1 / 10
Josh Hazlewood has been RCB's standout bowler this season, playing a key role in their success. However, the Australian pacer has been dealing with injury issues and he may prefer to focus on staying fit for national duties rather than risk further setbacks in the IPL. Additionally, Romario Shepherd has international commitments and might also choose to prioritize those over the IPL. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Reece Topley (MI)
2 / 10
MI may lose Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and England left-arm pacer Reece Topley. While both have not been regular starters, their presence adds depth to MI's bowling unit. Mitch Starc, Fraser McGurk (DC)
3 / 10
Mitch Starc has been a key part of DC's bowling unit and impressed in the first half of IPL 2025. However, the long tournament has taken a toll, and the injury-prone pacer looked fatigued in recent games. He has now flown back to Australia . With only a few matches left and DC's playoff chances uncertain, a quick return seems unlikely especially for a player who has consistently prioritized national duties over the IPL. Meanwhile, Fraser-McGurk, currently out of form, may also opt not to return. Spencer Johnson, Quinton de Kock (KKR)
4 / 10
Australian fast bowler Spencer Johnson and South Africa's Quinton de Kock, who have not featured in KKR's recent playing XIs, might opt out of the tournament as KKR is nearly out of playoff contention. Mitchell Marsh (LSG)
5 / 10
LSG's experienced all-rounder Mitchell Marsh could also be unavailable. The Australian star might pull out due to personal safety concerns, and he might skip IPL Phase 2. Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson (PBKS)
6 / 10
PBKS could be without South Africa's Marco Jansen and New Zealand's speedster Lockie Ferguson is already out of the tournament due to injury. Jofra Archer (RR)
7 / 10
RR's pace department could be heavily impacted if Jofra Archer decides not to travel but because Rajasthan Royals is already out of the tournament they can try some new pacers for their rest of the matches. Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins (SRH)
8 / 10
Two key overseas stars Heinrich Klaasen (South Africa) and Pat Cummins (Australia) might not return as they have been already eliminated from the tournament. Jos Buttler, Glenn Philips (GT)
9 / 10
Jos Buttler, now 34 years old, was reportedly among the first group of players to leave India when tensions escalated. With a young family back home, it's highly unlikely that he would be mentally prepared to return to India just days after his departure. Glenn Philips is already out of the tournament and will not return. Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra (CSK)
10 / 10
CSK could suffer a double blow as Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, two vital players from New Zealand, may decide not to return for the second phase. As CSK is already eliminated from the competition it will not affect them much.

WTC Final: Matthew Hayden criticises South Africa's approach, says they need to show more intent on Day 2 against Australia
Former Australian cricketer commented on day one of the ICC World Test Championship final at Lord's between Australia and South Africa, emphasizing that the Proteas need to show more batting intent on day two. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Australia finished at 212 all out while South Africa struggled at 43-4 at stumps, with claiming five wickets for the Proteas and striking twice for Australia. scored 66 runs and Beau Webster contributed 72 runs for Australia, being the only significant batting performances of the day. Rabada finished with figures of 5/51, while Marco Jansen took 3/49. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! South Africa had won the first session, reducing Australia to 67/4, but lost momentum as the day progressed. Australia bounced back strongly in the final session, taking nine wickets across both innings. Bold prediction! Astrologer Greenstone Lobo picks winner of Australia vs South Africa WTC Final 2025 "I am not entirely convinced it was Australia's day. South Africa won the first session, and Australia's comeback in the final session--nine wickets in all--was surprising. The conditions were odd: cloudy for half the day and sunny for the other half. Batting should have been easier, but it wasn't. I would say maybe 80 per cent in Australia's favour, largely because of South Africa's lack of intent," Hayden said. Hayden criticised South African captain Bavuma's approach, noting his slow start in opening his account on the 31st ball. "And that's dangerous when facing three world-class fast bowlers in conditions that suit them. They need to come out with more intent on Day 2. Any signs of aggression--even those few boundaries late in the day--will help. But if they do not, Australia will come into Day 2 as firm favourites," he added. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Quiz: Former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar believed the day belonged to Australia. "With the amount of seam movement on this pitch, the scoreboard does not reflect a par score. Australia is in a strong position," Bangar stated. Bangar also commented on South Africa's approach, suggesting they need positive intent and proper footwork. "Steve Smith was exceptional--when conditions were tough, he pushed the pressure back on the bowlers. Also, someone like Ngidi had an off day and leaked runs. Australia's bowlers didn't offer any width. If South Africa want to score square, they must first find a way to create that width--and that comes with intent," he said. Australia's innings saw a crucial 79-run partnership between Smith and Webster, followed by Webster's 46-run stand with Alex Carey, who scored 23 runs. South Africa's response was poor, with none of their batsmen reaching 20 runs. Mitchell Starc claimed two wickets, while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took one each. At stumps, South Africa trailed by 169 runs with six wickets remaining in their first innings.

