It changes how coding looks and feels in the age of AI, low-code tools, and learning that is led by creators. So, what does it mean to vibe code? Vibe coding is the art of writing code that feels natural, creative, collaborative, and entertaining. People who make content and livestreams Creators streamed their coding sessions on sites like YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok, using lo-fi tunes, interesting UI designs, and laid-back commentary. Gen Z and millennial students connected. 3. The rise of low-code and GenAI With tools like Bubble, Glide, Replit, Framer, and AI platforms like ChatGPT, LearnML, and Vercel AI SDK, it was easier to make apps, websites, and automations. As these factors came together, a new group of coders emerged. They didn't have to have a CS degree, but they wanted to develop quickly, learn swiftly, and look good doing it. Where Is Vibe Coding Being Used? Vibe coding isn't only about looks; it's being used in a lot of other fields: 1. Indie Hackers and Creative Tech Vibe coding is a quick way for creators and indie developers to make MVPs and landing pages, notably in music, fashion, gaming, and productivity. 2. New businesses and side projects Entrepreneurs are using vibe coding tools like Replit and ChatGPT to make prototypes of AI tools, portfolio sites, bots, and even commercial SaaS products. 3. Not as scary It goes against the idea that coding is hard, uninteresting, or exclusively for people who are good at math. 3. Very expressive Vibe coders see code as art and make it their own by customizing themes, adding music, and making it their own. 4. Build first, then think. It promotes experimenting based on curiosity instead of tutorials that are full of theory. 5. Open and welcoming You don't need a degree in computer science. Only Wi-Fi, curiosity, and rudimentary tools. ⚠️ Things to watch out for: Not a profound understanding If you rely too much on AI ideas, you may not understand basic logic very well. Vibe Coding is great for: • Students who want to build portfolios and get internships • Freelancers who want to get things done faster with fewer tools • Non-tech founders who want to make MVPs • Designers and marketers who want to learn no-code and AI skills • Prompt engineers who want to make GenAI workflows But even experienced engineers can benefit from Vibe setups for quick prototyping, testing AI agents, or just taking a break from "serious" coding. Here is what you need to know before starting with Vibe Coding: You can't just plug in and play with Vibe Coding. To do well, you need to know the basics of programming (JS/Python is useful). • A decent code editor, such as Replit or VS Code with extensions • You should know how to use GitHub and understand version control. • AI copilots, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Codeium, are tools that assist with coding tasks. • Tools that don't need a lot of coding, such as Glide, Webflow, Bubble, and • Communities like Discord, YouTube coding channels, and Reddit forums • Have a good taste in music or enjoy relaxing YouTube playlists! How do tech companies benefit from this? Tech firms, especially those that work in edtech, productivity, or tools, can learn a lot from and help the Vibe Coding movement. 1. Finding talent Vibe developers are creative, quick, and they frequently learn on their own. They make live portfolios that are perfect for jobs in product, frontend, no-code, or AI assistants. 2. Rethinking the Developer Experience (DevX) People appreciate GitHub Copilot, Replit, Codeium, and Framer because these tools help users achieve a flow state. Companies should make sure that their APIs, SDKs, and platforms meet the needs of this generation. 3. Improving skills and using internal tools Internal teams can leverage Vibe workflows to teach citizen developers and automate simple activities with low-code and GenAI. 4. Market Positioning Companies that employ vibe coding in their design, documentation, onboarding, and other areas will draw in Gen Z users, creators, and early adopters. How Vibe Coding and AI Are Very Similar AI is what makes Vibe Coding possible. It fuels the tools, makes them easier to use, and lets people interact with code in this new way. This is how: AI is a coding partner, not just a tool. Vibe coders see AI helpers like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Replit Ghostwriter, and Claude as partners, not simply tools. These technologies help with the following: • Functions that finish themselves • Break down complicated code • Offer suggestions for best practices • Fix and improve the logic. • Make boilerplate code or even whole UI layouts. This lets programmers keep their "vibe" going while AI does the hard work. 2. The New Syntax is Natural Language. Vibe developers don't memorize syntax; instead, they write out what they want in simple English and let AI build the framework. Large language models (LLMs) make it possible to go from "writing code" to "prompting code." This means "Make a responsive navbar with a logo and login button" is now easy to turn into usable HTML/CSS in seconds. 3. GenAI Sparks Prototyping and Creativity With AI tools that create code, images, videos, text, and data changes, Vibe developers can build entire applications with minimal effort. This speeds up innovation and experimentation, which is what the vibe movement is all about. 4. AI Makes Vibe Coding Easy to learn. AI makes things fair for everyone. Students, freelancers, artists, and others who don't code can now build: • By changing templates and using tools that ask questions, you can create chatbots, AI agents, portfolio sites, and automation scripts without needing extensive coding knowledge. 5. AI Promotes a "Learn by Doing" Way of Thinking Vibe developers typically learn by working with AI, asking it questions, constructing things with it, and fixing them together. This way of learning by talking is extremely different from using textbooks. AI is not only a tool for vibe coding; it is what makes it happen. Vibe Coding is a mix of coding, creativity, AI assistants, and flow. The Vibe is Real: A Final Thought Coding isn't the end of traditional programming; it's the start of a new coding culture that is more creative, open, and AI-enhanced. It's not about getting rid of developers. It's about giving more individuals the tools they need to code without being afraid and with delight. Punters playing bingo online on Monday night were shocked when they scooped big prizes, thinking their 'lucky day had finally come'. