Pi Day 2025: Where to get deals on pizza and pies in Arizona
Pi Day, the one-of-a-kind math holiday, is Friday, March 14, giving people a chance to nerd out and enjoy baked goods or pizza.
The special holiday celebrates the mathematical constant pi (π), which is approximately 3.14. However, since Pi represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, it is an irrational number, meaning it has an infinite amount of digits.
While we currently know more than 105 trillion digits of Pi, only a few decimal places are used regularly. According to Live Science, scientists with NASA use about 15 decimal places to calculate planetary travel.
Pi Day was first celebrated in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw at the San Francisco Exploratorium. Congress designated it an official holiday in 2009.
This upcoming Pi Day marks the 147th birthday of the legendary physicist Albert Einstein.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse will offer a pizza cookie BOGO deal on March 14. When dine-in customers purchase one regular, full-size pizza cookie, they can get a second one for $3.14.
Schlotzky's is offering Rewards Members a pizza or flatbread for $3.14 on March 14. The offer is valid online or in-store at participating locations.
Famous Dave's is offering a free slice of Bakers Square pie with a $10 minimum purchase on March 14.

Sauce Pizza and Wine is holding a "Pi Week" event. From Friday, March 14, through Friday, March 20, cheese pizzas will be $3.14 at all locations for rewards members only. Rewards members will receive their Pi Week offer in the app on March 14, which will be redeemable for a one-time purchase of up to two Pi Day pizzas on a single check. Additionally, each customer taking advantage of the deal on Pi Day will receive a code, redeemable in the Blaze Pizza app, that unlocks another buy one, get one for $3.14 redeemable through the end of March.
Marco's Pizza customers can get a medium 1-topping pizza for $3.14 with the purchase of any large or extra-large menu-priced pizza, with code "PIDAY." The offer is available for online and app orders only, according to the company.
Rock Springs Cafe will offer $3.14 off of any pie on March 14 in-store only. According to a Facebook post, the restaurant will have plenty of their best-selling bourbon pecan pie in stock.

Axiom private mission to ISS delayed because of weather
June 9 (UPI) -- SpaceX, NASA and Axiom Space postponed Tuesday's scheduled launch of the fourth private astronaut mission to the International Space Station because of unfavorable weather conditions in the Dragon spacecraft's flight path. The Axiom Mission 4 launch had been scheduled for 8:22 a.m. Tuesday from the Kennedy Space Center's pad 39A, NASA said in a news release Monday. This would be the first time ISRO will send an astronaut to the space station as well as ESA astronauts from Hungary and Poland. The crew members plan to conduct 60 scientific experiments and demonstrations "focused on human research, Earth observation, and life, biological, and material sciences," according to SpaceX. Axiom Space, which is based in Houston and founded in 2016, is building the first commercial space station with deployment planned in the late 2020s.
