Puttaparthi (Sri Sathya Sai district): SP V Ratna assured that all complaints received will be thoroughly investigated within the legal framework and justice will be delivered to the victims in due course. Participating in Public Grievances Redressal System held at Police Conference Hall here on Monday, the SP received around 70 public complaints. She emphasised that appropriate legal action will be taken on each complaint, ensuring a timely and lawful resolution.
The SP instructed officials to resolve issues promptly, especially those within legal boundaries, and to ensure that complaints are not repeated.
She spoke with the authorities concerned over phone to expedite justice for the petitioners.
Most of the complaints submitted during the session include family disputes, land issues, cyber frauds, employment scams, and property
disputes.
Women Police DSP Adinarayana, Puttaparthi DSP Vijay Kumar, Legal Advisor Sainath Reddy, and others were present.

Zia Ur Rehman Barq (File photo) NEW DELHI: The Allahabad high court has directed the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to restore power supply at the house of Samajwadi Party 's (SP) Lok Sabha member from Sambhal, Zia Ur Rehman Barq. A division bench of justices Saumitra Dayal Singh and Sandeep Jain, passed the order on a writ petition by Barq in the electricity theft case . It also described as "arbitrary," UPPCL's Rs 1.91 crore fine on the SP leader over allegations of electricity theft. "Submission is that even if the inspection report and adverse facts allegedly found therein are accepted, no jurisdiction arose with the respondent authorities to make assessment for a period of 12 years," the court observed in its June 4 order, according to news agency PTI. "The maximum period for which assessment may have been made could not exceed one year. By breaching the statutory period of assessment, wholly unnatural and arbitrary demand of Rs 1 crore and 91 lakhs has been raised. The petitioner cannot be made to deposit 50% of such illegal demand to maintain an appeal," it added. In December 2024, the electricity department imposed the penalty on Barq following an inspection at his residence in Sambhal's Deepa Sarai area, where officials allegedly discovered the power theft. Puttaparthi: SP V Ratna has issued strict orders to ensure foolproof security at the Mega DSC examination centre located at Samskruti Engineering College near the Super Specialty Hospital in Puttaparthi. The Mega DSC exams commenced on Friday and will continue until June 30. As these exams are being conducted with high importance by the State Government, necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and secure conduct. Under the supervision of Puttaparthi DSP Vijay Kumar, security arrangements were thoroughly reviewed. Police officials and staff were briefed on necessary precautions, including candidate checking protocols. The exam is scheduled in two sessions: from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates are thoroughly checked using DFMDs, and items like mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Surveillance is being conducted using CC cameras and drone cameras. Section 144 and the provisions of the 30 Police Act have been enforced around the exam centres. Vehicle movement near the exam centres is restricted to avoid any disturbances. Police authorities are taking all necessary steps to conduct the Mega DSC exams under tight security and with zero incidents.

Rajamahendravaram: In view of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) festival on Saturday, elaborate security arrangements have been made across the district, particularly at major mosques and Eidgahs, said District Superintendent of Police D Narasimh Kishore. Speaking after a coordination meeting with religious leaders on Friday, the SP stressed the need to uphold communal harmony and urged everyone to cooperate in maintaining law and order. Stating that special surveillance through solar-powered cameras and drones will be deployed, he assured that the police are fully prepared to ensure the festival is celebrated in a peaceful atmosphere. 'Muslims should celebrate Bakrid joyfully with their families,' he wished. Any attempt to disturb harmony through provocative speeches or objectionable posts on social media will invite strict legal action, he warned. The SP further clarified that illegal transportation of animals will not be tolerated. 'We are strictly implementing the directives of the High Court regarding cow slaughter. Any violation of these orders will lead to severe consequences,' he stated. He also mentioned that nodal officers have been instructed to promptly respond to complaints and enforce the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act-1977, Animal Transport Rules-1978, The Animal Transport (Amendment) Rules-2001 and Slaughter House Rules-2001. Citizens are encouraged to report any information related to cow slaughter or illegal transport of cattle by calling 112. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, the SP assured.
