Drummer suffers heart attack on stage at festival
Lionel Duke, drummer for Liverpool band The Christians, suffered the cardiac arrest early into their set, the final support act before Sting was due to perform at the On The Waterfront festival at Liverpool's Pier Head on Sunday night.

A music festival was halted after a drummer collapsed on stage with a heart attack as thousands of fans watched.
Lionel Duke, drummer for Liverpool band The Christians, suffered the cardiac arrest early into their set, the final support act before Sting was due to perform at the On The Waterfront festival at Liverpool's Pier Head on Sunday night.
Mr Duke was given emergency first aid before being taken to a local hospital, with the thousands at the event being updated that medical staff were treating the musician.
The band's performance was abandoned but, after a delay, when the headline act Sting took to the stage, he told the crowd to cheers and applause that Mr Duke was in hospital and everyone was praying for him.
A statement on The Christians' Facebook page thanked well-wishers for the thousands of messages they had received and said Mr Duke had been taken to Broadgreen Hospital in the city, and thanked the medics present at the On The Waterfront festival.

A further statement on Monday read: "As you may have heard our appearance at the last night of @otwfliverpool was sadly abandoned due to our drummer Lionel Duke collapsed suffering a cardiac arrest during the early part of our performance and was treated by the amazing OTWF team and medics within the audience onstage following @garry.christian plea for help.
"Our thanks also to @theofficialsting for his concern and beautiful tribute to Lionel 'how fragile we are'"
Fans at the event also wrote on the band's page with best wishes.

Julie Forshaw said: "We were at the concert and we send our thoughts and love to Lionel, his friends and family and all of the band and crew ... the swift action of the medics and first aiders was amazing, and all of the stage crew quickly ensured that Lionel and the medics who were delivering first aid had the privacy that was needed.
"All of the crowd were silent and willing a positive outcome. Your manager was so professional with her speech so soon after the event was very brave. Sting's tribute was amazing and reminds us all that life is indeed very fragile. Take care everyone and we hope Lionel has a good recovery."
Mike Landsborough wrote: "Was at the gig in the front seen it all unfold what swift action by his band and first aid responders and the event staff for making it dignified by shielding Lionel with a makeshift curtain whilst they performed the c.p.r I know he is in good hands at Broadgreen as I too suffered a heart attack and was treated successfully at Broadgreen our thoughts are with Lionel his family and his band family."

Some were on board with the potential new flavour. User @amy_f_wills said that while the original chocolate orange 'cannot be beaten', the 'only other flavour worth doing is pistachio.' It's not a wild guess. Pistachio chocolate has been everywhere this year – largely thanks to the Dubai chocolate trend that exploded on TikTok. Dubai chocolate, which is filled with crispy knafeh, pistachio cream and tahini spread, was first launched by Dubai-based firm Fix Dessrt Chocolatier in 2021. But the sweet treat really took off after influencer Maria Vehera shared a TikTok video of herself trying it, racking up over 120 million views. Suddenly, everyone wanted a bite. The trend sparked a global demand and has even been blamed for contributing to a global pistachio shortage, as brands rushed to create their own pistachio-inspired treats. Lindt launched its own Dubai chocolate-style bar while Aldi launched pistachio creme jars, while plenty of other pistachio products filled supermarket aisles. Still, not everyone is thrilled with another pistachio product. 'As long as it's not based on Dubai chocolate. Sick of hearing of it now,' @polly_199131 wrote under Terry's Chocolate Instagram post. Others suggested the secret flavour could be Caramel, which some fans were quick to point out is already in stores. User @Uknewestfoods commented: 'This can not be the caramel Terry's, which is literally already out in shops? More Trending 'Is it caramel that is already out?', asked @woofidin. The flavour was spotted on the Snack News & Reviews Facebook page last week. It doesn't contain any orange flavour at all. The Caramel treat is only available at Co-op and doesn't seem to be available online yet. Fans said it was 'delicious'. Oasis fan says she slipped in beer yards away from where man fell to his death

Lee Claydon, 45, is believed to have fallen from the venue's upper tier just as the sell-out gig was coming to an end on Saturday night. The dad, from Bournemouth, had gone to the long-awaited show with his brother Aaron, and his niece and nephew but the fan's dad claimed he slipped on spilled beer. Another Oasis concertgoer has since claimed she also slipped on alcohol and said she saw another man, a few rows up from her, fall on her. It comes after a mum was left 'traumatised' after a dog walker pushes her in canal as she cycles to work. Dad's tragic three-word post hours before plunging to his death at Oasis gig Jade, 31, from Essex, claimed she saw other fans suffer from minor injuries after falling in the upper tier of the 90,000 capacity stadium, according to The Sun. The highest stands in the world famous venue can be around 170ft above ground level. Oasis fan Jade claimed as man a few rows above her fell and tumbled into her, causing her to also fall onto the row in front of her, as she complained about alcohol and drunk concertgoers. She said: "The floor was slippery from loads of spilled drinks. My bag got soaked. Everyone in the seated section was jumping and dancing and way drunker than other concerts." She added: "I just got up and carried on. But today I have a dodgy ankle, a few bruises and hurt knees." Other people at the Wembley gig took to social media to complain about the stadium's upper tier. One person, on Facebook, wrote: "The top tier is bloody steep. It's dreadful the barrier is so low." But another fan said: "18 years worth of events, most with 90,000 people attending, and never an incident like it. It's a tragic accident, and blaming it on the venue or security is ridiculous." Medics rushed to Lee and desperately tried to save his life but he tragically died at the scene. His devastated father Clive Claydon, 75, claims his son plunged to his death after slipping on beer, according to The Sun. Clive said: "There was beer all over the floor, it was really slippery, and Lee just slipped and fell. I've been told that it was an accident waiting to happen. It was a horrible, horrible accident. All I really know is there was beer everywhere, he slipped, and we don't know the rest of it. "I wasn't there so I don't know what happened, but it will all come out. I am so devastated. I can't understand how it happened, I've never been to Wembley, but you would expect the health and safety to be good. He has never taken drugs in his life and he may have had a beer, who doesn't at a concert, but he certainly was not drunk." After the news emerged, Oasis said they were "shocked and saddened" to hear of the death during their sell-out Wembley show this weekend. A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: "Wembley Stadium operates to a very high health and safety standard, fully meeting legal requirements for the safety of spectators and staff, and is certified to and compliant with the ISO 45001 standard. We are regularly inspected by certifying authorities both on an event day and throughout the year, and we regularly review and test our plans to ensure adherence to the conditions set within the stadium's general safety certificate. "We work very closely and collaboratively with all relevant event delivery stakeholders - including event owners, local authorities, the Sports Ground Safety Authority and the police - to deliver events to high standards of safety, security and service for everyone attending or working in the venue."

MasterChef star Yanin Campos killed in car crash aged 38 as police launch invest
MasterChef star Yanin Campos has died following a car crash in Mexico, The 38-year-old was reportedly driving in her hometown, Chihuahua, around 6:30 am on August 2 when she hit a parked vehicle. According to local newspaper El Financiero, Campos was rushed to the nearby Hospital del Parque with critical injuries. Sadly, her injuries were too severe and she died two days later. In a Facebook statement, her brother Raúl Campo confirmed the news. 'To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos,' he wrote. 'The wake is at the Hernández Funeral Home for those who would like to say goodbye and join us.' Police in Chihuahua have now opened an investigation to determine what led to the crash. Campos shot to fame after appearing on season 4 of MasterChef México in 2018 and built an impressive following on TikTok and Instagram. While she ultimately placed sixth in the cooking competition, she was invited back to compete on MasterChef: La Revancha in 2019.
