Time-travelling estate agent stars in Newport sci-fi novel
Launched in November 2024, the debut novel has remained in Amazon's top 30 bestselling time travel books since release, with the recently published sequel climbing the same charts.
Dale Bradford, author of the series, said: "The Time-Travelling Estate Agent has certainly found an audience and I've been delighted to read so many positive reviews.
"Eric has proven to be a very popular character and following the BBC Panorama broadcast, and the earlier Sell House Fast study, he might even be helping to improve the public's view of the profession."
Mr Meek, however, is not your average estate agent.
In the first book, he discovers a time portal in a client's garage, the accidental result of experiments inspired by electrical engineer Nikola Tesla.
The portal allows travel between the present day and July 3, 1976, – the day that 16-year-old Eric believes shaped the rest of his life.
Given the chance to revisit his past, Eric faces the question: will he change history, or will history change him?
The trilogy blends sci-fi, murder mystery, and romantic comedy, with nods to films such as Groundhog Day and 50 First Dates.
Set in and around Cwmbran, the series draws on Mr Bradford's childhood in South Wales.
Mr Bradford now lives in Newport and has transitioned to full-time writing after a career in journalism and magazine editing.
He was editor of Indie Magazine from 1995 to 2003 and later edited Erotic Trade Only until 2025.
In 2023 he published his first non-fiction book, From Sex Shops To Supermarkets: How Adult Toys Became A Multi‑Billion‑Pound Industry.
Both The Time-Travelling Estate Agent and its sequel are available in ebook, paperback, and hardback formats, and are free to read on Kindle Unlimited.
The first book has earned four or five stars from 84 per cent of readers, with the sequel receiving similar praise from 100 per cent of reviewers.
The third and final instalment of the trilogy is expected to be released in early 2026.
