President Donald Trump broke his silence one day after reports of a clash between U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino about the release of a memo regarding Jeffrey Epstein, which prompted conservatives on social media to call for the president to fire her.
In a lengthy Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump stressed that Bondi is "doing a FANTASTIC JOB!" and that he has a "PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD."
Why It Matters
Epstein, the financier and sex offender who died in prison six years ago, socialized with some of the world's most powerful people. While his death was ruled a suicide, conspiracy theories persist that he was instead killed due to his purported "client list," which many have speculated to contain the names of politicians including Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Britain's Prince Andrew.
Billionaire Elon Musk last month said the government had not released records related to the case because Trump "is in the Epstein files." While the president has dismissed Musk's claim, it has sparked further interest in the government's records.
During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump suggested he would release files related to Epstein, with a first batch publicized in February by Bondi. However, earlier this week, Trump and Bondi said they found "no incriminating 'client list'" related to Epstein, triggering major backlash among Democrats and the president's "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) supporters.
Earlier this week, NewsNation reported that Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel wanted to unseal evidence months ago and release "every single piece of evidence they could, while protecting victims." Bongino has denied the allegation, but on Friday CNN reported that he was considering quitting his post over the dispute.
What To Know
Tensions within the Trump administration escalated after a heated exchange earlier in the week between Bongino and Bondi regarding management of the Epstein case, CNN's Kaitlan Collins reported Friday. Multiple sources told the outlet that Bongino did not turn up to work on Friday, increasing speculation that he is eyeing an exit.
Far-right political activist Laura Loomer stirred up conservatives on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday after news broke that Bongino's reported decision to stay or leave was contingent on whether Bondi quit as attorney general.
Loomer wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that Bongino may quit unless Bondi left, and that "the MAGA base would like to see Trump FIRE Blondi [sic]. She is a massive liability to this otherwise great administration."
Other conservatives, including Charlie Kirk, Megyn Kelly, and former Representative George Santos, called for Trump to fire Bondi and back Bongino.
However, on Saturday, Trump made clear that he backed his attorney general, writing, "LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE'S GREAT!"
"What's going on with my 'boys' and, in some cases, 'gals?'" Trump asked. "They're all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We're on one Team, MAGA, and I don't like what's happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and 'selfish people' are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein. For years, it's Epstein, over and over again."
Trump then criticized coverage of the Epstein files, which he wrote were created by "Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration, who conned the World with the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, 51 'Intelligence' Agents, 'THE LAPTOP FROM HELL,' and more."
He continued: "No matter how much success we have had, securing the Border, deporting Criminals, fixing the Economy, Energy Dominance, a Safer World where Iran will not have Nuclear Weapons, it's never enough for some people. We are about to achieve more in 6 months than any other Administration has achieved in over 100 years, and we have so much more to do."
Later in the post, Trump wrote that "Kash Patel, and the FBI, must be focused on investigating Voter Fraud, Political Corruption, ActBlue, The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020, and arresting Thugs and Criminals, instead of spending month after month looking at nothing but the same old, Radical Left inspired Documents on Jeffrey Epstein."
Trump then said he had tasked Bondi with looking into the 2020 and 2024 elections, once again saying the former had been "rigged and stolen," before touting the U.S. is now the "HOTTEST" country "anywhere in the world."
"Let's keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about," he concluded.

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X on Saturday afternoon: "The conspiracy theories just aren't true, never have been. It's an honor to serve the President of the United States @realDonaldTrump — and I'll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me."
Far-right political activist Laura Loomer on Saturday wrote on X: "President Trump says he thinks Blondi [sic] is 'doing a Fantastic job' as AG in a post he posted on Truth Social today...."
Fox News host Mark Levin wrote on X: "President Trump has had enough of the Epsteinian kooks. Here's his just released statement."
Charlie Kirk, conservative founder and president of Turning Point USA, wrote on X: "President Trump on the Epstein Files, says he supports Pam Bondi at AG, the files are untrustworthy and created by Comey and Brennan. He wants his Justice Department focused on the voter fraud, the rigged election, ActBlue, and arresting thugs and criminals."

