Abbie Chatfield mocked by cruel trolls for returning to social media in days after announcing a month long break following 'horrible year'

Daily Mail5 hours ago

has returned to social media just days after breaking down in tears and announcing a month long break.
The podcaster had resurfaced, posting a fun video in which she and boyfriend Adam Hyde were dancing together before attending a wedding.
'Wedding time!!!! With my angel' the 29-year-old podcaster captioned the energetic clip.
Some of her followers were unimpressed to see Abbie back so quickly after her breakdown and shared their thoughts in her comments.
'Short break from socials. Crying in a car, nek minute uploading a video dancing in a hotel. The level of contradiction is sending me' one person wrote.

'I thought you weren't posting for a month?' another person asked.
'The social media break didn't happen. Here you are again, just no tears this time' one more commented.
'What happened to leaving socials? Couldn't even last a day hahahaha' another said.
'So we not taking a break, another attention seeking move' commented yet one more.
Others were very supportive, with several pointing out that Abbie specified her break would not start till later in the week.
'Love this! Glad you give zero f**ks about your daily jellly haters and still show up! No flies on you my babe' one said.
Another wrote: 'You guys are stunning and your energy is beautiful'.
Abbie post comes days after she revealed that she is taking a break from social media after what she says has been a 'horrible year.'
The influencer shared an expansive and emotional video to TikTok in which she outlined the reasoning behind her decision.
She said that 'endless trolling' from 'right-wing freaks' had finally reached breaking point and that she needs time away from social media to 'protect her brain.'
Over the next four weeks, Abbie's social media feeds will only feature pre-recorded clips for her It's A Lot Podcast.
'For the next month, I'm not going to be posting on social media at all except for pre-scheduled content for the podcast,' she revealed.
'I really need time off from the internet - like desperately.'
Giving followers an insight into the level of trolling, Abbie said that the amount of abuse she receives online was 'endless'.
'It's been really horrific this past six months with the amount of violent trolling that I have received,' she said.
'It's hundreds of messages a day. It's really traumatising and I don't like saying that because I know that trolls want to hurt me.
'Ever since the end of last year the trolling has become increasingly violent and aggressive from people that don't like me. It's constant...all day, every day.'
Abbie continued: 'Just imagine if every single day you received a hundred texts saying that people were going to SA [sexually assault] you, people want to be violent towards you, people hate you.
'I cant even enjoy TikTok because my for you page is videos about me - people making fun of me.'
She also claimed that the vitriol had gotten so bad over the past year that she has even experienced suicidal ideation.
'I haven't really gone a day in the past eight months without having thoughts of un-aliving myself so, I really need a break because, when I get to have a day off without my phone, I'm able to get back to being normal,' Abbie tearfully admitted.
'I'm sick of being lied about, I'm sick of being attacked by right wing freaks and losers.'
Abbie also revealed that she was currently in the process of writing a book - a process made almost impossible when coupled with the emotional drain of dealing with internet trolls.
'I've decided to put in like a boundary for myself to protect my brain because it's been extraordinarily difficult this year and it's incredibly exhausting,' she said.
'I'm also writing a book right now and, in order to write the book I need to be mentally clear because the constant criticism I receive makes me paralysed to write or actually do anything because I believe I am what everyone says I am.'
Abbie's emotional admission comes after her online rival Clementine Ford defended Abbie amid their ongoing internet stoush.
The pair have been exchanging barbs for weeks after Clementine accused Abbie of profiting from the 'performance of being politically engaged'.
However, the pair have appeared to have found some common ground, with Clementine defending Abbie in an explosive response to an online troll.
She shared an image to her Instagram story on Thursday that showed a very off-colour remark by a troll account called 'Right Of Centre'.
The comment read: 'Two ugly xx trolls. Men should not help them at all.
'If they're being mugged they're not worth it - too ugly - only good looking nice women deserve chivalry on any level.'
Clementine responded swiftly, slamming the commenter as an 'incel creep'.
'Regardless of my views on AC [Abbie Chatfield], I'm pretty sure neither of us need or have ever needed nor have ever asked for men to help us - especially not weird little incel creeps who blame women for their basement position on the male hierarchy,' she said.
'F*** off, loser. We both know you would p*** your pants in fear if one of us even looked in your direction.'
Abbie and Clementine's feud began when the latter wrote on her 'Dear Clementine' blog on Substack that some influencers, like Abbie, profit from the 'performance of being politically engaged' while criticising anyone who disagrees with them.

