[Sat, 10 May 2025 17:13:37 +0300]Hodeidah – Saba:A meeting in Hodeidah governorate today, attended by Transport Minister Mohammed Qahim, Oil and Mineral Resources Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir, and Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Attifi, reviewed the operational status of Hodeidah and Ras Issa ports and plans to enhance their capacity to receive fuel and cargo ships.The meeting examined field reports on the damage inflicted on the ports' infrastructure due to recent U.S.-Zionist airstrikes, as well as ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and restore critical facilities to ensure the continuity of maritime activity and logistical services.Discussions also addressed emergency measures taken to mitigate damage and maintain the supply of essential goods, alongside mechanisms to improve coordination among relevant authorities to enhance operational efficiency and expedite ship clearance procedures.The meeting further reviewed proposed plans to expand reception and unloading capacities and discussed solutions to challenges facing technical and administrative port personnel.Ministers Qahim and Al-Amir praised the resilience of workers at Hodeidah and Ras Issa ports, commending their sustained efforts to keep maritime facilities operational despite exceptional circumstances. They emphasized that the ports remain a vital lifeline for the Yemeni people.Both ministers stressed the need for intensified coordination with international bodies to document the aggression's crimes against civilian ports and push for practical steps to rehabilitate infrastructure, reinforcing the country's food and economic security.Earlier, the ministers and governor inspected operations at Ras Issa and Hodeidah ports, confirming the continued arrival of ships and regular operations.
