Camden County school teacher arrested, accused of inappropriate conduct with student
A Camden County school teacher was arrested Tuesday and is facing charges of inappropriate conduct involving a student, according to the Camden County Sheriff's Office.
The Camden County School System relieved Andrew Medders of classroom duties after he was taken into custody, a sheriff's office news release states.

Medders, who also worked part-time with Camden County Emergency Management Agency, was also relieved of those duties pending investigation, the news release states.
'The arrest follows an investigation supported by multiple agencies,' the news release states. The other agencies include Kingsland and St. Marys police departments, the news release states.
Authorities did not release any details about the nature of the inappropriate conduct Medders is accused of.
'We are taking this matter extremely seriously,' said Sheriff Kevin Chaney stated in the news release. 'Our priority is always the safety and trust of our students, staff, and the greater community, and my office is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation while working closely with our law enforcement partners, the Camden County School System, and the Camden County Board of Commissioners.'

Georgia man drowns after caught in Gulf rip current
Authorities in Florida said a 47-year-old Georgia man died Sunday after drowning in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said on social media that Timothy Franklin was swimming with a family member when he got caught in a rip current. They found emergency personnel from Gulf County EMS and South Gulf Fire Rescue engaged in life-saving efforts that ultimately proved unsuccessful. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said 'it is grateful for the numerous members of the community that have wrapped themselves around the Franklin family to provide support during this incredibly difficult time. This is a heartbreaking incident, and the family remains in our thoughts and prayers.' A GoFundMe has been started on the family's behalf, according to media reports. St. Augustine business owner indicted on charges of having child sexual abuse material
A St. Augustine business owner has been federally indicted on charges that he paid money to receive child sex abuse images online. Action News Jax was outside Dymeng Technology Solutions on Paseo Reyes Drive on May 8 when the business was raided. We confronted the owner, Jack Leach, to find out why federal investigators were there. The criminal complaint includes what prosecutors said are messages from Leach's phone, talking about children as young as three years old and traveling to the Philippines to abuse children there. Leach, 43, faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
