's stuck." I wasn't stuck,' Fauci continued. 'But I knew the tide was coming up, and that's when I decided to come up. It was when the tide hit my nose. I didn't feel like holding my breath, so that was when I started struggling to come up.' Fauci emerged up, sand and water over her hand, before fellow diver, Tyler Weaver, grabbed the geoduck and pulled it from the sand near the end of the video. He said that after digging three to four feet deep, a geoduck diver has to move quickly before it gets away. They used a 'geoduck gun' that has been in Tyler's family for three generations of his family, the outlet reported. Michelle described the device as a 'glorified soup pot that has no bottom, that clearly can fit an entire human in it.' 'That helps from the water - from the tide coming in, or the sand falling in while you're trying to dig, because there's nothing like digging and then a whole pile of sand lands right where you just dug,' she said. Comments on the viral video were stunned by Fauci's dedicated hunting attempt. 'I'm sorry WHAT ma'am did you almost drown for a [geoduck]?' one said. 'Her moving around was scaring me like I was thinking she needed help and I'm like WHY ARE STANDING AROUND LAUGHING AT HER GET HER OUTTT but she good,' another said. One wrote: 'I didn't see the tube at first and thought she was just stuck in the sand and water. Didn't understand why everyone was so chill.' After their hunting efforts proved successful, the group took the geoducks and celebrated with clam and geoduck chowder. Michelle described Fauci as a 'legit badass' for her 'geoduck digging dedication.'

Meghan to speak as guest of honour at LA museum's Night of Wonder
The Duchess of Sussex will speak as the guest of honour at a museum's Night of Wonder in the US, as part of her work championing community wellbeing. Meghan will be joined by other high-profile guests at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, as the space is transformed into an enchanted nocturnal garden on June 14. The event will feature live music and installations representing local ecosystems and the LA landscape, and guests will be treated to a farm-to-table dinner that uses ingredients from the museum's nature gardens. The duchess's mission to advance community wellbeing and uplift young women 'dovetails with the museums' approach to connecting community and science by fostering meaningful educational experiences that empower young minds', the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan said. Among the programmes shared on the website of their charity, the Archewell Foundation, is The Welcome Project, where Meghan focuses on addressing 'the social isolation recently resettled women experience around the world and building more inclusive and connected communities'. The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) hold one of the biggest and most valuable collections of natural and cultural history in the world, with more than 35 million objects. Their collections are used for ground-breaking scientific and historical research and in a range of community science programmes, including creating indoor-outdoor visitor experiences. NHMLAC's president and director Lori Bettison-Varga said: 'We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity, especially for underserved communities, aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation, including through our Stem and Steam Pathways programmes.' Meghan and Harry, who celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last month, live in the US with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after stepping away from the working monarchy.
