Karwa Motors launches specialised vehicle for logistics, transportation
Duqm: Karwa Motors, through its factory in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZD), has launched its latest product for logistics, military and public transport, as part of its strategic partnership with Impel and technical cooperation with MAN.
The product was developed in line with the needs of local, regional and international markets, and reflects the company's ability to keep pace with the latest technologies to serve government and private entities.
This product also confirms the company's commitment to enhancing local automotive manufacturing in the Sultanate of Oman and expanding the scope of industrial innovation to produce vehicles that keep pace with new demands that meet market needs.
The company showcased a diverse range of vehicles that boast the highest standards of safety and efficiency, meeting the needs of transportation between cities and remote areas, enhancing its role in supporting the transportation sector's infrastructure.
The company announced its continued cooperation with Armored Group to develop and armour vehicles for special uses, which contributes to expanding its range of specialised products and supports its drive to meet the needs of various vital sectors.
Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, said that the launch of the latest vehicle products comes within the framework of the company's efforts to develop the automotive industry in the Sultanate of Oman, meet the needs of local markets, export to regional and international markets, and provide the industrial sector with new products that contribute to achieving self-sufficiency.
He added in a statement to the Oman News Agency that this type of vehicle enhances the presence of Omani industries in regional and global markets, contributes to achieving economic diversification goals, and increases the added value of national industry.
He emphasised that vehicle production represents an important step in the company's path toward industrial and technological expansion, and enhances the Sultanate of Oman's position as an advanced centre for manufacturing specialised vehicles and equipment, benefiting from the integrated infrastructure provided by the Special Economic Zone in Duqm.
Karwa Motors is a strategic investment between the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Investment Authority, and the State of Qatar, represented by the national transport company, Mowasalat Qatar.

Pact to advance urban air mobility in Oman
MUSCAT, JUNE 6 AeroVecto, an Oman-based startup specialising in sustainable air mobility solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Romanian-based LYNEports, a digital planning platform for advanced air mobility infrastructure, to support the rollout of hybrid electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aviation services in Oman and the wider GCC region. The partnership is set to take advanced air mobility services, currently in its nascency in Oman, to the next level. A number of Omani startups, in partnership with key players in the global international, are gearing up to introduce uncrewed air mobility services for, among other fields, cargo deliveries, passenger transportation, ambulance services, medical deliveries and even disaster relief. AeroVecto is credited with developing Shuttle, a hybrid eVTOL aircraft purposely built for mass public transportation. According to the company, the high-capacity aircraft will enhance current ground-based public transport by enabling convenient point-to-point travel. With a focus on passenger volume and comfort, Shuttle aims to revolutionise urban and intercity mobility, introducing a new era of clean, efficient and scalable air transport. Through the partnership, LYNEports will assist in planning and simulating AeroVecto's Shuttle network, ensuring each site meets aviation-grade safety standards, operational viability and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, by leveraging LYNEports' AI-driven platform, AeroVecto can evaluate ideal locations, model flight routes and visualise integrated transport systems, accelerating the adoption of advanced air mobility across Oman. Tatas to make Rafale fuselage in India, partnering with Dassault
Mumbai: French aerospace company Dassault Aviation has signed four Production Transfer Agreements to manufacture the Rafale fighter aircraft fuselage in India, in partnership with Tata Advanced Systems. This marks a significant step forward in strengthening the country's aerospace manufacturing capabilities and supporting global supply chains. "This facility represents a significant investment in India's aerospace infrastructure and will serve as a critical hub for high-precision manufacturing," a joint statement said Thursday. Under the scope of the partnership, Tata Advanced Systems will set up a cutting-edge production facility in Hyderabad for the manufacture of key structural sections of the Rafale, including the lateral shells of the rear fuselage, the complete rear section, the central fuselage, and the front section. The first fuselage sections are expected to roll off the assembly line in 2027-28, with the facility expected to deliver up to two complete fuselages per month. "For the first time, Rafale fuselages will be produced outside France. This is a decisive step in strengthening our supply chain in India. Thanks to the expansion of our local partners, including TASL, one of the major players in the Indian aerospace industry, this supply chain will contribute to the successful ramp-up of the Rafale and, with our support, will meet our quality and competitiveness requirements," said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
