Benny Blanco reveals Ed Sheeran has already RSVP'd to his and Selena Gomez's wedding - even though they haven't set the date

Daily Mail3 days ago

has revealed a famous pal has already said he's coming to his and Selena Gomez 's wedding.
The music producer said Ed Sheeran has already confirmed his attendance, despite the date not yet being set.
Chatting on Australian TV show Today, 'I just told him [Ed], "I'm gonna have a wedding and you're gonna come to the wedding."'
He then went on to reveal that the couple hadn't even sent invites yet to their A-lister friends, let alone set a date for their nuptials.
Benny added: 'Eventually Ed will come to our wedding, when we do have one, but unfortunately we have not scheduled one yet - but we will!'
The producer proposed to Selena in December, and admitted that life 'couldn't be better' after getting engaged and releasing their first joint album I Said I Love You First, which hit radio waves in March.
Speaking about the music-making process, Benny revealed that the album wasn't something the couple planned, it just happened.
He explained: 'We just started making music in our house as a little fun activity and then all of a sudden we had one song, then two songs, then three songs, then four songs.
'She was just a joy to work with and it was better to work with her than anyone else because at the end of the day I get to kiss her too.'
Benny and Selena confirmed their relationship in December 2023, with the pair getting engaged a year later.
'Forever starts now,' Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring.
Speaking about the upcoming nuptials recently, The Only Murders In The Building star admitted she's planning to ditch the classic bride and groom dance at their reception because she's too shy.
'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little - I feel embarrassed,' she said on an episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware.
But while there won't be a traditional first dance, Selena revealed she's making room for a deeply meaningful moment - a special dance with her grandfather.
'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she shared. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.'

Sam Fender, London Stadium: the biggest gig of the pin-up protest star's career

There was a moment, 40 minutes into the biggest concert of Sam Fender's career, when you wondered what on earth must have been going through the 31-year-old's head. Seven years ago the musician from North Shields was on the dole. But here he was, with three number one albums of socially-conscious heartland rock under his belt, standing centre-stage in the stadium where the London 2012 Olympics took place in front of 82,500 adoring fans under clear June skies. Yet the song he was singing was called Crumbling Empire. It addressed poverty under Newcastle's Byker Bridge amid more general comments about Britain's post-industrial decline. 'I don't wear the shoes I used to walk in,' Fender sang. Like much of his recent album People Watching (the best-selling British album of the year so far), Crumbling Empire deals with the distance that success has put between Fender and the life he once knew. So what was it like up for him there? We soon found out. 'I feel like I'm in a fever dream,' he said. Crucially, the ever-growing chasm between what Fender sings about and the lustre of the venues in which he sings it doesn't matter a jot to fans. Like Bruce Springsteen before him – a man to whom Fender is regularly compared – his appeal lies in the fact that success and compassion needn't be mutually exclusive. And here that mixture was boosted to whizz-bang stadium-sized proportions, with pyrotechnics, fireworks and confetti galore. It was the softer songs like Arms Length and Rein Me In, sung here with Olivia Dean, that carried the first half of this concert (muddy sound notwithstanding). These, and the celebratory glow of myriad Newcastle United fans, still basking in their team's recent Carabao Cup victory at Wembley. The Toon Army at next week's trio of sold out hometown mega-shows in St James's Park – the club's home turf – will rightly go bananas. The gig's second half was blistering. People Watching (the song) and a cover of The Clash's London Calling were crowd-pleasing belters. Meanwhile, Seventeen Going Under cemented its status as this century's Born to Run, if that song was stripped of all optimism and recast in the North-East. The highlight was Remember My Name, a stirring ballad dedicated to Fender's late grandparents. He sung it alone backed by the Easington Colliery Brass Band. That took almighty cajones. Respect, Sam. It had this cynical, tired, half-Northumbrian critic reaching for the Kleenex. Fender ended with what is fast becoming this summer's cri de coeur for rock stars: 'Free Palestine'. To be honest it felt a bit tokenistic amid the late-show revelry. But after Wembley, the Geordies are clearly on a roll in London. Fender just notched up another very memorable victory.

Andy Lee and Rebecca Harding spotted jetting into Melbourne after New York trip...as the comedian goes straight back to 'work' on mammoth mansion project

Andy Lee cut a casual figure on Saturday, when he was spotted with partner Rebecca Harding, jetting into Melbourne after a New York jaunt. The funnyman, 43, and Rebecca, 35, were in the Big Apple to pay a visit to Andy's Aussie-themed Manhattan pub, Old Mates. With Andy at the helm of the venture, it is backed by an owner's group that includes the likes of Hamish Blake, tennis star Ash Barty, surfing legend Mick Fanning, Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins and Hollywood A-lister Hugh Jackman. Andy was dressed for on the long haul flight, wearing a pair of loose-fitting navy blue tracksuit pants. He also wore a crisp, white long sleeve polo shirt, and a pair of well-worn white sneakers. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Finishing his flight ensemble, the Hundred host wore a brown and white Cherry LA trucker cap. Rebecca, meanwhile was similarly attired in a pair of grey track suit pants and a white top that she wore under a thigh-length coat. Wearing a black headband to keep her locks of her face, Rebecca was also spotted wheeling a silver suitcase and hand luggage. Andy, meanwhile appeared more interested in his phone, smiling as he scrolled and walked. He did not let jet lag get to him either, getting back on the tools at his ambitious Melbourne mansion renovation. He shared a photo to Instagram on Saturday afternoon that showed him happily posing with construction crew at the build site. While the workers, who appeared to have been rendering a cement wall looked suitably dirty, Andy, who offered a heart thumbs up, was conspicuously spotless. 'Me and the boys got the walls done in a day. I certainly don't want to take all the credit, it was a team effort,' he captioned the image. The funnyman, 43, and Rebecca, 35, were in the Big Apple to pay a visit to Andy's Aussie-themed Manhattan pub, Old Mates His followers were quick to flood the comments with suggestions that Andy was only there for the 'photo op.' 'Good to see the shoes are nice and dirty,' one offered, commenting on Andy's pristine footwear. Another chimed in with a cheeky: 'Andy rocking up just in time for smoko.' Hopefully they kept the noise down as Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed, earlier this month, that some neighbours are less-than-enamoured with the protracted build. 'It's noisy. It's been noisy... It's frustrating because it's been going for a year and we've still got a couple more years to go,' one disgruntled person said. Though they went on to add the 'earthworks' was the noisiest portion of the build, the neighbour said nowadays it has 'actually settled down quite a bit'. Andy and Rebecca have grand plans for their Italianate manor, with the planned renovation worth an estimated $5million having begun in 2023. The comedian has been hard at work on the derelict Melbourne mansion, called Ravenswood, he bought for $8.5million in 2021, in a Block-style rebuild. The couple won council approval for their development application back in June 2023. Plans for the site include adding a second building which will be connected by a tunnel to the original Italianate mansion, which was built around 1876. Other highlights planned for the 1,950 square metre holding include a home theatre, a gym, a swimming pool and a 'mega bedroom'. In a statement to the Herald Sun, Boroondara Council confirmed it had issued a notice of decision to grant a planning permit for the Yarra Grove address. One neighbour told the Sydney Morning Herald in December the construction cacophony had caused the couple to lose 'a lot of community goodwill'. 'The noise is just horrendous,' the disgruntled neighbour told the publication.