Billionaire Adrian Portelli begs fans to buy EVERY HOME he purchased on The Block after dropping $15 million on entire Phillip Island compound - and failing to give it away in a competition

Adrian 'Mr Lambo' Portelli has revealed he's selling off his entire Phillip Island compound. The billionaire businessman, 35, made history when he snapped up every Block home on Phillip Island for $15.03million last year. However it appears he is ready to let it all go - and has appealed to his fans to take it off his hands. In a post shared to Instagram Stories on Friday, he wrote: 'For Sale. The Phillip Island Block resort selling complex complete. Everything included.' 'Will not sell houses separately' he added. The Phillip Island Block resort selling complex complete. Everything included' Adrian included a question box where people could 'express interest' in making the multi-million dollar purchase. Last year, Adrian attempted to give away the entire compound in a record-breaking raffle. The house giveaway was earlier marred by technology issues which has forced him to postpone the announcement of the winner. However he got back on track 24 hours later with over 111,000 viewers tuning in on Facebook. Portelli called the winner, a 34-year-old woman from Ballarat called Holly, to give her the good news that she had won. 'Oh my God, no f**ing way. I didn't watch the live on purpose because I thought it would be bad luck,' she Portelli during the call. Holly opted to sleep on the choice between taking $8 million in cash or keeping all five properties. However, she later opted to take the cash, leaving Adrian still holding the homes. The winner was due to be unveiled at 8.30pm on Boxing Day but the result had been postponed for 24 hours due to the issues. In a video, Adrian explained that the giveaway had closed at 8pm as planned, but due to the sheer volume of traffic on the website, the LMCT+ systems then crashed. During the 2024 finale of The Block, Adrian made history by purchasing all five of the properties for a huge $15million. In his final year of bidding on the show, Adrian ensured Maddy and Charlotte Harry became the youngest ever winners when he bought their home for $3.5million. Adrian's company, LMCT+, has frequently raffled off properties from The Block, including last year's $5million purchase of Steph and Gian's winning home. Shortly after buying up the entire plot of homes on Phillip Island, Adrian then announced his massive 'resort giveaway' through LMCT+.

New mum Ash Barty has bought a fixer upper and has called in some help! Grand Slam superstar teams up with Rafael Nadal and Aussie sport legends for hilarious new advert

