"India is mature democracy that is fighting terrorism and not attacking civilian lives": Shaina NC hails PM's address
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 13 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on Operation Sindoor and asserted that India is a 'mature democracy' that is fighting terrorism and not attacking civilian lives.
'140 crore Indians have absolute faith in Prime Minister Modi and after hearing him speak where he says that no nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore, we have even more faith in him. Terrorist attacks on India have been given a befitting reply and the response has always been on our own terms...When the Prime Minister talks about the act of terror being the act of war, we have more faith in him, Army, Navy, Airforce. When the international world community questions us on terror, it is amply clear that India is a mature democracy that is fighting terrorism and not attacking civilian lives,' Shaina NC told ANI on Monday.
In a bold and unequivocal message to the nation following Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday declared that India will no longer tolerate nuclear blackmail and will respond to any terrorist attack with strict and decisive action.
'Operation Sindoor is now India's established policy in the fight against terrorism, marking a decisive shift in India's strategic approach', PM Modi declared, stating that the operation has set a new standard, a new normal in counter-terrorism measures.
In a first address to the nation since India's military retaliation 'Operation Sindoor,' PM Modi outlined three key pillars of India's security doctrine.
Firstly, the 'Decisive Retaliation,' any terrorist attack on India will be met with a strong and resolute response. India will retaliate on its terms, targeting terror hubs at their roots.
The second is 'No Tolerance for Nuclear Blackmail.'
PM Modi said India will not be intimidated by nuclear threats. Any terrorist safe haven operating under this pretext will face precise and decisive strikes.
The third pillar is 'No distinction between terror sponsors and terrorists.'
PM Modi said India will no longer see terrorist leaders and the governments sheltering them as separate entities.
PM pointed out that during Operation Sindoor, the world once again witnessed Pakistan's disturbing reality--senior Pakistani military officials openly attending funerals of eliminated terrorists, proving Pakistan's deep involvement in state-sponsored terrorism.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that India will continue taking decisive steps to safeguard its citizens against any threat.
India effectively repelled escalation by the Pakistan military following Operation Sindoor and also pounded some airbases. (ANI)

The No Kings Day of Defiance has been organized to reject authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics and the militarization of the country's democracy, according to a statement by organizers. Organizers intend for the protests to counter the Army's 250th anniversary celebration — which Trump has ratcheted up to include a military parade, which is estimated to cost $25 million to $45 million that the Army expects to attract as many as 200,000 people. The event will feature hundreds of military vehicles and aircraft and thousands of soldiers. It also happens to be Trump's 79th birthday and Flag Day. 'The flag doesn't belong to President Trump. It belongs to us,' the 'No Kings' website says. 'On June 14th, we're showing up everywhere he isn't — to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.' Pahalgam terror attack: Jammu & Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha hands over job letter to wife of pony rider Adil
'The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Saturday (June 14, 2025) provided a job to the wife of Adil Shah, a local pony ride operator who was killed in the April 22 Pahalgam attack while battling with terrorists,' officials said. Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over the appointment letter to Adil Shah's wife Gulnaz Akhter at their house in the Hapatnar area of Pahalgam in Anantnag district. After interacting with Adil Shah's family members and some locals, Mr. Sinha told reporters that the government job to Ms. Akhter was a symbol of gratitude from the administration to her husband's valour. 'Gulnaz Akhter has been given a permanent job in the Fisheries Department in Anantnag. This is a mark of gratitude from the administration. We have talked to the family and the people of the village, who want increased employment opportunities in the region. We will take care of that in the days to come," Mr. Sinha said. The L-G said the Jammu & Kashmir Government has already provided financial assistance to Adil Shah's family for the bravery shown by the pony ride operator. Taking to X, Mr. Sinha said, 'Met the family members of martyr Syed Adil Hussain at Anantnag. Handed an appointment letter to his wife Mrs Gulnaz Akhter on compassionate grounds. The whole country is proud of the bravery of Adil who sacrificed his life while protecting tourists at Pahalgam on April 22.' The gruesome attack with cross-border links prompted military action by India under Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Supriya Sule's ‘big alarm' after Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad
After the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule on Friday raised serious concerns over India's transport safety, calling civil aviation a big alarm and a "red flag for a long time." Speaking to ANI, Sule said, "Civil aviation is a big alarm. It's been a red flag for a long time. I request the Government of India to come out with a white paper." "The entire transport, be it roads, airways or civil aviation, there are a lot of concerns about safety." She added, "I thank Nitin Gadkari because he has been openly asking MPs to focus on safety. Road safety has been his priority. All of us have tried our best to work with him to make sure infrastructure and safety improve," she told ANI. Sule noted that despite efforts in road safety, the government had struggled to maintain safety in railways and civil aviation. "Unfortunately, our experience in railways and civil aviation has been challenging. The accidents are very alarming. I am going to discuss it in the Parliament. I'm going to meet Ashwini Vaishnaw," Sule said. She highlighted the massive number of commuters in Mumbai alone, saying, "The number of people using railways in Mumbai is huge. The government of India needs to put in a lot of effort and improve safety in the railways pan-India." While expressing her grief over the crash and its national impact, she said, "It's very painful. I appreciate that yesterday Amit Shah and today the Prime Minister went. The whole country, and the world, has reached out. It's been a very difficult 24 hours for India. We are all deeply pained." She also warmly remembered BJP leader and former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, saying, "Vijay Rupaniji had been a most wonderful colleague to all of us." On Thursday, the Al-171 Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 aeroplane bound for London's Gatwick had crashed shortly after it took off from the Ahmedabad International Airport. The airlines said only one out of the 242 people on board the aircraft survived the crash. There were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian national on board the crashed plane, airline authorities said.