Pakistan to suffer again, PSL 2026 to clash with IPL 2026 due to...
In these collection of pictures, we find out the reason why PSL 2026 season will once again clash with the IPL 2026 season next year. IPL 2025 season clashed with PSL 2025 this year since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was scheduled in Pakistan's T20 league window. Pakistan cricket board struggled to bring foreign players for PSL 2025 since most of top players were taking part in IPL 2025. Some players quit PSL 2025 mid-way to take part in IPL 2025. Image credit: X (Formerly Twitter) PSL 2026 is also scheduled to clash with IPL 2026 next year since the ICC have scheduled T20 World Cup 2026 in India in February-March next year. Image credit: X (Formerly Twitter) PSL 2026 will have to be held in April-May window because PCB have already given NOC to players to take part in BBL 2025-26 in December-January. ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place in India and will probably be held with a 'hybrid' model with Pakistan's matches taking place outside India. Image credit: X (Formerly Twitter) Shaheen Afridi's Lahore Qalandars became PSL 2025 champions last month with a win over Quetta Gladiators. "There is a window available to the Pakistan board in December and first half of January but it has already given NOCs to Pakistani players to play in the Big Bash in Australia in this period and has also planned some domestic activities. So the discussion now with the franchise owners is to prepare for the PSL to be held in April-May just like this year," a PCB source was quoted as saying by PTI.

Shubman Gill's latest MRF bat irks fans: ‘Sachin Tendulkar never wrote GOD, Virat Kohli never used KING'
Champion. Genius. Master. Legend. MRF bat stickers have used many adjectives to define their association with some of the greatest batters the game of cricket has ever seen. They stuck with Genius the longest. That's what Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli had on their MRF-sponsored bats. MRF has a history of signing the best batters of the generation. When they chose Shubman Gill to carry the legacy forward, it was a landmark moment. It also brought the spotlight firmly on Gill as, despite his outstanding ODI numbers, he was yet to stamp his mark at the Test level. 'With legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Brian Lara having graced the iconic MRF bat, Shubman Gill now carries forward this tradition, inspiring the next generation of cricketers," MRF wrote while announcing the collaboration before the semi-final of the Champions Trophy earlier this year. The purists looked at the Gill-MRF association with the corner of their eyes. Ahead of India's tour of England, which also marks the beginning of a new chapter, hopefully a glittering one, in Gill's cricket career as he takes over as India's Test captain, Gill's MRF bat sticker was once again in the news. This time, because of what was written along with MRF Genius. After the BCCI released photos of Gill and other members of the Indian team sporting the new kits, netizens zoomed in to find the word Prince written on Gill's bat. The Prince moniker was given to Gill as he was considered a superstar in the making but to use that in his bat sticker did not sit well with a section of fans. HT could not confirm whether it was Gill's decision or MRF's to use Prince along with Genius in the bat sticker but it definitely attracted eyeballs. More so because Sachin Tendulkar never used 'God' on his nat sticker despite being fondly called by fans. Neither did Virat Kohli put King on his bat sticker. The same with AB de Villiers and Brian Lara. In fact, Lara was the first to be known as a Prince in cricket. Notably, the word Prince is not new in Gill's bat sticker. It was first introduced in the middle of the IPL but only came to prominence after Gill replaced Rohit Sharma as India's new Test captain. In his first address as captain, Gill urged his players to "find out their game" and play "every ball with purpose". "Let us make each and every net session meaningful and let us prepare like that and let us put ourselves under a little bit of pressure when we are going out there. It is not about going out there and surviving. Let us try to find out our game, how we are going to play when we are put under pressure, whether it be bowlers or batsmen. And let is make the practise match and each and every net very meaningful and let us play every ball with purpose," he concluded. The series will be held from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
