7 held for performing bike stunts on Parvati River bank

Time of India17-07-2025
Jaipur: Police in Dholpur Thursday arrested seven youths who were filming social media reels on the overflowing banks of the Parvati River during the monsoon, ignoring repeated warnings to stay away.
Officers said the youths, many of them students from nearby villages, were performing bike stunts and even stepping into the river to catch fish, putting their own lives and those of others at risk. They were booked for disturbing peace and creating chaos.
A senior police officer said the crackdown followed a series of recent mishaps. Last week, four youths entered the swollen river and were swept away; three were rescued while one drowned.
"We have been continuously patrolling the area, but these seven ignored warnings and were busy performing stunts and catching fish," the officer said.
In recent weeks, youngsters across the district have been flocking to overflowing rivers, ponds, and waterfalls to shoot videos, often standing dangerously close to strong currents. Acting on reports of such activities, a team from Sepeu police station arrested the seven while they were filming near the Parvati River.

Two motorcycles were seized during the operation. The arrested youths were identified as Shivdayal, Karan Singh, Vijay Singh, Ramkumar, Bunty, Mukesh Kumar, and Govardhan Singh.
SHO Sepeu Virendra Meena said rivers and ponds in the district are brimming because of heavy rain, yet many people continue attempting stunts and selfies in hazardous spots for online content. Police said strict action will continue against anyone caught risking their life near these water bodies. With several drowning cases already reported this season, the district administration has taken a firm stance to stop such reckless behaviour.

Op U-Turn: Over 600 drunk drivers caught in 18 days

1 2 Nagpur: The Nagpur traffic police booked a staggering 1,324 motorists for drunk driving from January 1 to July 28 this year. What is more startling is that 636 of these violators — nearly 48% — were recorded during just an 18-day special drive 'Operation U-Turn' held between July 10 and 28. In addition to cracking down on violators, Operation U-Turn appears to have had a positive impact on overall road safety. In July 2024, the city recorded 39 road accidents. However, as of July 28, the number reduced to just around 15 — a drop of nearly 62%. DCP (Traffic) Lohit Matani confirmed the trend, saying, "Accidents too have reduced significantly this month due to our intensified focus on enforcement." The crackdown, carried out across all 10 traffic zones in the city, revealed some troubling trends. Indora zone topped the list with 94 drunk driving cases in just 18 days, followed by Kamptee (86) and Sonegaon (78), MIDC area (77), Sadar (65), Cotton Market (60), Lakadganj (59), and Ajni (56). Sakkardara and Sitabuldi zones, which are otherwise known for heavy traffic movement, reported lower figures — 26 and 35 cases respectively — suggesting either improved compliance or effective deterrence. Sitabuldi, in particular (where the office of DCP (traffic) is located), is known for stricter enforcement. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Brain tumor has left my son feeling miserable; please help! "The traffic cops also formed 10 special mobile patrol units which focus on drunk drivers trying to dodge checkpoints by taking sudden U-turns and slipping into side lanes," said ACP Madhuri Baviskar. Besides this, surprise nakabandi near pubs, clubs, and bars from 11pm to 2am, she added. Officials stated that Operation U-Turn was launched to send a strong message ahead of the festive season, when cases of drunk driving tend to spike. Breath analyser checks were intensified near pubs, bars, highways, and arterial roads during late evening and night hours. With more such drives planned in the coming months, police have urged citizens to stay responsible. "One careless mistake can be fatal — not just for the driver, but for others on the road," said a senior traffic cop.

