Scottie Scheffler's putting at the Genesis Scottish Open was once again a sign that he's human after all. Although it wasn't one of his worst putting performances, the ultra-competitive Scheffler was deeply frustrated with his work on the greens, especially during the fourth round.
Such displays of discontent aren't common for him, but most fans love them, as they bring the World No. 1 down to Earth from time to time. One that's now iconic occurred on the 13th green during the final round of the Scottish Open, going so viral that it's become a meme.
Scheffler had an 8-foot birdie putt. The execution of the shot looked perfect; you can even see that the ball broke in the right direction, but not far enough, and just missed the edge of the hole.
That's when Scheffler reacted, opening his arms and seemingly signaling the full amount of room the ball had to hit the hole, rather than 'choosing' to go wide.

Fair enough, Scheffler parred the hole on his way to a final round 67. His performance for the day included an eagle, three birdies, and two bogeys.
The Ridgewood, New Jersey, native lost 1.455 strokes with his putting, ranking 64th among all members of the field. Despite this, he finished tied for eighth, making up for it with his extraordinary work approaching the green (six strokes gained) and off-the-tee (2.859 strokes gained).

Like most of his peers, Scottie Scheffler will travel from Scotland to Northern Ireland to play in the Open Championship at Royal Portrush this week.
The three-time major champion will be among the favorites for the title, especially considering that his performance at the Scottish Open appeared to be an 'adjustment' in preparation for the season's fourth major.
"Definitely got adjusted to the time zone. I feel like I did some good stuff this week," he said.
"It was unusually warm this week. We'll see what the weather is like next week but overall, I could have played a little bit better this week. But overall, pleased with how I played the last couple days."
"I feel like I'm really close. I feel like I was close to playing some really good golf. Just got to get some momentum."
Scheffler has finished in the top 25 in all 15 tournaments he has played this season. The Genesis Scottish Open was his 10th consecutive top-10 finish, including all three of his wins of the year.
It is that level of consistency that puts him head and shoulders above every golfer alive.

Ordained monk Sadom Kaewkanjana near top of leaderboard early at The Open

Denmark's Jacob Skov Olesen turned heads during Round 1 of the Open Championship, where he jumped out to surprising early lead at Royal Portrush. At first glance, Sadom Kaewkanjana appears to be one of those random names that usually appears near the top of the leaderboard early at an Open Championship. But his story is far from mundane. The 27-year-old Thai took a hiatus from golf in 2023 to live as a Buddhist monk and practice mediation, saying then, 'I was ordained because I wanted to return the greatest merit and repay my parents.' 'I was cut off from the rest of the world when I was ordained,' he added. 'That made me feel more calm. I was able to concentrate more, which will help me improve my game of golf.' Kaewkanjana had previously qualified for The Open, competing at St. Andrews in 2022, when he tied for 11th. He qualified for Royal Portrush via his victory in the Kolon Korea Open, a Qualifying Series event on the Asian Tour. Thursday, he made the turn in 3-under 33, one off the clubhouse lead. Kaewkanjana birdied the par-5 second and made an eagle-2 at the par-4 fifth, hitting his tee shot on the 361-yard hole to 23 feet and making the putt.

'You wouldn't think I was a member here'

Darren Clarke has joked that you would not think he was a member at Royal Portrush after an opening round of 75 at the Open. The 2011 Open winner struggled with one birdie and six bogeys in his opening 16 holes. However, the 56-year chipped in from the rough on the 17th to collect a shot back and his aim is to make the cut for the weekend. "Four over par wasn't what I was hoping for," Clarke told BBC Sport NI. "In my practice I was hitting the ball nicely, putting nicely and doing everything well. "But that's golf, today it didn't quite happen." Clarke admits his performance on the front nine was littered with "stupid mistakes" that left him questioning 'what am I doing?'. "On the front nine I hit shots that wouldn't make you think I was a member here," he added. "But the chip in on 17 was a huge bonus and it was nice to do something good and positive for the day. I just need to play well tomorrow."

Prince George and Charlotte Looking Like 'Alcaraz Warriors' Goes Viral

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, looking disappointed at the outcome of the Wimbledon tennis final, went viral on TikTok. George and Charlotte joined their parents, Princess Kate and Prince William, to watch Carlos Alcaraz take on Jannik Sinner in the men's singles final. Alcaraz lost in four sets, and royal watchers joked that it looked like George and Charlotte were upset at the outcome based on their body language on center court and during the post-match meet-and-greet. It is, of course, entirely possible that they were simply wilting in the heat, as Charlotte was seen fanning herself during the match and George was wearing a suit jacket and tie. Karwai Tang/WireImage Why It Matters Prince Louis is usually the royal who generates viral social media content at public events, but George's body language in particular sparked a flurry of light-hearted jokes and memes. One video of the brother and sister posted on X that was viewed 5.7 million times and liked 14,000 times, included the message: "This is sending me they are not even hiding it." The clip was then quoted in another post, which read: "The royal children being Alcaraz warriors is frying me." That post was in turn viewed 2.6 million times and liked 57,000 times. What To Know The clip begins with footage of George and Charlotte standing by their seats on Center Court, before cutting to a later clip of the royal siblings with their mother and Sinner after the game. "It was a fantastic thing to watch for us and seriously inspiring," Kate told the new Wimbledon champion. George, who turns 12 next week, and Charlotte, 10, may not have seemed their usual, smiling, animated selves, but it was also a hot day with temperatures in the high 20s Celsius (high 70s, low 80s Fahrenheit). A certain amount of debate around the royals is perhaps inevitable. One X user joked: "[George] must have put money on alcaraz 😭😭😭😭 half the royal savings down the drain." Another X user posted: "OMG! I love it. Alcarez Warrior Myself." A third X user posted: "they were heatedd." What Happens Next Fans of the royals can look forward to a new photo of George, which Kate and William will likely release on Tuesday to mark their son's 12th birthday.