New mum Ash Barty has bought a fixer-upper and has called in some favours from some legends of the Aussie sporting world, and Spannish tennis great Rafael Nadal, as part of a hilarious new advert. KIA sent sporting fans into meltdown last year with their brilliant TV advert for their latest pickup truck, with 20 Australia sports stars, including the likes of Swans legend Buddy Franklin, UFC great Alexander Volkanovski and tennis great Dylan Alcott, all appearing in the advert. But this time, the South Korean car manufacturer has taken things up a notch, with Barty returning to headline the brand's latest advertisement for its new KIA Tasman pickup. It comes just a day after the three-time Grand Slam winner, Barty, announced to the world that she had given birth to her second child. The tennis legend, who retired in 2022, took to Instagram on Monday to share several pictures of her newborn baby, writing: 'Welcome to the world Jordan. You are loved unconditionally and we are so grateful to have you in our arms, gorgeous girl.' But the mum of two showed off her acting skills during the clip, which was previewed on Nine's Current Affair on Tuesday. The advert begins with Barty arriving at a run-down house in the countryside, with the Aussie tennis star, 29, looking down at a real estate brochure showing a pristine-looking house, but the camera then pans up to show that the advert was severely misleading, with the house in all sorts of disrepair. 'Home sweet home,' a lady says to Barty as they arrive at the house, with the tennis great replying: 'Needs a bit of work...' The pair then have called in several legends from the world of Aussie sport to help them do up the house, including AFL legend Peter Daicos, Test cricket great Jason Gillespie, AFL Hall of Famer Erin Phillips, and tennis champion Pat Rafter. The hilarious advertisement also sees Spanish tennis great and 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal make a brief appearance. Nadal, who appeared in a video call, drew upon his knowledge of Aussie slang when pressed on whether he'd come and help Barty renovate the house. He replied by hilariously asking: 'Is it a cashie?' 'He's dreaming,' Barty's construction manager responded. Nadal revealed to Nine's A Current Affair that he had 'heard of the slang before.' He added 'It's a funny thing. An Australian expression.' The ex-sports stars-turned-tradies begin to arrive in the new KIA Tasman pickups to help Barty fix-up her new home. Basketball legend Luc Longley and Phillips, turn up to sort the decorations on the house, with the pair covered in paint. Barty is seen shouting at the pair, appearing to poke fun at the 7ft 2in former NBA star's height, asking: 'You guys need a ladder?' AFLW superstar Phillips, who was last week inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame, replied: 'Nah think we'll be right!' with Longley laughing: 'Ladders.' During the ad, Longley drops a number of basketball-related puns, with his painting company for the advertisement being called 'In The Paint' - a reference to the rectangular area on the court by the basket, where he spent most of his time on the court as a player. 'I love the sign on my Tasman. They had in the paint on the side in a basketball keyway. They've obviously given a lot of thought to it,' he told A Current Affair. KIA have also played on the words of Peter Daicos' nickname, with the former Collingwood star being well known among footy fans as the Macedonian Marvel. During the add, his building company is known as Macedonian Marble, with Daicos introducing himself to the cameras by showcasing a thick slab of 'beautiful Macedonian marble'. 'I'm not going to sit by the phone and wait for Hollywood, but I think I've got a little bit of tidying up to do when it comes to acting,' Daicos said. Another Collingwood great, Dane Swan, also appears in the clip playing Barty's next-door neighbour, with the footy star making light on his reputation as a player who enjoyed going out partying. He rocks up next door in a KIA Tasman with the logo 'Dane's Party Supplies' printed on its window, unloading several large speakers from its flatbed. 'I'm happy to be the party supplier, it was very true in real life so might as well throw it to the ad,' he said. NRL great Geoff Toovey also joins up with the sporting legends and, of course, has to make a cameo where he repeats the iconic line he said in a press conference during his time at Manly: 'That's ridiculous, there's got to be an investigation.' Meanwhile, Barty called in the services of Rafter, known for his amazing skills on grass tennis courts, to lay turf on the lawns around the house. But Rafter never won at Wimbledon, reaching the final on two occasions, with Barty, who did win the grass major in 2022, joking that 'her husband wasn't available' to come and lay the turf, joking that she called Pat instead. They then revealed what trade they'd choose if they went on to work in the construction industry. Barty said: 'Probably something in landscaping. I love being outside. I wouldn't trust myself to look after something structurally inside of a home but can look after a plant.'

