THE president of Queen's Park has quit due to what he claims is 'an increased level of personal and online abuse'.
Graeme Shields has stood down from that role and his position on the Championship club's committee with immediate effect.

But the club is facing an uncertain future after Willie Haughey chose to end his financial backing

The Spiders have endured a turbulent time both on and off the pitch over the past six months.
Callum Davidson was sacked as boss just WEEKS after leading the team to a famous Scottish Cup win over Rangers at Ibrox.
Sean Crighton was appointed as his replacement in May after helping the interim coaching team avoid relegation with an eighth-placed finish.
The team - now back playing at Lesser Hampden after leaving the main stadium next door - opened this season with a draw away to Raith Rovers before losing 3-1 at home to Arbroath yesterday.

Queen's are also facing an uncertain period off the field after SunSport revealed back in March that Willie Haughey was going to pull his financial backing of the historic club in 2026.
His support allowed the club to end its famous amateur status and become a full-time professional set-up in 2020 while he also spent millions developing Lesser Hampden into the venue now known as the City Stadium and transformed their current Lochinch training base.
The club announced in May that they have been spending almost £6m a year – with Shields telling fans Queen's would need to make around £4.7m in savings to cope with Haughey's departure at the end of the season.
The Spiders have also closed down their academy to try to make more cost reductions.

These moves have brought the club's hierarchy under fire from supporters unhappy with how things are being run.
And Shields claims the abuse has now got too much and stepped away from the club he's supported for 40 years.

He said: 'I have taken this decision after much deliberation, particularly having experienced an increased level of personal and online abuse towards myself and others associated with the club in recent months.
'Having overseen the successful completion of our safety certificate at the City Stadium and the SFA annual club licencing audit, the time is now right to step away.

'I wish Sean Crighton and all the players and staff at the club every success this season.'
The news was welcomed by some Queen's fans.
One reacted to the announcement on X by saying: 'A disgrace of a president who has treated the fans with utter contempt throughout his term.
'He takes as much accountability as all the others with the current mess of the club.'

Nobel Mendy to Rangers transfer latest as two fresh details emerge
The centre-back is set to become the 10th signing of the summer at Ibrox as Russell Martin's rebuild takes another step forward Defender Nobel Mendy has reportedly missed Real Betis training as he inches closer to a move to Rangers. The 20-year-old is set to become Russell Martin 's 10th signing of the summer, with Gers set to pay around £3.5million to bring him to Ibrox. The left-sided defender has also been linked to fellow La Liga side Rayo Vallecano but the Senegalese player has his heart set on joining Rangers. And reports in Spain have now revealed the details of the agreement – with Betis set to insert a 20 per cent sell-on clause in Mendy's contract when a move to the Scottish Premiership gets over the line. Marca claim that Betis had originally been pushing for 50 per cent sell-on clause to be made part of the deal. Earlier this week Betis director Manu Fajardo confirmed that they have received two offers from "major" clubs and that a deal to sell Mendy could be finalised imminently. Speaking at a press conference, he said: "As of today, we have two formal offers from two major clubs. The player's willingness will be important. We hope to finalise the deal in the next few hours." Man Utd in talks to complete midfielder transfer after making Carlos Baleba swap decision
Manchester United made it clear to Brighton that Toby Collyer was not available in any Carlos Baleba swap deal with the midfielder instead poised to go to West Brom on loan Manchester United are close to sanctioning Toby Collyer's loan departure with the midfielder set to join West Brom temporarily after Brighton were told he was not going to be used in any deal for Carlos Baleba. The Red Devils have made their interest in the Cameroon midfielder known but the Seagulls are wanting around £100million before they sanction his departure. Those sort of funds are unlikely to be available at Old Trafford given their summer spree. It was suggested that United could use Collyer to lower Baleba's price tag, but according to Manchester Evening News, he will not be involved in any negotiations. Instead the 21-year-old is set to join the Baggies as he looks to aid their Championship promotion push and his own personal development, reports the Athletic. The likes of Harvey Barnes have previously excelled after spending time on loan at the Hawthorns. Several second tier clubs were keen on Collyer but West Brom, where Ryan Mason is now manager, look to have won the race, which puts pay to Brighton's hopes of re-signing the midfielder. The United star was part of their pre-season trip to the United States and admitted he was ready to talk with club bosses over what was best for all parties. "I'll sit down with the manager and higher-ups and see what's the best solution for that. The best way for me to develop, whether it's stay here or go on loan," he said. Collyer came through the ranks at Brighton before leaving in 2022 and those in Manchester were surprised when the chance to sign him came up. He was considered one of the best midfielders in his age group and United jumped at the chance to snap him up. Collyer was born in Worthing, just 10 miles from Brighton, and was destined for a first-team spot at the Amex until he was released. Ruben Amorim's system in Manchester only allows for two midfielders to play - and one of those is likely to be captain and talisman Bruno Fernandes. The central midfielder made 19 first-team appearances for United last season. His most memorable contribution came in January's victory at Fulham when he cleared the ball off the line to help land a 1-0 win.
