FEARS over Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz's partnership are on the rise after the US Open was hit by high-profile withdrawals.
Raducanu and Alcaraz were among the teams announced for the new format of the mixed doubles event in New York in August.

The pair, who have both won the US Open singles, were then linked romantically but they insisted they are simply just "good friends".
Raducanu even watched Alcaraz at Queen's and Wimbledon either side of them teaming up for an Evian commercial.
However, several other partnerships have already pulled out of the controversial event.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa initially entered.
But they have since removed themselves from the entrant list.
That comes amid reports the tennis couple have split up for good.
Then Jack Draper and Zheng Qinwen also revoked their entry as they both battle injuries.
British No1 Draper admitted at Wimbledon that he "thinks it was me who messaged" his partner - all but revealing it was all done by his agency IMG.

Other pairings such as Aryna Sabalenka and Grigor Dimitrov, Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner and Emma Navarro and Olga Danilovic and Novak Djokovic remain on the entry list.
But there are worries over Raducanu and Alcaraz.

Tennis fans are desperate to see 'Radalcaraz' in action together.
However, there is a chance they may follow suit and withdraw - to give themselves the best chance of success in the singles.
Also, the British-Spanish duo may not actually qualify.
Only the top eight pairs by singles ranking are guaranteed to get in.
However, US Open chiefs would surely give Raducanu and Alcaraz one of the eight wildcard spots.

Eleven new teams have put their names forward to play in the innovative competition, taking the total entries up to 25 - with 16 getting in.
Among them are engaged couple Katie Boulter and Alex De Minaur plus Amanda Anisimova and Holger Rune, veteran Venus Williams and Reilly Opelka and doubles world No1s Katerina Siniakova and Marcelo Arevalo.
Siniakova has 11 Grand Slam titles - including all four in women's doubles and the Wimbledon 2025 mixed doubles crown.
The Czech doubles specialist blasted the rejigged tournament, which will be staged the week before the singles action gets underway with $1million up for grabs for the winners and a 'fast four' format with shorter sets.
Siniakova, who is reliant on a wildcard, said: "When two world No. 1s in doubles don't get into the tournament, there's probably nothing more to say about it.
'I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if I won't get it, actually. I will just keep it like this.'

Motorsport fans can head to the world-famous Silverstone Circuit to explore its museum – or even drive the iconic track in a single-seater racing car. Beyond the pitch, Sunderland offers sandy summer escapes at Roker and Seaburn beaches. For cultural exploration, visit Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens – keep an eye out for Wallace the lion – and the National Glass Centre, where you can watch live glassblowing in action. Top Tip: A mini music festival will take place at the city's Keel Square fan village on the evening of August 21 – featuring a lineup of female-led live music. The celebrations continue at Keel Square for the next two days with live entertainment, interactive games, food, drink and big screens. York is a city layered with history – visit the 7th Century York Minster, uncover Norse heritage at the Jorvik Viking Centre or brave the thrills of York Dungeon. For something more modern, enjoy food and drink at creative community venue SPARK* or join a craft beer tasting tour at Brew York. Top Tip: The Red Roses' captain is North Yorkshire-born Zoe Aldcroft, who hails from Scarborough and started playing at her local rugby club aged eight. It takes under an hour to reach Scarborough from York by train, and the coastal town (touted to be England's first seaside resort) offers rich heritage, outdoor adventures and plenty of water sports – perfect for a breezy break away from the pitch.

Huw Jones was on emotional rollercoaster ahead of Lions win
Jones was destined to miss one of the greatest matches in the tourists' storied history after initially being left out of the starting XV, despite having impressed in the Suncorp Stadium opener. Jones played a key part in the Lions' comeback after showing his strength to power over just before half-time (David Davies/PA) But having been dropped for Garry Ringrose, he was reinstated at outside centre when the Ireland star self-reported a return of the concussion symptoms that had forced him to miss the first Test. 'It was a pretty mental week. I had the initial disappointment of not being in the squad on the Tuesday,' Jones said. 'I had a chat with Andy and I was gutted. I got over that and was ready to get behind the boys. 'And then on Thursday we trained and Garry – to be fair to him – said his head just wasn't right. I think he may have got a knock in the session and went to the doctor. 'That's brave. And pulling yourself out as well. It was at the end of training, I had no idea that he was struggling, 'I chatted to Garry afterwards and he was emotional. Its one of those….you think 'I'll be all right' but if it's bad, it's bad. 'But like people have said, it's just a game. Your head's very important, you only get one brain and all that. 'If he felt the need to say that he was struggling, then fair play to him. I just hope that he gets over it very quickly. Sometimes that's rugby and that's sport. 'So I got a nod after that session. I was ready to step in and luckily I'd run some of the plays on Tuesday, so I was ready to go and got the job done.' Jones played a key part in the Lions' comeback from 18 points down after showing his strength to power over just before half-time, but it was Hugo Keenan's dashing finish with 51 seconds left that ignited the celebrations. Remarkably, Keenan's try was the first time the Lions had led in the second Test. 'What a game. Unbelievable. We made it hard for ourselves, ill-discipline and all that, but came back at the end and Hugo….what a finish. It was a good feeling,' Jones said. Farrell is scheduled to name his starting XV and bench on Thursday (David Davies/PA) 'It's a cliche, but we never stopped believing, even at half-time. Even if we'd been further down, we still had the belief that we'd go on and win.' Farrell has given his squad two days off to celebrate Saturday's achievement with the players being joined by their friends and family. They resume training on Tuesday when the Lions will begin plotting the downfall of the Wallabies for a third-successive weekend. Farrell is scheduled to name his starting XV and bench on Thursday.