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Single mum Natasha Varcoe, 23 was affected by the 'technical glitch' 4 Players thought they had won big only to be left disappointed Thrilled business owner Jacqui Norrish thought she'd bagged £9,599.47 while playing the game Monday night. But the 41-year-old from Torbay, Devon, received an email from Gala Bingo stating: 'Unfortunately, due to a technical error on Monday 4th August 2025, your account was incorrectly credited with Bingo winnings.' Fuming, Jacqui told The Sun: 'It's absolutely outrageous how big companies can play with people's lives like this, it's disgraceful. 'I'm a fairly regular player with Gala Bingo, but I don't pay big stakes or anything. 'I started playing at 4.30pm on Monday and got my first big win at about 7.20pm, for well over £1,200, I couldn't believe my luck. 'Then I got another win 20 minutes later for £2,280 and was already spending the money in my head. 'Then I won £1,600, £2400 and then another prize of £1,800. 'I won a few more prizes before it stopped, I had almost £10k in my account.' Jacqui said she saw other 'winners' asking the Gala chat host whether the prizes were genuine and it responded that they were, adding, 'enjoy your winnings'. She immediately withdrew the cash from her Gala account only to discover the money never made it to her bank account 'I was going to pay to get my daughter tested for autism because the NHS wait is so long and I'd planned to pay the rest of my husband's car off,' she said, adding: 'I'm absolutely gutted. When you've been told you've won something and then it's snatched away, it makes you feel terrible.' Pensioner Jill Douthwaite, 72, from Edenbridge, Kent, won £2,700 on the online game and hoped to use her winnings to pay for an op for her Collie-cross Cooper. 4 The winners desperately contacted Gala Bingo to resolve the issue 'I was so relieved because I thought I could spend £500 to save my dog's eyesight,' she said. 'We're a family who can't afford to go on holidays and we've been struck with a lot of bad luck in the past too. 'My daughter even phoned her dad to say she could repay his loan for the car, but then she had to go back on her word because Gala Bingo did.' Banking customer service agent Joseph Morphus, 21, said he clocked an unusual amount of people winning big in the chat on Monday. He said: 'It was extremely weird, people were getting such big amounts, and as a runner up I got £1,000 having literally bet pennies. 'The withdrawal process went normally, but then it never arrived and in the morning my account had been closed.' Last month, Joseph, from Nottingham, Notts, suffered a brain bleed after he was injured playing football, so had been surviving on sick leave pay. 'It's been really tough, I've been really short of cash, and the win was like a breath of fresh air,' he said. But now he's fuming, adding: 'It's ridiculous, it's their problem, the fat cats are sitting in their mansions and now they're not paying what's ours." Single mum Natasha Varcoe, 23, from Sherborne, Dorset, is also gutted after bagging £5,000 having bet just a fiver. She planned to spend the cash on driving lessons so she could see more of her parents who live an hour away. Disappointed, she said: 'It might not be much to other people, but we've just moved into a council house and I don't have any carpets.' While mum Victoria Geer, 28, said when her screen flashed a runner up reward of £2,400 on Monday, she screeched to her partner Ryan, a drainage engineer, that she'd won. 'It was bananas, it then happened twice more, I just couldn't believe it,' she recalls. When she won £7,200 off a £15 stake, she decided to cash in and planned to take her family on holiday, but no money arrived. Since the false prize bonanza, angry customers have taken to TrustPilot to rate Gala Bingo one star and hundreds have vented their anger in online groups. One user wrote: 'Like a lot of people last night who apparently won big money absolutely disgusted at how this can happen. We paid to play, didn't we!' While another said: 'They like taking your money but don't like paying out.' Gala Bingo sent a message to customers informing them they would not receive their winnings, but would be refunded what they spent on Bingo Tickets. The firm says the technical glitch happened on Monday night, causing chaos for around two hours. It has contacted the Gambling Commission over the incident. A Gala Bingo spokesperson said: "We apologise to customers for a technical error which occurred during our Summer Nights Bingo promotion for a short period of time, resulting in all players receiving incorrect payouts. "Our customer Terms and Conditions clearly state that in the event of a malfunction, winnings can be voided. "Affected players have been contacted directly with a gesture of goodwill."

Review: The London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Usher Hall
The 1995 work is a modern showpiece for symphony orchestra, as performances by the BBC SSO and National Youth Orchestra of Scotland have demonstrated, and it was a fine introduction to all the sections of the London Philharmonic here, especially the ensemble sound of the basses and the clarity of the wind soloists. The rest of the programme was box office gold, Holst's Planet Suite taking up the second half and the large orchestra occupying every square inch of platform in front of the audience-filled choir stalls. Somewhere offstage the National Youth Choir of Scotland made another memorable contribution to the Festival with the final Neptune movement's ethereal wordless chorus, which now seems redolent of a much healthier 20th century fascination with our Solar System. Elsewhere in the work, classical allusions emerge as readily as scientific ones, from the martial opening of Mars through the popular hymnic theme of joy-bringer Jupiter to the magical exchanges of Uranus. All the details of the marvellous orchestration, including a stellar percussion section, two harps and celesta, and rare sounds like that of the bass oboe, were apparent in Gardner's efficient reading, even if it lacked a little in the way of burnished edge. READ MORE: The first half performance of Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Italian pianist Beatrice Rana was also much less flashy than it is often played, and none the worse for that. It is a keyboard show-pony's favourite, but Rana was having none of that in a measured, lyrical reading that allowed the orchestra's first oboe and other soloists their place in the spotlight and featured as beautiful an expression of the Andante Cantabile slow variation as one might hope to hear. The wonder of the work is how the 25 variations flow into one another and from soloist to orchestra and back, so having them enumerated and named in supertitles as well as on the thin free printed programme seemed a pointless distraction. And projecting the composer's programme note for Forest in the same way during the first viola's opening solo at the concert's start was just plain rude.
