NEW YORK (PIX11) — Saturday night will once again feel frigid, as temperatures are expected to dip below freezing.
In response, the Department of Homeless Services has issued a Code Blue Weather Emergency until 8 a.m. Sunday.
More Local News
Shelters and drop-in centers will be available city-wide for the homeless and those seeking shelter. No one will be denied shelter during a Code Blue.
The NYCDHS will deploy outreach teams to assist homeless individuals. If you encounter a homeless person in the cold, please call 311, and an outreach team will be sent to that location.
Fortunately, Saturday night appears to be the last time temperatures are expected to dip below freezing in the coming days.

The PIX11 forecast for next week has the highs reaching the mid-50s and even 60s by Monday. Daily lows are projected to linger around 40 degrees.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – New Yorkers hoping to see Manhattanhenge on Wednesday may not have the chance to due to cloudy skies and showers. Rain is expected to start coming down early Wednesday evening, according to PIX11 meteorologists. More Local News Manhattanhenge is when the sun perfectly aligns with the city grid as it sets, according to the American Museum of Natural History. Anyone with doubts about the weather can try to see the half-sun phenomenon at 8:13 p.m. The American Museum of Natural History recommends 14th Street, 23rd Street, 34th Street, 42nd Street, 57th Street, the Tudor City Overpass and Hunter's Point South Park as the best places to view Manhattanhenge. Spectators can try again on Thursday, when the full-sun Manhattanhenge is expected. A partial clearing of showers is possible by the afternoon, according to PIX11 meteorologists. NEW YORK (PIX11) — It was a pleasant end to Memorial Day weekend across the area as temperatures rose back to seasonable levels and the sun was out in full force. Central Park saw an afternoon high of 73 degrees, which is about average for this time of year. The 70's were plentiful throughout New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut as well. However, some coastal locations stayed in the 60s. Look for conditions to remain quite mild across the area this evening. Temperatures will drop into the low and mid 60s. A few 50s may be seen north and west of the city. Skies will primarily be partly cloudy. In addition, a stray light shower is possible in northeastern New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut. Clouds will then increase tomorrow as our next storm system approaches the region. Showers are likely from Wednesday through Thursday morning.
