Former Barenaked Ladies frontman to headline Oktoberfest's Willkommen Platz
You won't need to scrape together a million dollars to see a celebrated Canadian singer and songwriter during Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest this year.
In a news release on Tuesday, Oktoberfest organizers announced Steven Page, former frontman of the Barenaked ladies, will be headlining Willkommen Platz.
Page is credited with writing hits such as 'Brian Wilson,' 'It's All Been Done,' 'Falling for the First Time' and 'If I Had $1,000,000.'
Page will hit Circle K stage in Downtown Kitchener on Friday, Oct. 11.
'We couldn't be more excited to welcome Steven Page to Oktoberfest,' Tracy Van Kalsbeek, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest's executive director, said. 'His music has shaped the Canadian soundscape for decades and we know he'll bring an unforgettable energy to the Willkommen Platz.'
The Watchmen, UN Jefferson, Jessie T and Oktoberfest legend Walter Ostanek, the Polka King, will also be performing throughout the weekend.
K-W Oktoberfest will be taking place from Sept. 26 until Oct. 18.