RNC Chair Michael Whatley claims Zohran Mamdani is the 'face of the new Democratic Party'
EXCLUSIVE – Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani's stunning Democratic Party primary victory in the nation's most populous city appears to be the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans aiming to paint Democrats as extreme radicals. When asked if Mamdani is giving the GOP extra ammunition in their messaging battle, Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley answered "absolutely." "I mean, this is the face of the new Democratic Party," Whatley said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. Whatley argued that "everybody who wants to lead that party wants to lead it to the left….they're moving away from the American public right now at a pretty rapid clip." Mamdani, who convincingly topped former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates last month to capture the New York City Democratic mayoral nomination and take a big step toward becoming the city's first Muslim mayor, is giving Republicans plenty of fodder. He's proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City's vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) "tuition-free," freezing rents on municipal housing, offering "free childcare" for children up to age 5 and setting up government-run grocery stores. Also fueling the Republican attacks are recent news items that have gone viral. They include a 2020 photo Mamdani posted online that shows him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus, stories about comments Mamdani made last December when he said as mayor he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his recent comments in a cable news interview that "I have many critiques of capitalism." Republicans have been relentless in trying to anchor Mamdani to Democrats across the country who are running in competitive races in elections this year and in next year's midterms. "He certainly is going to fit right into that upper echelon of Democrats who are vying for a lead in that party," Whatley said of Mamdani. He claimed that "they're just unabashedly in that radical woke part of the party." Pointing to last year's elections, when the Republicans won back the White House and Senate and held onto their razor-thin House majority, Whatley argued that "every single candidate right now on the Democratic side of the aisle is buying into the same failed agenda that they lost with in 2024." Additionally, Democrats question the effectiveness of the GOP push. They argue that there's a world of difference between heavily blue New York City, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by a roughly six-to-one margin, and some key battleground states and swing districts across the country. Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, a Democrat, told reporters the day after Mamdani's victory that "I love New York, but it's a very liberal place, and I don't know that you can necessarily apply that to the rest of the country." In the high-profile 2026 race to succeed retiring Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Republican candidate and former Sen. Scott Brown went up last week with a digital ad that edits a picture of Rep. Chris Pappas, the Democratic candidate in the race, alongside photos of Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the progressive rock star who backed Mamdani. Pappas, speaking with Fox News Digital last week, said, "Republicans have spent tens of millions of dollars running attack ads against me through the years trying to paint me as someone that I'm not." "People know me. They know the work that I've been doing. They know that I'm one of the most bipartisan members of the House of Representatives because I believe in solving problems and getting things done," Pappas said. "I'm a New Hampshire Democrat. I'm proud of my track record in Congress." Pappas was joined on the campaign trail by longtime Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, who spent plenty of time in New Hampshire ahead of her third-place finish in the state's 2020 Democratic presidential primary. "It's about New Hampshire. They're going to do this in all these races across the country. They try to attach people. People have never even met some of these people. And they keep doing it," Klobuchar told Fox News when asked about the Republican ad anchoring Mamdani to Pappas. "To me this is about what's going on for the people of this state."

Nvidia CEO Meets With Trump and Secures Permission to Sell AI Chips in China Again
It's been a very busy week for Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. After meeting with President Donald Trump and senior officials in Beijing in recent days, Huang has secured a major victory for his AI-chip empire. On Monday, Nvidia announced that the U.S. government will allow it to resume sales of its H20 AI chips in China. The company still needs to secure official licensing approval from the Trump administration, but officials have reportedly assured Nvidia 'that licenses will be granted.' The company said in a blog post that it's already filing the necessary applications and plans to begin shipments soon. The H20 chip is a dialed-down version of Nvidia's powerhouse H100 semiconductor, built specifically for the Chinese market to comply with U.S. export restrictions. Nvidia is still banned from selling its most advanced chips to China due to national security concerns. The restrictions are also part of a broader effort to maintain America's edge in AI. Back in April, those curbs tightened even more. After the unexpected success of the Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, the U.S. halted exports of the modified H20 chips, costing Nvidia potentially billions of dollars in sales. But now, it appears all but certain that Huang has managed to convince Trump that selling to China is actually a win for America. According to the company, during Huang's meeting with Trump and other U.S. policymakers, he reaffirmed 'NVIDIA's support for the Administration's effort to create jobs, strengthen domestic AI infrastructure and onshore manufacturing, and ensure that America leads in AI worldwide.' Huang has also made the case that if the future is AI, it's better that it runs on American hardware. 'General-purpose, open-source research and foundation models are the backbone of AI innovation,' Huang told reporters in D.C. 'We believe that every civil model should run best on the U.S. technology stack, encouraging nations worldwide to choose America.' This news comes just days after Nvidia made history, becoming the first company ever to reach a $4 trillion market cap. Founded in 1993, Nvidia's chips were mostly known for decades for their use in gaming and computer graphics; however, they have now become the backbone in some major tech advances including AI, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. These victories have also paid off personally for Huang, who is now the eighth-richest person in the world. His fortune has already surpassed that of old-school business titan Warren Buffett and is just $1 billion shy of catching up to internet pioneer Sergey Brin.