Sam Taunton reveals the brutal reality after Project axing as he returns to tiny stand-up gigs: 'Everyone knows I've lost my job'

It's back to basics for Sam Taunton. The once-prime-time star is now trading The Project's studio lights for dingy pub stages, after Channel 10 pulled the plug on the long-running panel show, leaving the comedian without his cushy TV gig. The 33-year-old funny man took to the stage in Sydney this week and didn't shy away from the elephant in the room - he's unemployed, and everyone knows it. 'It's just like everyone f**king knows you've lost your job and it's crazy,' Sam told the audience during his new stand-up set, admitting the reactions from his nearest and dearest weren't exactly comforting. 'My dad rang me and said: "Look, if I'm honest, the show wasn't for me. I prefer real news"' he quipped. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It's back to basics for Sam Taunton (pictured). The once-prime-time star is now trading The Project's studio lights for dingy pub stages, after Channel 10 pulled the plug on the long-running panel show, leaving the comedian without his cushy TV gig But it was his girlfriend's response that truly drove the nail in. 'She sent me a Google Docs spreadsheet titled: "Chores now that Sam's unemployed."' Once a regular face on Aussie TVs, Sam is now back to hustling on the comedy circuit – not exactly the career trajectory he'd hoped for after scoring a coveted hosting role on one of the country's biggest current affairs shows. And the humiliation didn't stop there. According to Sam, even The Project's most stoic panellist had a few parting words. 'Waleed – you might know that guy – he texted me on Wednesday and said, "I'm so sorry, Sam. Get prepared. I just got papped by the paparazzi outside Chemist Warehouse near the studio."' Sam, hoping to nab a bit of that paparazzi pity, made a mad dash to the same location. 'I ran as fast as I could to Chemist Warehouse. Not one f***er took a photo of me!' Sam also asked the crowd if anyone watched the show to which the crowd said 'no!' with Sam replying, 'I think we have found the problem'. The Project is officially wrapping up this month after 16 years on air, with co-hosts Sarah Harris, Hamish Macdonald and Waleed Aly all moving on – or rather, being moved on – from the network. 'It's just like everyone f**king knows you've lost your job and it's crazy,' Sam told the audience during his new stand-up set, admitting the reactions from his nearest and dearest weren't exactly comforting The shake-up follows the announcement last week that The Project would be pulled from the schedule after 16 years and more than 4,500 episodes. Its final episode is set to air on June 27, and will be replaced by a single national 6pm news bulletin. Meanwhile, Channel Ten is moving forward with its major re-brand as the network prepares to launch a new current affairs show. The Project hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris and Hamish Macdonald are set to exit the network, while comedian Taunton will continue his guest appearances on other Ten shows. The last episode will air on June 27, with the panel show being replaced by a new current affairs show. After announcing The Project was ending last Monday, Ten released another statement announcing a new look news program. The premium news program, titled 10 NEWS+, is set to hit screens on Monday, June 30, at 6pm on Channel 10 and 10Play. 10 NEWS+ will be broadcast across the country after Network 10's 5pm local news bulletins, offering a deeper analysis of some of the biggest stories of the day. The Project's final episode is set to air on June 27, and will be replaced by a single national 6pm news bulletin. The cast is pictured According to Paramount Australia, the segment aims to 'redefine evening news by providing comprehensive analysis, trusted reporting, and long-form investigative journalism'. Keeping up with Australia's constantly evolving mediascape, the news program will be available via broadcast and streaming, as well as on digital and social platforms. The show's lineup will include former 7News journalist Denham Hitchcock and Walkley Award-winner Amelia Brace, who will be regular faces during the 6pm bulletin from Sunday to Thursday. Ursula Heger and Hugh Riminton will take the lead during the Friday broadcast. The anchor team will be supported by reporters including Ashleigh Raper, Bill Hogan, Brianna Parkins, Samantha Butler, Carrie-Anne Greenbank, and Claudia Vrdoljak. Ten's Entertainment Editor Angela Bishop will also bring insight into the biggest stories in entertainment, including red-carpet events and exclusive interviews with Hollywood's elite. Speaking of the new program, White gushed over the 'fantastic team' fronting the program and the 'hard work' that had gone on behind the scenes to bring it to air. 'We're going to do what we do best - put the truth first, our audience first, and tell important stories well,' he said of the new offering. 'We've assembled a fantastic team, led by Denham and Amelia, and I can't wait for audiences to see their hard work.' 10 News+ premieres Monday, 30 June at 6pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
