Shane Lowry four adrift in congested field at Canadian Open
Shane Lowry remains within striking distance and four strokes adrift of the lead after a third round 68 at the RBC Canadian Open.
Lowry carded a second successive two-under par round to begin the day as he started, four shy of the leaders. However, in a highly congested leaderboard, he has dropped to tied-16th ahead of the final round at TPC Toronto.
Ryan Fox and Matteo Manessaro both shot 64 on Saturday to rise to the top of the leaderboard on 14-under, the pair teeing off the final group tomorrow.
They lead by a stroke from a trio of players on 13-under, Lee Hodges, Matt McCarthy and Kevin Yu. Overnight leader Cameron Champ carded a one-over par 71 to drop back into the cluster of players on 11-under, which also contains Victor Perez and Cameron Young.
Lowry posted a steady round on Saturday, with birdies on the eighth, the short 11th and the 13th, with a bogey sandwiched in between on the 12th.
The 2019 Open champion begins the day among the large grouping on 10-under which contains, among others, Danny Willett, Sam Burns and home favourite Adam Hadwin.
Masters champion Rory McIlroy missed the cut after a wild week on the tee saw him shoot 78 on Friday, sitting near the foot of the field in 149th.
