While the Rajdhani Express is not the fastest train operated by the Indian Railways, its is the highest-earning train for the national transporter. According to data revealed by the Indian Railways, the KSR Bengaluru Rajdhani Express, which runs from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi to KSR Bengaluru City Junction, is its top revenue earner.
The express train raked in Rs 1,76,06,66,339 for the Indian Railways in the financial year 2022-23, with 509,510 people travelling in the train during this period, as per the data. Top revenue-earners for Indian Railways
Besides the KSR Bengaluru Rajdhani Express, other top revenue-earning trains for Indian Railways are the Sealdah Rajdhani Express, which runs between New Delhi and Kolkata. The Sealdah Rajdhani Express earned Rs 1,28,81,69,274 in the 2022-23 fiscal year, carrying 509,164 passengers.
The Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, which runs between New Delhi and Dibrugarh in Assam, is India's third most profitable trains, making Rs 1,26,29,09,697, and carrying 474,605 passengers, in FY 2022-23.
The Mumbai Tejas Rajdhani Express sits at the fourth spot among Indian Railways' top earners. The train, which carried over 4,85,794 passengers from New Delhi and Mumbai Central and vice-versa, in the 2022-23 fiscal, earned Rs 122 crore during the period.
While new modern trains like the Vande Bharat have undoubtedly strengthened India's rail network, but its the workhorses like Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express, which continue to remain the backbone of Indian Railways.

IT giant Wipro announced on Monday that it has shifted its Middle East regional headquarters from Al Khobar to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Bengaluru-based company also revealed the appointment of Mohamed Mousa as Managing Director for the Middle East, operating from the newly established headquarters, as per a regulatory filing. The new office is the latest addition to Wipro's presence in the country, which includes offices in Riyadh, Al Khobar, Jeddah, and Jubail. Further, Wipro said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Riyadh. The CoE aims to train local talent through academic training in advanced technologies, hands-on-experience, and access to Wipro's resources. CHENNAI: The Vadapalani bus terminus, one of Chennai's busiest transit points, is set for a major overhaul. Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML) - a joint venture between Chennai Metro Rail Limited and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation - has floated tenders for redeveloping the 6.65acre site into a modern multimodal hub and commercial complex. Located along the high-traffic Arcot Road corridor, the existing depot handles over 158 buses and 1,100 daily services. The redevelopment, which is likely to cost more than Rs 480 crore, will feature a ground-level transit hub with five boarding bays and two alighting bays. It will also offer dual access points from Arcot Road for terminal users and Kumaran Colony Main Road for commercial traffic.
