Prince Albert death investigation deemed homicide
A death investigation that began on Tuesday afternoon in Prince Albert, has now been deemed a homicide.
Officers and Parkland Ambulance responded to the 1500 block of 5th Avenue East for a report of a dead man around 3:30 p.m., according to a release from the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS).
Upon arrival, officers located the man's body and called in the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to the scene.
Police say an autopsy was completed on July 30, and the man has been identified as 39-year-old Wayne Keller.
His next of kin has been notified. This is the city's 3rd homicide of 2025.
According to the police, at this time no arrests have been made, and they continue to investigate.
Anyone with information or who has recent contact with Keller is asked to contact police.

The accused is charged with two counts of assault, assault with a weapon, theft, mischief and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. Initial confrontation escalates According to police, the incident began on the afternoon of Aug. 3 at about 3:15 p.m. when the accused approached the store and engaged with two employees outside. 'The individual became agitated during an interaction regarding store services,' police said in a news release. 'He then chased one of the employees into the store and assaulted them before the victim fled the scene.' After stealing merchandise, the suspect briefly pursued the employee before returning to the store. By then, a second worker had secured the door, prompting the accused to smash a window before fleeing. Witnesses intervene in second incident Later that day, the accused returned and was again denied entry. Police said that according to witnesses, he grew aggressive, stealing a tool from a nearby commercial vehicle and threatening to use it as a weapon. When another individual attempted to intervene, the accused allegedly assaulted them. 'Witnesses were able to detain him until North Bay Police Service officers arrived on scene,' authorities said, adding police then took the suspect into custody. Week-long investigation in wooded area near Barrie encampment continues

Woman killed in crash involving gravel truck west of Edmonton
An RCMP cruiser can be seen in this file photo. A woman is dead after a weekend crash involving a semi. Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 at Range Road 43 west of Edmonton at 2:05 p.m. on Monday. A 21-year-old woman who had been driving a Jeep was found dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a gravel truck, had minor injuries. Police say the gravel truck was turning north onto Range Road 43 when it was hit by the Jeep. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors.
