Warner Bros. lays off jobs in Motion Picture Group post company split
Washington DC [US], August 1 (ANI): The Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group will be enacting a round of layoffs that will see job cuts across its marketing, production strategy, operational and theatre ventures divisions, reported Variety. According to the outlet, roughly 10% of the studio's workforce will be impacted. This move comes as Warner Bros. Discovery, the studio's parent company, is preparing to split itself into two, reported Variety. The new publicly traded companies will be Warner Bros., which will include the film division as well as the TV studios and streaming operations, while another part called Discovery Global will comprise TV networks, Discovery and other assets, reported Variety. In a note to staff, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy said the studio began an assessment of the studio's "current structure" earlier in 2025, reported Variety. "The exploration led to important conversations and insights to better understand how we reach audiences, what fundamental shifts should be implemented as teams work together across the world to collectively engage today's moviegoers, and what the division needs to be successful," the pair wrote as quoted by Variety. The note concluded with De Luca and Abdy writing, "We know news like this is never easy, and we are tremendously grateful to our departing team members whose contributions throughout their time at Warner Bros. Pictures have made a lasting impact on both of us, and so many of you. They each have a lot to be proud of," as quoted by Variety. After a rough start to 2025 with the flops of Robert Pattinson starrer 'Mickey 17' and 'The Alto Knights', Warner Bros. has rebounded handsomely with the major hits such as 'Sinners' starring Michael B Jordan and 'A Minecraft Movie'. This month, the studio released "Superman," which has grossed more than 500 million USD globally. (ANI)

Bad news for Urvashi Rautela as she lost jewellery worth Rs 70 lakhs from..., accuses...
Bad news for Urvashi Rautela, as she lost jewellery worth Rs 70 lakhs from..., accuses... In an industry where fame is often associated with wealth. Public figures often walk a tightrope between luxury and sensitivity. But among the many actors that own some prized possessions, there is one actress who has often made headlines for her bold fashion statements and extravagant lifestyle, but in recent months, it's not her films or outfits that have created a buzz; rather, it's her back-to-back luxury mishaps and a controversial comment during a sensitive time that have brought her under sharp public scrutiny. Urvashi Rautela Luxury Mishap A few months ago, Urvashi Rautela was creating a buzz on social media for her insensitive comment during the promotion of her film at the start of 2025. While fans and the industry were dealing with the shocking stabbing of actor Saif Ali Khan, she seemed detached and overly focused on flaunting her expensive gifts. During an interview with ANI, she was asked to share her views on the incident, but instead of showing some sympathy or concern, she took away from the magnanimity of the situation. She said: 'It is very unfortunate. Now, Daaku Maharaaj has crossed Rs. 105 crore at the box office, and my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex. In contrast, my father gifted me this mini watch on my finger, but we don't feel confident wearing it outside openly. There is this insecurity that anybody can attack us. Whatever happened was very unfortunate.' The internet didn't take kindly to her words, accusing her of being out of touch with reality and insensitive to the gravity of the situation. This wasn't the only time she made headlines for her luxurious life. In 2023, Urvashi shocked social media by announcing that she had lost her 24-carat real gold iPhone at the Narendra Modi Stadium during a World Cup match. She posted: 'Lost my 24-carat real gold iPhone at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad! If anyone comes across it, please help. Contact me ASAP.' Then, in 2025, during her trip to London for the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, there was another headline. She claimed that her Christian Dior brown baggage, reportedly containing jewellery worth ₹70 lakh, was stolen at London's Gatwick Airport. She wrote: 'As a Platinum Emirates Member and a global artist attending Wimbledon, I am deeply disheartened to report that our Christian Dior brown baggage was stolen from the baggage belt at London Gatwick Airport, following our Emirates flight from Mumbai.' While Urvashi's fans sympathized with her losses, some also questioned her repeated emphasis on luxury, especially during times of public grief or unrest.
