'Foundation Of...': After Asim Munir, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Invokes 2-Nation Theory
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday echoed Army chief Asim Munir's opinion and validated the 'Two-Nation Theory", which is the foundation of their country.
In his Independence Day message, Sharif claimed that the recent four-day border flare-up with India and 'Marka-e-Haq" by Islamabad was a historic victory for his country. However, India, on multiple occasions, has dismissed the rhetoric as political posturing far removed from operational facts on the ground.
Notably, Operation Sindoor was launched on the intervening night of May 6-7 to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack. In retaliation to the terror attack, the Indian armed forces struck terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Wishing his countrymen 78 years of independence of Pakistan, Shatif took to X and wrote, 'Pakistan's historic victory in Marka-e-Haq during the four-day war imposed by India has not only reinforced the sanctity of our freedom, but has also instilled a renewed sense of ambition and national spirit in the hearts of our people, magnifying the pride and fervour of this Independence Day."
'With the blessings of Almighty Allah, our brave armed forces revived their past glory and shattered the false pride of enemy by acting as a Bunyan-um-Marsoos – a solid fortified wall. The military capability, valour and faith of our brave soldiers and air warriors forced the enemy to kneel down."
'We pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our freedom and offer prayers for the elevation of their ranks in eternal life. It was not merely a military conquest, but also the victory of the validation of a Two-Nation Theory, which is the foundation of our dear homeland. With same passion, we stand vigilant to defend and safeguard our national interests including water resources," he added.

Notably, Sharif's statement came after Pakistan army chief General Asim Munir last month highlighted the 'two-nation theory', stating that Muslims and Hindus are two different nations.
Munir's remarks came after he had described Kashmir as Pakistan's 'jugular vein" during a diaspora event and asked overseas Pakistanis to pass on the country's story to their children, emphasising that their forefathers believed Hindus and Muslims were different in every possible aspect of life.

In Bengal, Matuas line up in millions for citizenship under CAA
Amidst opposition protests, the Matua community in West Bengal is actively applying for Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Organizations and the BJP are assisting Matuas and other refugees excluded from the 2002 voter list. Camps are being organized to raise awareness and help with applications. Remove Ads At a time when the national opposition is protesting alleged "vote theft" and the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, millions of applications for Indian citizenship under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, are pouring in from the Matua community across West organisations of Matuas - a socio-religious group of Hindus who migrated from Bangladesh due to religious persecution - along with the state BJP leadership , are working overtime to ensure Matuas and other refugees not listed in the state's voter rolls post 2002 SIR apply for citizenship under the CAA with the required documents."CAA applications will cross one crore people from the Matua community as a large number of people don't have names in the 2002 voter list," All India Matua Mahasangha general secretary Mahitosh Baidya told CAA allows migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis or Christians to obtain Indian camps are being held across the state to create awareness and assist people with the application process, people aware of the matter minister Sukanta Majumdar has organised one such camp at his residence in Balurghat for CAA awareness. PM launches 'Sudarshan Chakra' Mission for national security shield

While further details are yet to be shared, the comprehensive system is likely to include different elements of modern warfare, including cyber defence and offence, space-based assets, close range and long range anti drone systems, offensive drone capabilities and integration of a tri service missile force.
