VALCOURT, QC, Aug. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ - Sea-Doo, a brand of BRP Inc. (TSX: DOO) (NASDAQ: DOOO), continues to push the boundaries of what personal watercraft (PWC) life on the water can be through innovative new connectivity features and improvements to the entire Sea-Doo lineup. The award-winning Sea-Doo Switch with its unique blend of accessibility, affordability and modularity continues to provide fun for the whole family with more power than ever before with the addition of the 300 hp supercharged Rotax 1630 ACE engine to various configurations of the Switch family. We listen carefully to their feedback and respond through continuous improvements to our products featuring innovative and industry-leading technologies with the goal of making our communities feel closer than ever before," says James Heintz, Global Product Strategy Director, Sea-Doo and Vehicle Connectivity. Taking PWC Connectivity to the Next LevelRiding a Sea-Doo is all about the experience and sharing it with a community of like-minded friends. So, for 2026, more models are getting the intuitive 10.25'' Touchscreen Display. Customizable with smart connectivity functions, it shows driving stats, compass, marine navigation with the BRP GO! App which can be enhanced with a Navionics™ subscription, music, and more. First introduced on the 2025 GTX Limited 325, the larger screen was an instant hit with Sea-Doo riders and is now standard equipment on the 2026 RXT-X, FishPro Trophy, Wake Pro and Explorer Pro, and available as an option on the RXP-X. The larger screen not only provides more information at a glance, but also allows riders to track each other on water as well as plan and create itineraries. It also creates some unique features for specific models. For example, on the RXP-X, it adds one more high-performance feature to the mix with Launch Mode managed directly from the gauge for blistering holeshots, giving riders a jump on the competition. On the FishPro Trophy, it provides anglers the opportunity to follow a detailed marine navigation map on the main screen using the BRP GO! Mobile App and then use the Garmin GPS exclusively in fish finder mode to improve the odds of catching the big one. Additionally, on the Wake Pro, the Ski Mode is now controlled directly through the touchscreen offering 5 different ramps that provide unique speed and acceleration to improve rider safety based on a variety of rider skill levels. Ramping Up the Sea-Doo Switch ExperienceSea-Doo's Switch family of pontoon boats continues to offer one of the most accessible, adaptive and fun boating experiences to be found on the water today. Since its award-winning debut in 2022, the Switch family has seen thoughtful updates every year to elevate the overall customer experience. For 2026, those continuous improvements go into overdrive with the availability of the 300 hp Rotax 1630 ACE engine on certain 18' and 21' Switch models. Going hand in hand with the new higher output engine is a 60% larger fuel tank, ensuring the fun lasts all day long. In addition, for 2026, all Switch models featuring 230 and 300 hp engines now have a tilting handlebar for better ergonomics and more flexibility for the captain. Additionally, all models now allow depth finder access directly on the dash display, regardless of whether it's the 4.5' or 10.25" display. A new optional Tech Package for the Switch Cruise and Sport 18' and 21' comes straight from the factory adding 2 corner tables with 2 speakers along with an amplifier, subwoofer and the 10.25'' Touchscreen Display. Time on the water will be filled with a great soundtrack and the same intuitive touchscreen capabilities and features that are available on Sea-Doo's new 2026 PWCs. Rear corner doors are a welcome addition to the Switch Cruise and Cruise Limited models, allowing easier accessibility to the rear swim platform. These doors are a must-have for family and friends looking to dive off the back of the swim platform or cruise around the lake on an inflatable tube. The Switch Cruise Limited line now includes an 18' model featuring the new 300 hp engine and a new bimini gas shock system that makes bimini top deployment and storage both easier and quicker, requiring less effort. The Switch Cruise Limited 21' is equipped with the same 300 hp engine and bimini gas shock system, but now features a new optional double bimini from the factory that provides 45% more sun coverage and includes 2 sunroof panels should a little more sunlight