Three arrested in St. John Parish drug bust
ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Three people have been arrested following a drug bust that happened in St. John the Baptist Parish on Friday, May 30.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office, the arrests came following a months-long investigation, and particularly the investigation into one of the suspects, identified as 43-year-old Amandzo Williams, beginning back in late April.
That investigation led to search warrants being executed on two homes in LaPlace, one in the 1100 block of Heather Lane and the other in the 100 block of Apricot Street, resulting in the arrests of three suspects, identified as Amandzo, 55-year-old Grant Williams and 42-year-old Namoel Richardson.

Investigators also say that during the searches, the following items were seized: two firearms, around 100 grams of crack cocaine, around 1100 methamphetamine tablets, around 700 grams of marijuana and over $6,500 in cash.
The suspects have been booked on the following charges:
Amandzo, held on a $176,500 bond:
Possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
Possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
Possession of a firearm with a CDS.
Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Transactions involving proceeds from CDS activity.
Grant, held on a $201,500 bond:
Possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
Possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Possession of a firearm with a CDS.
Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Transactions involving proceeds from CDS activity.
Richardson, held on a $6,500 bond:
Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Three weeks later, two Orleans Parish jail escapees remain on the loose
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The hunt for Derrick Groves and Antoine Massey is entering its fourth week after they allegedly escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center, and new developments are still coming almost daily. Earlier this week, a home in the Fairgrounds neighborhood was raided after two videos surfaced online with Massey proclaiming his innocence. Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Fair agrees, saying Groves appears to be lying low. As for Massey, Fair thinks the videos, and a photograph found on social media just yesterday could be a strategic move. 'I think he's trying to throw his case out, that he's innocent of the charges. Could he be pretending to be somewhere else? Yeah, absolutely. We don't know that for a fact. Could be trying to throw us off like 'I am in Houston' while he's still here or wherever he is,' said Fair. Legal analyst Barry Ranshi says the photo and videos could backfire in court for Massey. 'Can't imagine a scenario with that type of information that he is posting on the run, acknowledging that he left the facility, that it would help. The prosecutors will have to authenticate the evidence, assuming that they're able to meet that threshold, that would be evidence,' said Ranshi. 'Mr. Massey does have the tattoos. Mr. Groves is a very tall man, and he has a very long stride. Swings his arms when he walks. So there are things about these two individuals that we all need to really commit to memory,' said Talia. Talia reminds the public to be smart but also safe. If you see either Massey or Groves, or know where they are, do not approach them. Instead, call the police or Crimestoppers. 6-year-old, 12-year-old killed in Terrebonne Parish crash
TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A 6-year-old and a 12-year-old are dead following a crash that happened in Terrebonne Parish on Thursday afternoon, June 5. According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop C began investigating the crash, which happened on Louisiana Highway 311 near Fellowship Lane, around 4 p.m. Hammond man accused of arson, attempted murder Troopers say a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Cherri Breaux, was heading south on the highway when at the same time, a 2023 Kenworth was heading north. For reasons that are being investigated, the Toyota tried to turn left into a driveway, entering the path of the Kenworth and being hit on the right side. The driver of the Kenworth was properly restrained and wasn't injured. All four of the Toyota's occupants were unrestrained and taken to multiple hospitals. Breaux received minor injuries and a juvenile passenger was moderately injured. The 12-year-old and 6-year-old passengers were severely injured and died at the hospital. A standard toxicology sample was taken from Breaux for analysis as part of the ongoing invesstigation. Hammond man accused of arson, attempted murder
HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — A Hammond man has been arrested after he allegedly set fire to a Hammond-area home with two women inside of it on Wednesday, June 4. According to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal, a fire was reported at a home in the 44000 block of Marie Drive in Hammond. The people inside the home were able to escape safely, and a request was made for SFM deputies to investigate the fire, who determined that it was set intentionally on the front porch. Vacherie man sentenced in murder, attempted murder case Investigators say they then named 36-year-old Kirk Anslem, an ex-boyfriend of one of the occupants, as the suspect. After a pursuit and a manhunt which lasted over 12-hours, Anslem was arrested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office around Pumpkin Center Road. He faces charges of two counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated arson and a count of cyberstalking.
