Brent Faiyaz Plays ‘Peter Pan' and ‘Tony Soprano' on New Singles
One, called 'Peter Pan,' is a dreamy love song, where Faiyaz coos, 'Darling open up your window and take my hand 'cause there ain't nowhere we can't go.' Meanwhile, 'Tony Soprano' is a melancholy slow burn where Faiyaz laments the perils of his fame and success like a tortured mob boss. 'These hoes mad funny/Bitch I'm not that funny,' he says, thinking of the women who indulge him for their own gain. 'Go 'head, laugh for me/Know you want that bag from me.' Through the track, he also takes comfort in what he can provide for himself.

'I'm embracing duality,' Faiyaz tells Rolling Stone about the two-pack. ''Tony Soprano'' is about tapping into that leader mentality – handling real-life pressure, running my own label, building a team. 'Peter Pan' is outside of all that, free from limits. Full of wonder. They might seem like opposites, but that's what I'm living.'
Faiyaz's last solo single was 2023's 'WY@,' a single from his mixtape Larger Than Life. At the time, he told Rolling Stone's Larisha Paul that the record, 'reflects having access and opportunity, and having to say no to certain shit — or the inability to say no to certain shit. That record is about addiction in a way, shape, or form, but more from the perspective of submitting to it versus fighting against it. It touches on addiction in a way that makes it a little more seductive.'

Pete Davidson Names The 'Humiliating' Tattoo He Totally Regrets
Pete Davidson got candid about the story behind a 'humiliating' tattoo that read, 'Jokes come and go, but swag is forever.' The 'Saturday Night Live' alum, in an appearance on 'Hot Ones,' told host Sean Evans that the ink was inspired by a conversation with Dave Chappelle after the comedian watched Davidson perform stand-up at the since-closed Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. 'Seeing him was like crazy, like 'what the fuck,'' said Davidson of Chappelle, who at the time was still on hiatus from performing himself. 'I got off stage, and he was like, 'I watched your whole set. It was really good.'' Davidson thanked Chappelle before asking him how he keeps 'coming up with new stuff' as a comedian, referring to it as a 'difficult' task at the time. 'And he goes, 'Jokes come and go, but swag is forever.' And guess who got that tattooed on his chest?' Davidson said. Davidson noted that while Chappelle was — and still is — his idol, he later covered it with the shark from 'Jaws' because he 'needed something huge to black it out.' 'I could have just told people he said that to me,' Davidson said of the tat, which was not attributed to Chappelle. 'When you see that, you think I thought of it. I didn't put, 'dash Chappelle' ... horrible.' Davidson brought up the ink when asked about his experience with his costly, yearslong process of removing hundreds of tattoos from his body. The former 'SNL' cast member told Variety back in April that he started the process — which is at least 30% complete and has cost him $200,000 — back in 2020, and it'll take him another 10 years before he removes the rest. Davidson, who has noted that he looks to keep two or three tattoos among the bunch, said he sees the process of removing most of his ink as part of his healing journey. 'I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,' he told Variety. 'So I'm just removing them and starting fresh, because that's what I think works best for me and for my brain.' Related... ‘Panama Playlists' claims to expose Spotify libraries of JD Vance, Pam Bondi and other prominent figures
A new site called 'Panama Playlists' has claimed to expose the Spotify accounts of prominent figures including Vice President JD Vance and Attorney General Pam Bondi. The site, which the New York Post says quietly went live Wednesday, is run by an anonymous sleuth who claims they have been 'scraping' accounts of celebrities, politicians and journalists since the summer of 2024. The sleuth said their team has access to 'playlists, live listening feed, everything. I know what songs they played, when, and how many times.' 'Heard of the Panama Papers? That exposed offshore bank accounts. This is about onshore vibes,' the site read. So, what did the sleuth claim to find? Vance is into boy bands with Backstreet Boys' 'I Want It That Way' and One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' on his playlists, according to the site. Bondi loves her 2000s hits, including Nelly's 'Hot In Herre,' Black Eyed Peas' 'I Gotta Feeling,' and Usher's 'Yeah!' the sleuth claims. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had a playlist labeled 'Baby Shower,' which included strong female singers such as Beyoncé's 'Run the World (Girls) and Aretha Franklin's 'Respect,' per the site. The Independent has reached out to the White House for comment. The sleuth told the New York Post, 'I gained confidence in each person by looking at lots of signals. 'An example is Pam Bondi. Her longtime partner is John Wakefield, and her profile has an old playlist called 'john' and an old shared playlist with a user named 'John Wakefield,' so that gives me a lot of confidence it is her account.' Leavitt's apparent 'Baby Shower' playlist was also mentioned in the interview with the sleuth, saying, 'She had a baby a month after the playlist was made.' The sleuth told the New York Post only publicly available information was collected. A Spotify spokesperson told The Independent if the sleuth is using a Spotify account to scrape information from public playlists, they are violating the company's Terms of Use. The guidelines the spokesperson referenced prohibit making available to the public any content made available through the music streaming service. There were also prominent figures outside of Washington mentioned in the 'Panama Playlists,' such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The tech executive's 'My Shazam Tracks' playlist includes David Guetta, OneRepublic's 'I Don't Wanna Wait' and Missy Elliott's 'Get Ur Freak On,' according to the site. The sleuths also listed some 1970s songs late-night host Seth Meyers is claimed to enjoy: Jackson Browne's 'The Fuse' and Rickie Lee Jones' 'Chuck E's in Love.' NBC weatherman Al Roker is an Elton John fan, the website claims. 'Panama Playlists,' said his No. 1 song of the past year is John's 'Philadelphia Freedom,' followed by 'Are You Ready for Love.' Roker previously told his fans John's music helped him through his health issues in 2022. The Independent has reached out to OpenAI for comment from Altman and representatives from NBC Universal for comment from Meyers and Roker.
