Man arrested for parole violation, prohibited driving: Summerside police
An officer saw a white Jeep being operated erratically in the area of Woodridge Place subdivision on Wednesday around 11:30 a.m., according to a social media post from Summerside Police Service.
Police also received a complaint from the public involving the same Jeep.
'The driver of the vehicle was known to police, a 30 year old man known to be on federal parole and known to be prohibited from operating motor vehicles on a Canada-wide prohibition,' reads the post.
Police say they did not initiate a traffic stop because the suspect had fled from officers on previous occasions, and they felt it would be a risk to the public.
The man was arrested at a residence in Woodridge Place on Thursday around 9:20 a.m. for a parole warrant, as well as driving while prohibited.
The man is in custody and police say the driving related charges are pending.
