Aldi store assistant shares 5 secrets to working there
Store Assistant Georgina Phillips has shared some of the quirks and surprises that come with the job at the UK's fourth-largest supermarket.
Georgina shares: "This is a real perk in the retail industry. Our breaks are paid - so whether I'm eating lunch or enjoying some downtime in between shifts, I'm still earning.
"Over the course of a year, it adds up to around £1,370 extra in your pay packet, which can make a real difference."
Aldi workers get trained across the whole store, so one day they might be stacking fruit and vegetables, and on another day they'll be on the tills.
Georgina adds: "That flexibility means every Store Assistant can perform whatever role is needed at that time - which keeps queues down and things moving fast."

Aldi has a number of measures to help run things efficiently, including having larger barcodes to help with scanning.
Georgina explains: "Even shelf packaging is designed for efficiency by being ready to slot straight onto the shelves. It's part of the reason Aldi can offer such great value."
Georgina says: "Not only is Aldi the best-paying supermarket, but from free same-day GP appointments to discounted gym memberships and a dedicated wellbeing app, the benefits make a real difference too.
"If my toddler is ever poorly, I can use Aldi's digital GP service and get help within hours – which is faster than my usual surgery.

"And the generous 28-day holiday allowance means I get to plan beach days with the kids without the stress."

Working at Aldi and being trained across the whole store means staff are knowledgeable across a range of areas.
Georgina says: "Ask me anything about the Specialbuys or wine picks and I probably know them inside out before they hit the shelves.
"We're trained on everything in store, from the latest wine picks to the Super Six fruit and veg offers.
"Knowing the layout and launches like the back of my hand means I can help shoppers find what they're after, and fast."

Aldi signs up Summerhall Distillery
Summerhall Distillery is now the exclusive distiller of Aldi's Toradh Gin, becoming the latest Scottish food and drink producer to secure a new listing with Aldi Scotland. The Edinburgh-based distiller, most famous for crafting Pickering's Gin, has been announced as the retailer's newest gin producer and will now be responsible for creating its expertly crafted, Scottish-made Toradh Gin range. Summerhall Distillery was the first new distillery to be built in Edinburgh in 150 years when it was established in 2013. The quirky and creative distillery, located in the old dog kennels at the Old Royal Vet School, now crafts thousands of litres of gin every year, including its classic Pickering's Gin famously inspired by a handwritten Bombay recipe from 1947. The distillery will now take on the exclusive distilling of Aldi's famous Toradh Gin range, bringing six innovative flavours to shelves on all 109 Aldi stores. The smooth and delightful gin is at the heart of Aldi's premium spirits range, offering exceptional alcoholic drinks at fantastically low prices, with a 50cl of Toradh Original costing just £13.99. Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, at Aldi Scotland said: 'Building on our rich distilling heritage in Scotch whisky, Scotland is now at the forefront of gin production. With more than 90 gin distillers in Scotland, ranging from niche handcrafted blends to major producers exporting globally, Scotland has a unique role in serving the world's gin aficionados. 'Summerhall Distillery is an excellent example of a success story in Scotland's food and drink sector. It was at the cusp of the gin boom in the UK, becoming the first distillery in the capital in over a 150 years, before being joined by many other peers. 'Its commitment to quality, well-crafted spirits has led to a diverse portfolio of gin, whisky, vodka and rum, which are cherished worldwide. We're incredibly proud to partner with such a respected Scottish distiller, known for its innovation and craftsmanship. 'Working alongside Summerhall Distillery, we will continue to serve fantastic Scottish products at our famously low Aldi prices.' Matt Gammell co-founder of Summerhall Distillery, said: 'We're absolutely thrilled to be working with Aldi Scotland as part of its commitment to championing local producers. As one of Edinburgh's earliest gin distilleries in recent years, we've watched the industry flourish and are proud to be part of such a dynamic Scottish drinks scene. 'We're especially proud to see the Torradh Gin range now available to Aldi customers. This is a collection that celebrates the warmth of the Scottish spirit, both in character and in craft. Our shared values of quality, authenticity and a passion for great flavour make this a natural partnership, and we're excited to see where it leads as we continue to grow this range and bring innovative, handcrafted spirits to new audiences.' Plus, the best perfume dupes on the high street right now SCENT-SATIONAL Aldi's designer perfume dupes are back – the exact spot you need to go to & grab them for £1.99 before they sell out ALDI has sent beauty buffs into a frenzy with posh perfumes dupes for just £1.99. The discount retailer has seriously upped its beauty game in the recent years - and their latest addition to the shelves is no exception. 2 The discount retailer has launched new mini perfumes for just £1.99 Credit: tiktok/@fibeautyfindsuk 2 The latest collection boasts dupes of viral perfumes - but without the hefty price tag Credit: tiktok/@fibeautyfindsuk A bargain hunter recently revealed Aldi has launched new mini perfumes which are said to be affordable dupes of cult favourite scents, including the viral Baccarat Rouge. The mini perfumes, priced at just £1.99, retail for just a fraction of the price of the real thing, saving cash-strapped beauty buffs a fortune. What's more, not only are they more affordable but the mini scents are also ideal for chucking in your bag - or when you go travelling for a few days. The latest drop includes Lacura Prism which is thought to be the perfect dupe for the iconic Prada Paradoxe, currently on offer for £57.60 at Boots. Prism - which customers claim is "nearly identical" to the original - is described as "delicate and light" and offers "gentle notes" of Orange Blossom, Neroli and Jasmine. It also boasts "warm undertones" of Bourbon Vanilla, White Musk, and Amber which match a rich Bergamot and Tangerine "freshness on the finish". Meanwhile, if you've been thinking of snapping up the much-loved Miss Dior perfume but can't justify spending £72, Aldi's Perfect Pink is said to be a great alternative. Similarly to its high-end sister that can retail for over £115, Perfect Pink combines delicate floral scents that's reminiscent of fresh flower bouquet - and even the baby pink bottle is almost identical, minus the signature bow. ''Aldi, you've done it again! I have no idea how Aldi keeps getting these dupes spot on, but I'm so here for it,'' one perfume whizz previously said. Last but certainly not least is a dupe of a perfume that everyone and their mum seem to be talking about - the posh £335 Baccarat Rouge. I get stopped in the street by people asking where my perfume's from - it's a dupe of a designer scent & saves me £135 Unlike the real deal, the budget-friendly version - the Cardinal Red Eau de Parfum - retails for a mere £1.99, saving you over £330. The high-end version is a favourite amongst celebs, including Rihanna and Molly-Mae Hague. And similarly the Lacura scent offers a a seamless blend of soft jasmine, sweet saffron, warm amberwood and cedar. The perfume therefore makes for the perfect spicy and floral mix that you'll find difficult to resist - and it already seems to have become a hit on social media.
