University station to temporarily go off-air for equipment move
JOPLIN, Mo. — KGCS-TV, the television station out of Missouri Southern State University, will soon transmit from a new location.
The campus has had its broadcast tower in place since 1988, but from then until now, the transmitter has been off-campus.
Officials with Missouri Southern say because of this change, KGCS-TV will be temporarily off-air. The broadcast hiatus begins April 22 and will last for several days while equipment is being moved to its new home.
'This move will really allow us to reallocate resources toward initiatives that will enhance the student experience,' said Lisa Olliges Green, KGCS-TV General Manager.
Programming from KGCS-TV is available on channel 21 via antenna and also is accessible through local cable providers like Suddenlink Communications, Mediacom, and Sparklight.
MSSU tells us those concerned about the brief pause in broadcasting can continue to enjoy popular programming like Newsmakers, Behind the Bands, Window on the World, as well as band concerts, and more by visiting the station's YouTube Channel.
KGCS-TV operates as a part of the Department of Communication at MSSU, providing educational programming and hands-on experience for students

Sick of cable? This is the one live TV streaming service I'd use to cut the cord
I cut the cord years ago. But this year, I finally tested all of the best live TV streaming services for Tom's Guide, so I could definitively say which one was the best, and possibly even ditch my current service: YouTube TV. I've been a loyal YouTube TV customer for close to five years now. It's been far superior to cable, but I will admit, I wasn't sure it was better than the other live TV services. It's tough to change, though, so I wasn't in a rush to leave. But I had to test and review all six of the current live TV streaming services, and if I found a better option, I was going to leave YouTube TV. As I started reviewing all six services, I pretty quickly eliminated three of them. DirecTV has a ton of channels, but its pricing veers close to cable territory, and I didn't love the user interface. Philo simply lacks enough channels to be worth it, even at just $28 a month. Fubo offers a ton of channels, but it misses out on a lot of the most popular ones and it has hidden fees thanks to regional sports networks (RSNs). So that left me with three options: Sling TV, which has been our top live TV streaming service for a while, Hulu with Live TV, and, of course, YouTube TV. Each had things going for them. Sling TV costs just $45.99 a month for its base plan and even its most expensive plan tops out at just $65.99. That's significantly less than YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV, which both cost $82.99. Hulu with Live TV makes that higher price point easier to swallow, though, because it includes the streaming services Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus (all with ads) in your subscription for free. That's a $16.99 bundle normally, so we're talking about serious value. Of course, YouTube TV is no slouch. Its user interface is clean and easy to use, and it offers features like multiview and catching up with key plays. If you're a football fan, it'll even give you a discount on NFL Sunday Ticket and integrate it into your YouTube TV app. Ultimately, I'm sticking with YouTube TV and it's still the live TV streaming service I'd recommend to most people. But it was very close. YouTube TV is the live TV streaming service I recommend for most people. It features most of the popular channels you want, has a great user interface that's easy to use, and includes features like unlimited cloud DVR, three simultaneous streams, multiview, catching up with key plays and more. It's not perfect, but it's still the live TV streaming service to beat. Try it now for 21 days! Sling TV's big problem is that, while it's a great budget live TV streaming service, it can't fully replicate what you get from the full-flavored live TV services. Missing out on local channels (you can't get CBS in any market) was essentially a dealbreaker, and it didn't help that you don't get quite a few popular channels even in its highest tier plan. The lack of unlimited cloud DVR wasn't great either, but at least that's fixable by paying $5 extra a month. Hulu with Live TV is better than Sling. It has the popular channels I want (save AMC), includes unlimited cloud DVR and gives you the Disney Bundle, a value that is no joke. But it's limited to just two streams, and the user interface is not conducive to live TV viewing, even though for streaming on-demand content, it's perfectly fine. In the end, I still found YouTube TV to be the best overall live TV experience. It's not perfect — it's not as good a value as Hulu with Live TV, and it misses out on a few popular channels. But overall, it gives you all the features you'd expect from a live TV service and more and it's enjoyable to use. In the end, that's what matters the most to me, and that's why YouTube TV remains my pick for the one live TV streaming service I'd use to cut the cord. 'Ghost Adventures' Star Aaron Goodwin Gets Emotional Confronting Estranged Wife as She Is Sentenced for Conspiring to Murder Him
Aaron Goodwin confronted his estranged wife Victoria Goodwin during her sentencing on June 5 He told the judge he "will never feel safe" and he fears for his life after finding out that his estranged wife conspired to have him killed Victoria was sentenced to a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 90 months in prison after taking a plea deal in AprilAaron Goodwin confronted his estranged wife Victoria Goodwin for conspiring to murder him. The Ghost Adventures star, 49, read a statement in court as Victoria was sentenced on Thursday, June 5, detailing how he felt when he found out that she had been plotting his murder and the subsequent fear he had for his safety. 'For seven years I thought I was in [the] most loving relationship of marriage with my best friend, someone I trusted [with my] whole heart and laughed with every day. Someone who made me feel like I was so — like I was her one and only,' an emotional Goodwin told the judge, per Court TV. "Now, discovering she put a hit out to kill me more than once, got blackmailed and spent almost all our savings to keep it quiet … This has led me to fear [for] my life,' he continued, through tears. 'I've hired armed security for weeks. Not knowing [whether] it was over or not.' Aaron, who filed for divorce from Victoria in March, told the judge that ever since he found out about the plot, he has been 'looking over' his shoulder and going through therapy to understand everything that has happened. He then described the feeling as a 'heartbreak no one should go through in life," stating, "The fact that this person did all this to me with no worry, no care or love in her heart for me, I will never feel the same." "I will never feel safe or be the same because of what she did. Especially when she gets out one day," Aaron added. 'Whether she [gets] minimum or maximum time, I still won't feel safe whenever she's released. I feel like this deserves prison time." Victoria was later sentenced to a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 90 months in prison, according to KVVU-TV. She previously accepted a plea deal in April, pleading guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit murder. Victoria was initially taken into custody on March 6 on charges of soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder. She allegedly conspired with convicted murderer Grant Amato, with whom she began a relationship in March 2024, after seeing him in the Paramount+ true crime docuseries, Ctrl + Alt + Desire, per a police report. After Victoria and Amato met, she allegedly conspired to kill Aaron with her new lover's help — allegedly going as far as discussing payments for his murder.
