TDP will seek discussion on ‘A.P. liquor scam' in Parliament, says MP Sri Krishna Devarayalu
Addressing the media after participating in the all-party meeting held in New Delhi, Mr. Krishna Devarayalu said the Parliament had come to a standstill following an intense debate on the fodder scam, which ran into about ₹100 crore, and obviously the liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh, which was far bigger in scale involving more than ₹3,000 crore, warranted a serious discussion.
Moreover, large-scale money laundering allegedly took place in the conduct of the liquor business during the YSRCP rule, he said.
As regards the all-party meeting, he said that he suggested that the Parliament should have deliberations on the Pradhan Mantri Dhan - Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. The scheme would help in mitigating the crisis faced by the mango and tobacco farmers in Andhra Pradesh by supplementing the market intervention measures taken by the State government. It provided scope for the State to mobilise Central financial support, he observed.
JJM funds
Mr. Krishna Devarayalu said the TDP MPs would raise the issue of allocation of funds to Andhra Pradesh under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), under which about ₹24,000 crore were given to the State in 2019-24, but to no avail as only an expenditure of ₹2,000 crore was accounted for.
Also, he emphasised the need for a discussion on the inter-linking of rivers, like the proposed linking of the Godavari, the Krishna and the Penna, insisting that they would provide irrigation facilities to huge tracts of agricultural lands and solve the drinking water problem.
Further, Mr. Krishna Devarayalu said the TDP MPs would seek extension of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to more sectors in order to spur economic growth by generating employment. It was a successful scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a key component of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, he said.

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Minister Gudivada Amarnath alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu government was arresting YSRCP leaders as it was unable to digest the tremendous response to the 'Babu Surety – Mosam Guarantee' programme of the YSRCP. Addressing a media conference here on Monday, Mr. Amarnath said that Mr. Naidu wants to divert the attention of people from the failures of his government to fulfil their election promises. It was common for officials to speak to the ruling party leaders, Ministers or the Chief Minister in any government. The officials would be speaking to Mr. Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on a regular basis and wonder whether it could be construed as nexus with the officials, he ask Mr. Amarnath alleged that the TDP government was arresting the YSRCP leaders with a political vengeance. He dared the government to show the proof of YSRCP leaders' involvement in the cases. The chargesheet says that the cases were booked based on 'assumption'. It does not say that money was received or that the leaders were caught taking money. This proves that the YSRCP leaders were being implicated in the cases, he alleged. He recalled that the YSRCP government had shown evidence on the alleged involvement of Mr. Naidu in the skill development scam between 2014-19. He alleged that the TDP-led government was putting the 15 medical colleges sanctioned during the YSRCP regime for sale to privatise them.

In a written reply given in the Rajya Sabha to an unstarred question raised by YSRCP MP Yerram Venkata Subba Reddy, the government said that the probe is underway from all angles that may have led to the crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, which killed 241 on board. More than 80% of Indian rural households have potable water connection
The government on Monday said more than 80% of rural households in the country have a potable water connection. 'As on 16 July, out of 193.6 million rural households in the country, more than 156.7 Crore (80.93%) households are reported to have tap water supply in their homes,' minister of state for Jal Shakti V. Somanna said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha. Since August 2019, the Centre, in partnership with states, has been implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM): Har Ghar Jal to enable every rural household to have assured potable water through tap water connections. At the start of the mission, around 32.3 million (16.7%) rural households were reported to have tap water connections. So far, as reported by states and Union territories as on 16 July, around 124.3 million additional rural households have been provided with tap water connections. Therefore, as of 16 July, out of 193.6 million rural households in the country, more than 156.7 million (80.93%) households are reported to have a tap water supply. The department of drinking water and sanitation undertakes an assessment of the functionality of household tap water connections provided under the mission through an independent third-party agency, based on standard statistical sampling. During the Functionality Assessment 2022, it was found that 86% of households had working tap connections. Out of these, 85% were getting water in adequate quantity, 80% were getting water regularly as per the schedule of water supply for their piped water supply scheme, and 87% of households were receiving water as per the prescribed water quality standards. The functionality assessment for 2024 is underway. To ensure the successful implementation of the mission, the Centre has been regularly reviewing the implementation with the respective state governments. Further, review meetings, conferences, workshops and video conferences were also held at the highest level, wherein states were advised to plan and expedite the implementation to achieve the goal in a time-bound manner. In addition, field visits were also undertaken to handhold the states for expeditious implementation of the mission. In his reply to the Rajya Sabha, the minister also mentioned that the district- and village-wise status of tap water connections in rural areas has been made public. Also, considering the requests from various states seeking central support for meeting the additional cost of raw materials, increased due to the covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine crisis, requisite amendments were made in the mission's operational guidelines with effect from 21 June 2022 to sustain the pace of implementation.