be needed. Rounding out the continuous improvements of the Switch family is the launch of a new Switch Fish Compact 170 hp model featuring most of the amazing fishing technology that made the Switch Fish a hit last year but only in a smaller package. Accessories play an important role in the Sea-Doo Switch experience, and 2026 sees a wealth of new accessories that make the on-water experience even more enjoyable. A front Dodger increases captain comfort during inclement weather, a BBQ Table with LinQ Lite turns the Switch into a floating diner, a Pop-Up Changing Room and Emergency Toilet allow for some privacy, and a LinQ Rear Floating Mat Holder makes relaxing on a float mat behind the Switch easier than ever. Google's AI could lead you into scam support numbers on Search

Over the past few months, we have come across numerous cases where sophisticated AI tools have been used to duplicate a person's voice and trap a person in financial scams. Experts have also warned that AI is opening new avenues of online fraud. It seems Google's AI overviews and the AI Mode results could unknowingly entangle you in a similar trap. The owner of a real estate firm recently reported how they came across a phone number while looking up Royal Caribbean's customer service number. The number they found in the Google AI Overviews section at the top of the Search page wasn't real and was run by a scammer instead. Recommended Videos 'I'm sharing this as a public service announcement. With AI-generated results and spoofed numbers, the game has changed,' Alex Rivlin, owner of the company, said in a Facebook post. He added that he managed to escape at the last moment, but not before he had already handed over his credit card details to the bad actor. Another report mentions a similar fake support number attached to Southwest Airlines. The number that appears in the Google AI Overview doesn't appear on the Southwest Airlines website, and apparently handled by tricksters trying to charge hundreds of dollars for fixing a misspelled name on tickets. Why is it risky to seek helpline numbers with AI? On Reddit, I came across a report detailing the account of an individual who was also on the verge of getting scammed after looking up the number of a food delivery service's customer support contact on Google Search. The scam has already tricked many, and a 65-year-old man recently lost over three thousand dollars after looking up 'Swiggy call centre' on Google Search. To test whether the issues persist, I looked up 'swiggy customer care number' and switched to the new Google AI Mode. This is where the confusion begins. Swiggy's website clearly mentions that they do 'not have any official customer care phone lines. Beware of fake numbers.' Google's AI mode says Swiggy 'primarily' refers users to solve the issue within the apps. Underneath, it adds that 'some sources mention these numbers as Swiggy Customer Service contact options.' This is again confusing and misleading in its own right. One of the numbers is only for partner onboarding, and not for 'customer care,' which was the original search query. Moreover, the two other numbers don't appear on an official Swiggy directory. Furthermore, one of those numbers even appears in a report lodged by a misled customer on the non-profit ConsumerComplaintsCourt website. How to proceed safely? This is not a unique problem. For a while now, Google Search results have been flooded by fake numbers in the guise of customer support helplines, waiting to scam an unsuspecting user. But with the advent of AI tools in Search, such as AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, the risks have multiplied. 'Scammers have discovered that they can flood user-generated content sites and forums with fake phone numbers for major businesses, then trick callers into sharing their credit card information,' Lily Ray, Vice President of SEO Strategy & Research at Amsive, wrote on LinkedIn. Experts at Odin and ITBrew also highlighted how hackers can write a 'command that Gemini must include the message and its phony tech-support contact number in its summary response.' Google, it seems, is aware of the problem. Google told The Washington Post that it continues to remove unreliable entries from AI Overviews. In the meantime, as an average internet user, the best advice that I can give you is that for all customer support helpline numbers and email addresses, visit the official website of the companies and look up the required contact details.

