MSU baseball gets past Minnesota on walk-off, keeps Big Ten Tournament hopes alive
Michigan State baseball is keeping their 2025 season alive, winning on senior night in dramatic fashion. The Spartans defeated the Golden Gophers, 11-10.
MSU needed to find a way to get past Minnesota this weekend in order to play in the Big Ten Tournament, and after dropping the first two games of the series, it was do-or-die for Michigan State. The Spartans prevailed.
After blowing an early 9-5 lead, the Spartans gave up a run in the top of the ninth to fall behind, 10-9. In the bottom half of the inning, Noah Bright opened things up with a lead off single. A couple of Spartans got on via a walk and a hit by pitch, and then it was MSU's time to pounce.
A Jacob Anderson single tied the game at 10, setting up the Spartans for a game winner. Randy Seymour stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out - he delivered a game winner.
Seymour singled to center field, scoring Parker Picot, and delivering MSU a victory in their final regular season game of 2025. The Spartans defeated the Golden Gophers, 11-10.
Michigan State will now await the result of Northwestern's game against UCLA. If the the Wildcats win, MSU is eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament and Northwestern will be taking the last spot. If Northwestern loses, Michigan State will sneak their way into Omaha next weekend.
Either way, Michigan State will conclude their 2025 season with a record of 28-25 (13-17 B1G).

Michigan State Spartans Extend Offer to 3-Star Cornerback Recruit Amarion Queen To Deepen Defensive Secondary

Michigan State Spartans Extend Offer to 3-Star Cornerback Recruit Amarion Queen To Deepen Defensive Secondary originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The class of 2026 recruiting class for the Michigan State Spartans is heavy on offense with only four of its 12 recruits playing on the defensive side of the ball. Advertisement Looking to shift that trend, the Spartans extended an offer to a cornerback from Stuart, Fla. Michigan State's secondary coach Blue King/Lansing State Journal/USA TODAY NETWORK Amarion Queen, the 3-star cornerback from Martin County High School, posted to X with the news of the Spartans' interest after his conversation with secondary coach Blue Adams. Initially, Queen was committed to USF, but just recently reopened his commitment on June 7. Michigan State is one of the two top teams eyeing the cornerback. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he's the No. 120 cornerback overall and No. 170 out of Florida. While these spots might not be impressive, Michigan State's defensive class of recruits is only slowly piecing together. Head coach Jonathan Smith's recruiting resume is also just starting to grow without suffering any decommitments. Advertisement Outside of cornerback, Queen also plays wide receiver at Martin County. He totaled 413 yards on 18 catches with five touchdowns. On the defensive end, he totaled 22 tackles, five pass break-ups, and three interceptions. Queen would be joining the other 3-star secondaries, K.J. Deriso, Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, and Brayden Thomas. Per Michigan State Spartans On SI, a group of four to five secondary defenders is Michigan State's goal with this recruiting class. It will be crucial for Smith and Adams to schedule a visit for Queen in East Lansing. Currently, the Spartans are up against Purdue, the other likely home for the cornerback.