Pahalgam terror victim's wife welcomes govt action

1 2 Balasore: Priyadarshini Acharya, wife of Prashant Kumar Satpathy from Balasore district's Ishani village, who was killed in the recent attack in Pahalgam welcomed the success of Operation Mahadev, which neutralised all three terrorists involved. Union home minister Amit Shah confirmed the development in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, calling it a major milestone in India's fight against terrorism. Shah said during Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K police neutralised three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. "I feel deeply relieved and proud today. My husband gave his life for the country, and now justice has been served. The Indian Army and our government kept their promise," said Priyadarshini. Priyadarshini recalled the trauma of the past three months and how her family had been haunted by the loss. "I used to wonder if those responsible would ever be caught. Now that they've been eliminated, I believe this is a message to every terrorist: India will not forgive or forget," she said. She also emphasized the importance of national security and praised the coordination between the govt and the armed forces. "Operation Sindoor brought us hope, and now Operation Mahadev has brought us closure. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Emergency Generators in Adis Abeba: (Prices May Surprise You) Emergency Generator | Search Ads Search Now Undo I believe other families affected by terrorism will also feel that justice has been served," she added. Responding to questions about whether she had recognized the terrorists, Priyadarshini noted that some of the suspects had been seen lurking in the area before the attack but were mistaken for security personnel. "We had no idea who they really were. The mastermind had blended in, but now he has met his fate," she said. Looking ahead, she urged the government to continue taking strong steps against terrorism, particularly in vulnerable tourist regions like Pahalgam. "India's cultural and tourist destinations must remain safe. I believe the current government has shown it will act decisively when needed," she said.

'He needs therapy': Adam Butler hints Christian Wilkins' NFL exit isn't just about a kiss

(Image via: Getty Images) So what really happened to Christian Wilkins? First, the headlines were messy enough: a bizarre locker room kiss, a sudden release from the Raiders, and $35 million in guarantees gone overnight. But now, former Dolphins teammate Adam Butler has entered the chat and he's not exactly offering words of support. Instead, he's subtly sounding the alarm. Forget the narrative about a harmless prank gone wrong. According to recent reports and Butler's eerily well-timed comments, Wilkins' behavior may have crossed the line more than once and this may be a man going through something far more serious than we thought. Adam Butler suggests Wilkins may be spiraling: 'Get therapy. Talk to somebody.' Adam Butler didn't name names, but it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to piece this one together. Shortly after Wilkins was cut by the Raiders in what looked like a shocking locker room scandal, Butler spoke out: 'Sometimes we make decisions that we shouldn't. And I would advise those people to seek therapy. Talk to somebody. That's really all I got to say.' Yeah. That doesn't sound like he's talking about a pulled hamstring or a bad defensive scheme. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How to Trade ETH/USD Without Holding Ether IC Markets Learn More Undo It sounds like he's talking about someone emotionally off the rails. Reports say the locker room kiss wasn't a one-time joke and players weren't laughing What started as a rumor about Wilkins kissing a teammate on the head is now spiraling into something far more serious. Multiple insiders are now claiming the incident wasn't playful and wasn't isolated. Teammates reportedly felt uncomfortable, possibly even violated and the team acted fast. The incident wasn't seen as a prank but as repeated boundary-crossing behavior, leading to internal pressure to release him. And this wasn't just a 'heat of the moment' locker room thing. Reports say the discomfort had been building, and the kiss was just the last straw. Wilkins' $110M dream deal with the Raiders might now be the last contract of his career Wilkins signed a $110 million deal just five months ago with the Raiders, including $57 million guaranteed. Now? That money's off the table. With the team terminating his deal, Wilkins lost out on more than $35 million in guaranteed pay, and he's reportedly filing a grievance through the NFLPA. But here's the problem: even if he wins that case, teams aren't exactly lining up to sign a player who's hurt and possibly carrying serious locker room baggage. Add in the fact that his foot injury still hasn't healed, and his NFL future looks bleak maybe even done. This feels less like scandal, more like a meltdown, Adam Butler's warning points to deeper issues Adam Butler's words weren't a jab. They were a warning. Calling for therapy? That's not something teammates casually say about guys who just got released. It raises the question—was Wilkins acting out because of something he's dealing with personally? Is this a mental health spiral that no one in the league saw coming? NFL fans saw him as a goofy, passionate guy. But if multiple teammates were left feeling uncomfortable or disrespected, it crosses into something more serious. And Butler, who played with Wilkins for years, clearly thinks he's not okay. FAQs: Q1. Why did Christian Wilkins get released by the Raiders? Officially, Wilkins was released due to injury and conduct concerns. Unofficial reports suggest repeated inappropriate behavior made teammates uncomfortable. Q2. What was the locker room kissing incident? Wilkins reportedly kissed a teammate on the head, but newer reports say it wasn't seen as a joke and followed a pattern of questionable behavior. Q3. Is Christian Wilkins done in the NFL? Possibly. After losing $35M in guarantees, rehabbing a foot injury, and facing scandal, teams are hesitant to sign him.