4 Things Schools Need To Consider When Designing AI Policies

Artificial intelligence has moved from Silicon Valley boardrooms into homes and classrooms across America. A recent Pew Research Center study reveals that 26% of American teenagers now utilize AI tools for schoolwork—twice the number from two years prior. Many schools are rushing to establish AI policies. The result? Some are creating more confusion than clarity by focusing solely on preventing cheating while ignoring broader educational opportunities AI presents. The challenge shouldn't be about whether to allow AI in schools—it should be about how to design policies that strike a balance between academic integrity and practical preparation for an AI-driven future. Here are four essential considerations for effective school AI policies. 1. Address Teacher AI Use, Not Just Student Restrictions The most significant oversight in current AI policies? They focus almost exclusively on what students can't do while completely ignoring teacher usage. This creates confusion and sends mixed messages to students and families. Most policies spend paragraphs outlining student restrictions, but fail to answer basic questions about educator usage: Can teachers use AI to create lesson plans? Are educators allowed to use AI for generating quiz questions or providing initial feedback on essays? What disclosure requirements exist when teachers use AI-generated content? When schools prohibit students from using AI while allowing teachers unrestricted access, the message becomes hypocritical. Students notice when their teacher presents an AI-generated quiz while simultaneously forbidding them from using AI for research. Parents wonder why their children face strict restrictions while educators operate without clear guidelines. If students are required to disclose AI usage in assignments, teachers should identify when they've used AI for lesson materials. This consistency builds trust and models responsible AI integration. 2. Include Students in AI Policy Development Most AI policies are written by administrators who haven't used ChatGPT for homework or witnessed peer collaboration with AI tools. This top-down approach creates rules that students either ignore or circumvent entirely. When we built AI guidelines for WITY, our AI teen entrepreneurship platform at WIT - Whatever It Takes, we worked directly with students. The result? Policies that teens understand and respect because they helped create them. Students bring critical information about real-world AI use that administrators often miss. They are aware of which platforms their classmates use, how AI supports various subjects, and where current rules create confusion. When students participate in policy creation compliance increases significantly because the rules feel collaborative rather than punitive. 3. Balance AI Guardrails With Innovation Opportunities Many AI policies resemble legal warnings more than educational frameworks. Fear-based language teaches students to view AI as a threat rather than a powerful tool requiring responsible use. Effective policies reframe restrictions as learning opportunities. Instead of "AI cannot write your essays," try "AI can help you brainstorm and organize ideas, but your analysis and voice should drive the final work." Schools that blanket-ban AI usage miss opportunities to prepare students for careers where AI literacy will be essential. AI access can vary dramatically among students. While some students have premium ChatGPT subscriptions and access to the latest tools, others may rely solely on free versions or school-provided resources. Without addressing this gap, AI policies can inadvertently increase educational inequality. 4. Build AI Literacy Into Curriculum and Family Communication In an AI-driven economy, rules alone don't prepare students for a future where AI literacy is necessary. Schools must teach students to think critically about AI outputs, understand the bias in AI systems, and recognize the appropriate applications of AI across different contexts. Parents often feel excluded from AI conversations at school, creating confusion about expectations. This is why schools should explain their AI policies in plain language, provide examples of responsible use, and offer resources for parents who want to support responsible AI use at home. When families understand the educational rationale behind AI integration—including teacher usage and transparency requirements—they become partners in developing responsible use habits rather than obstacles to overcome. AI technology changes rapidly, making static policies obsolete within months. Schools should schedule annual policy reviews that include feedback from students, teachers, and parents about both student and teacher AI usage. AI Policy Assessment Checklist School leaders should evaluate their current policies against these seven criteria: Teacher Guidelines: Do policies clearly state when and how teachers can use AI? Are disclosure requirements consistent between students and educators? Student Input: Have students participated in creating these policies? Do rules reflect actual AI usage patterns among teens? Equity Access: Can all students access the same AI tools, or do policies create advantages for families with premium subscriptions? Family Communication: Can parents easily understand the policies? Are expectations clear for home use? Are there opportunities for workshops for parents? Innovation Balance: Do policies encourage responsible experimentation or only focus on restrictions? Is the school policy focusing on preparing students for the AI-driven workforce? Regular Updates: Is there a scheduled review process as AI technology evolves? Does the school welcome feedback from students, teachers and parents? Skills Development: Do policies include plans for teaching AI literacy alongside restrictions? Who is teaching this class or workshop? Moving Forward: AI Leadership The most effective approach treats students as partners, not adversaries. When teens help create the rules they'll follow, when teachers model responsible usage, and when families understand the educational reasoning behind policies, AI becomes a learning tool rather than a source of conflict. Schools that embrace this collaborative approach will produce graduates who understand how to use AI ethically and effectively—exactly the capabilities tomorrow's economy demands.
