Nine Chinese, Turkish companies to invest $41.6 mln in Ismailia Free Zone - Economy
Nine Chinese and Turkish companies have announced a collective investment of $41.6 million in the public free zone located in Ismailia Governorate in the northeast of Egypt, according to a statement by the CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Hossam Heiba, on Wednesday. This initiative aims to establish industrial projects across various fields: textiles, ready-made clothing, and protective sports apparel, as well as the manufacturing of heating and plumbing spare parts. Heiba highlighted that these projects are expected to create approximately 16,000 direct job opportunities. The move aligns with GAFI's strategic plan to enhance the role of free zones in industrial activities and bolster the nation's export capacity, he added. Moreover, he stressed that the influx of investments reflects an improved industrial investment climate in Egypt, driven by the government's efforts to simplify licensing processes and provide adequately serviced land for new ventures. The newly established factories will focus entirely on export production, adhering to the Ministry of Investment and External Trade's Investment for Export strategy. The operational phase of these projects is anticipated to commence in 2026, marking a promising step forward for Egypt's economic landscape. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Brazilian President Attacks Trump Over Tariffs: Acting Authoritarian
Amir haggag Brazilian President Lula da Silva launched a sharp attack on his US counterpart, Donald Trump, criticizing the US's imposition of 50% tariffs on Brazilian products. Lula considered the move a disguised political attack that threatens his country's sovereignty, accusing Trump of acting authoritarian and anti-civilized. "I respect everyone, and I demand respect for myself," da Silva said, completely ruling out the possibility of direct contact with Trump. Da Silva also attacked former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and his son Eduardo, accusing them of encouraging Washington to impose sanctions. Trump Announces New Sanctions on Russian Oil Buyers, 100% Tariff on Chip Imports
Ahmed Emam U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that his administration will impose "additional sanctions" on countries that continue to purchase oil from Russia, signaling a significant escalation in Washington's efforts to curtail Moscow's energy revenues. According to Alqahera News, Trump warned that any nation buying Russian oil would face "increased economic consequences" under new U.S. sanctions being prepared by his administration. The move is part of a broader strategy to isolate Russia and limit its ability to finance its military operations. In a separate policy announcement, President Trump declared his intention to introduce a 100% tariff on imported semiconductor chips in an effort to stimulate local manufacturing and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. 'We are bringing chip manufacturing back to the United States,' Trump said, according to the report. 'This is about protecting American jobs, our economy, and our national security.' The proposed tariff is expected to have wide-ranging implications for the global tech industry, particularly for countries that export large volumes of microchips to the U.S., such as Taiwan, South Korea, and China. The announcements reflect President Trump's continued focus on economic nationalism and strategic decoupling from geopolitical rivals, as his administration doubles down on trade and energy-related pressure tactics. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
