His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed underscored the importance of leveraging advanced technologies in urban planning to ensure the long-term sustainability of infrastructure that meets the aspirations of current and future generations and enhances societal well-being, by investing in integrated, future-ready infrastructure, including facilities powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and other smart solutions

During the summit, the Department of Municipalities and Transport launched its AI-powered Binaa platform, aimed at streamlining the construction permitting process. By reducing transaction processing times by up to 70 per cent, the platform enables permits to be issued within 24 hours. It also identifies over-designs, helping avoid redundancy and minimising environmental impacts. The system enables more than 15 government entities to access blueprints and other relevant documents, creating a unified platform for all stakeholders

The summit gathered more than 2,000 experts, leading engineers, urban planners, decision-makers, senior officials and representatives of international organisations from around the world

Attendees engaged in high-level panel discussions focused on sustainability and innovation in the development of infrastructure for modern cities

ADPIC showcased a portfolio of strategic initiatives aimed at creating an integrated urban environment, which are enhancing community wellbeing across Abu Dhabi. Integrated Transport Centre issues amendments to road toll executive regulations in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi - The Integrated Transport Centre, an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has announced amendments to the provisions of the Road Toll Executive Regulations in Abu Dhabi 'DARB'. This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion on main roads during peak hours. The new amendments will come into effect starting Monday, 1 September 2025, introducing changes to the tariff schedule. The evening period will be revised to run from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while the morning period will remain unchanged, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday through Saturday. Tariffs will continue to be free of charge on Sundays and official public holidays. The new amendments also remove the current daily and monthly toll caps for private vehicles. This means there will no longer be a maximum limit on the toll charges collected per vehicle each day (AED16) or each month (AED200, AED150, and AED100) for the first, second, third vehicle, and any additional ones. The fee of AED 4 will continue to be charged every time a vehicle passes through a toll gate in the emirate. The existing exemption policy will continue for eligible groups, including People of Determination, low-income families, senior citizens, and retirees. Q Mobility, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), will take over the management and operation of Abu Dhabi's DARB toll system, working in coordination with the relevant authorities to implement the updates. DMT delegation visits Republic of Korea to exchange knowledge on smart mobility, sustainable urban development
13 Aug 2025 11:26 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)A senior delegation led by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), has concluded an official visit to the Republic of Korea aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in next-generation infrastructure, sustainable mobility, and urban the visit, Al Shorafa held a series of high-level government meetings, including with Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul and Lee Sang Kyeong, Vice Minister of Land and Infrastructure of South strategic discussions, which were also attended by Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, reinforced the growing relationship between Abu Dhabi and Seoul, building on the Friendship City Agreement signed last year.
