First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi and Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, stressed on Wednesday the need to complete the approval of legislation that affects the lives of citizens.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "First Deputy Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi met today with Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali. The two sides exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, hoping that the holiday would be an opportunity to enhance stability and achieve the aspirations of the Iraqi people."
"During the meeting, the political situation on the local and regional levels was discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of activating the legislative and oversight role of the Parliament, which contributes to expediting the enactment of laws that directly impact citizens' lives and are related to service and investment projects and infrastructure development."
Al-Mandalawi stressed the "need for national forces to unite to support legislation that promotes economic development and improves citizens' standard of living."
Sheikh Al-Khazali stressed "the importance of continuing dialogue between various political parties to ensure stability, overcome challenges, and foster an attractive investment environment that supports the reconstruction and development process."

According to Reuters, the US State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The State Department is planning an organized departure from the US Embassy in Baghdad, aiming to carry it out through commercial means. However, the US military stands ready to assist if requested, another American official stated. Ealier, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh warned Iran will target US bases in the region if nuclear talks lead to a conflict with Washington. US President Donald Trump, in an interview, expressed diminishing confidence that Iran would agree to halt uranium enrichment as part of a nuclear deal with Washington. Another US official confirmed that operations remain unchanged at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American military installation in the Middle East. No evacuation order has been issued for embassy staff or their families in Qatar, and the embassy continues to operate normally.
