When Nicola Peltz began dating her much younger boyfriend Anwar Hadid, she wasted no time getting to know his family.
Just 17 to her 22 years when they got together in 2017, Nicola, then an aspiring actress, soon ensured she became 'besties' with his mum, Yolanda – who was then the stand-out star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – as well as his big sisters, supermodels Bella and Gigi.

Tony Awards draw best audience in 6 years for CBS

The Tony Awards on Sunday lured 4.85 million viewers to CBS, its largest broadcast audience in six years, according to Nielsen's data. CBS said Monday the telecast — hosted by 'Wicked' star Cynthia Erivo — scored a 38% increase over last year's 3.53 million viewers. That's the largest audience for the Tonys since 2019, when the telecast that year nabbed 5.4 million viewers and ' Hadestown ' was crowned best new musical. The latest version also had to compete with the second game of the NBA Finals, between the Thunder and Pacers, CBS also said the awards show drew its largest ever streaming audience on Paramount+ but did not disclose streaming viewership numbers, only saying it was up 208% from last year. 'Maybe Happy Ending,' a rom-com about androids that crackles with humanity won best new musical on a night when Kara Young made history as the first Black person to win two Tonys consecutively for 'Purpose,' which also won best new play. Interest in the Tonys may also have been fueled by the competition in the best lead actress in a musical category, with Audra McDonald gunning for her record-setting seventh Tony and Nicole Scherzinger of 'Sunset Blvd.' hoping to be crowned a legitimate Broadway diva after a career in the pop group Pussycat Dolls and as a TV talent show judge. Other Hollywood names included in the telecast included George Clooney making his Broadway debut and 'Succession' star Sarah Snook being named best leading actress in a play for 'The Picture of Dorian Gray,' a one-woman show.

Real Housewives Of New York City star says she is DONE with reality TV causing fans to 'break down in tears'

Brynn Whitfield is stepping away from reality TV. The Real Housewives of New York City cast member, 39, who was accused of 'weaponizing' a past sexual assault in the season 15 finale, shared the news on social media Monday. 'After a lot of thought, I've made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now,' she wrote in a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram Stories, adding that she wanted to 'pour every ounce of energy into building Hoppy,' the dating app she co-founded. 'The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life. It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise,' she told her fans. 'From day one, I've believed RHONY is a fan's show — we're just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.' 'I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little) and more than anything — I hope there's a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud,' she continued. 'RHONY without you is maybe not something I want to watch ❤️' said a fan after the shocking announcement. 'This is ridiculous. She was the best one on the cast,' wrote another. 'This actually made me sad. I'm excited for your new journey but I don't think the cast will be the same without you,' a die-hard follower stated. 'This is sad because you were so great the first season, not so great the second season but I was hoping to see your redemption arc third season. Good luck to you!!' was another comment referring to the tempestuous season 15 reunion which aired earlier this year. This fan was devastated: 'I am breaking down in tears as I type.' Tension between Whitfield and castmate Ubah Hassan came to a head following allegations Hassan had accused Whitfield of sleeping with someone to be cast on the reality reboot. Her exit doesn't mean Whitfield is departing from her media career altogether. She will still host her podcast, Please See Below, along with publishing a book. 'Prepare to laugh, cry, and possibly poop when you read my book coming out later this year,' she warned followers, but did not say when the tome would be published. 'To-date, I've only shared a fraction of who I am, what I've been through and what I've learned. It's the most vulnerable thing I've ever written,' she explained. Whitfield is not the only cast member to step away from the show. Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, 44, revealed in February she was bowing out after appearing in season 15, saying she wanted to 'focus on my wildly amazing 4 kids, my supportive husband, my business of 20 years, the Female Founder Collective, my podcast and MY BOOK.' She and Whitfield did not get along well after the latter mocked her for having her designs sold at a discount at Nordstrom Rack. 'Listen, she doesn't have to like my stuff. That's fine,' Minkoff conceded in a confessional, before declaring, 'I built a $100 million company.'

Justin Baldoni's $400m lawsuit against Blake Lively thrown out by judge

Justin Baldoni's lawsuit against his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively has been thrown out by a judge Baldoni launched the lawsuit after Lively sued him for sexual harassment and retaliation in December. Baldoni and production company Wayfarer Studios counter-sued in January for $400 million, accusing Lively and her husband, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, of defamation and extortion. District Court Judge Lewis Liman has now ruled that Baldoni cannot sue Lively for defamation over claims she made in her lawsuit, because allegations made in a lawsuit are exempt from libel claims. Judge Liman also ruled that Baldoni's claims that Lively stole creative control of the film did not count as extortion under California law. While Lively was accused in the lawsuit of threatening to refuse to promote the film, Wayfarer does 'not allege facts showing that Lively had an obligation to promote the film or to approve marketing materials,' Judge Liman wrote. Baldoni's legal team can revise the lawsuit if they want to pursue different claims related to whether Lively breached a contract, the judge said. It Ends With Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling 2016 novel that begins as a romance but takes a dark turn into domestic violence, was released in August, exceeding box office expectations with a $50 million debut. But the movie's release was shrouded by speculation of bad blood between Lively and Baldoni. The judge also dismissed Baldoni's defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, which reported on Lively's sexual harassment allegations. 'Today's opinion is a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively, along with those that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties dragged into their retaliatory lawsuit, including Ryan Reynolds, (publicist) Leslie Sloane and The New York Times,' Lively's attorneys, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, said in a prepared statement. The lawyers said they 'look forward to the next round' of seeking attorneys' fees, treble damages and punitive damages. In her original lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni of making inappropriate physical advances, such as improvising kissing scenes without her consent, and creating a hostile work environment by entering her trailer uninvited. Lively further claimed that after she reported the alleged incidents, Baldoni and his team orchestrated a smear campaign against her, involving a public relations strategy to damage her reputation. The Associated Press sent emails seeking comment to Baldoni's attorneys. Lively appeared in the 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the TV series Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2012 before starring in films including The Town and The Shallows. Baldoni starred in the TV comedy Jane the Virgin, directed the 2019 film Five Feet Apart and wrote Man Enough, a book challenging traditional notions of masculinity.
