‘Dream of toppling KP govt will never come true'
He emphasised that a genuinely representative government, established on the basis of Form-45, is in place in KP. It is not a fabricated government formed through Form-47 that can be easily dismantled.
Dr Saif asserted that under the leadership of the chief minister, all members of the assembly are united and have full confidence in him.
Every MPA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands as a soldier of Imran Khan, and Ali Amin Gandapur enjoys the complete trust of Imran Khan.
He highlighted that the public has repeatedly rejected opposition parties in the past three general elections. Now, these parties are attempting to fulfill their ambitions through conspiracies rather than through public support.
He further stated that apart from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), all other political parties in KP have been politically wiped out.
Dr Saif said that those involved in conspiracies are living in a delusion. Even if the opposition has secured a few seats as spoils, their aspirations will remain unfulfilled. The conspirators will face disappointment, as there is no possibility of the government being overthrown. All members are united under the chief minister's leadership.
He advised opposition parties to refrain from indulging in grand illusions, as such dreams will only result in disappointment. KP remains a stronghold of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and the public has shown unwavering trust in Imran Khan. This trust will not be compromised under any circumstances.
Dr Saif concluded that the opposition parties will continue to occupy the opposition benches, and their dream of forming a government will never be realised.

K-P CM Gandapur urges consultation before imposing decisions on province

An emergency meeting on the law and order situation was held under the chairmanship of the chief minister. The meeting was attended by members of the PTI parliamentary party, the chief secretary, the inspector general of police, the additional chief secretary, and other relevant officials. During the meeting, the law and order situation was reviewed in light of the Bajaur incident, and the chief minister was briefed by relevant authorities on the latest developments. Following the meeting, CM Gandapur issued a video statement, stating that the provincial government stands by the decisions made during the recent All Parties Conference on peace and security. He said the government is preparing for the implementation of those decisions. Calling the Bajaur incident a tragic event, Gandapur said that military operations against terrorism are causing civilian casualties, which negatively impact public trust. 'These kinds of incidents are eroding public trust in the army, and without public confidence, we cannot win the war against terrorism,' he said. The chief minister said that the security personnel martyred in the war on terror are 'our children too' and are as dear as the civilians of the province. He said flawed policies are preventing proper recognition of these sacrifices and called for a revision of such policies. Local-level jirgas will be held over the next ten days, followed by a grand jirga. Consultations with local elders, elected representatives, and stakeholders will help formulate a future course of action and narrative. Gandapur said that the recommendations from the jirgas would be presented before security officials for a possible review of current policy. He reiterated that the fight against terrorism must be based on public trust. He also expressed reservations regarding the use of 'Action in Aid of Civil Power' and said an assembly session has been called from August 1 to debate this issue, among others, and determine whether it is serving its intended purpose. 'Our clear message is that we stand with the people and will go to every length for them,' the chief minister said. 'This is our province, our land. Wrong decisions should not be imposed on us without consultation.' He assured the public that Imran Khan's party, its workers, and the provincial government stand with them. 'We will not rest until their problems are resolved,' he added. CM Gandapur said he had instructed all deputy commissioners not to impose curfew or Section 144 without prior approval from the Home Department. Earlier, a meeting chaired by the chief minister was held on the law and order situation in Bajaur. Condolences and sympathies were expressed for the families of civilians and security personnel martyred in the incident. The chief minister announced Rs10 million in compensation for the families of each martyred civilian and security official, and Rs2.5 million each for the injured civilians and security personnel.

Sindh CM announces 14-Day Independence celebrations

ECP also de-seats PTI's MNA from Chitral
Listen to article The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday disqualified PTI lawmaker Abdul Latif Chitrali and issued a notification declaring his seat vacant in view of his conviction in a May 9 case. The disqualification petitions against Chitrali were heard by a five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja. Chitrali's lawyer appeared before the commission. During the hearing, the ECP's director general of law stated that the commission is not required to hear petitions against convicted individuals. The CEC asked if it meant that there was no need to hear references or petitions against such individuals. "Then the commission's role is only to act upon received court decisions?" he asked. Chitrali's lawyer contended that the ECP does not receive complaints directly and only the National Assembly speaker can notify it regarding disqualification after hearing the concerned party within the first 30 days. He said the notices they received also did not cite any specific constitutional article. He argued that disqualification is not automatic upon conviction, and the commission must examine whether the offense falls under Articles 63(g) or 63(h) of the Constitution. The ECP member from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa noted that the Constitution clearly states that a person sentenced to more than two years is ineligible to remain a lawmaker. The ECP Punjab member remarked that the Constitution empowers the ECP to decide on references sent by the NA speaker. During the hearing, Chitrali's lawyer referred to the PTI founder's disqualification case and mentioned CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja in that context, prompting laughter in the courtroom. Later, the ECP reserved its decision and announced it would issue a verdict by evening. Subsequently, the ECP rejected Chitrali's petition and declared the NA-1 Chitral seat vacant. An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on May 30 sentenced Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Latif Chitrali to 10-years in prison for attacking a police station during the violent riots that broke out across the country after May 9, 2023 arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan. MNA Abdul Latif Chitrali was elected from NA-1 Chitral with the support of the PTI in Feb 8 polls.
