Dua Lipa Officially Becomes a Kosovar Citizen
A Presidential Homecoming
In a heartfelt ceremony that took place this week, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani personally handed Dua Lipa her citizenship certificate, sharing photos of the moment on social media. The image of the chart-topping artist standing beside the president, smiling, grounded, and visibly moved, was a moment of full-circle glory for a woman whose career and identity have been intrinsically tied to her roots.
President Osmani shared the news via a formal statement on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
'Welcome back home, Dua! Today, by presidential decree, I had the honor of granting the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo to one of the most iconic cultural figures in our country's history, @DUALIPA. Dua and Kosovo have always been inseparable. From the world's biggest stages to the hearts of millions, she's carried our story with strength, pride, and grace. She's pushed boundaries, made history, and reminded the world that greatness begins with knowing who you are and where you come from. Our gratitude is endless for everything Dua has done, and continues to do for Kosovo.'
This isn't just symbolic. It's historic. While Dua Lipa was born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents and has long been a vocal advocate for her heritage, the formal recognition of her as a Kosovar citizen by the highest office in the country signifies a deeper institutional embrace of cultural pride and diasporic identity.
'She's Always Been Ours'
Kosovo's citizens didn't need a piece of paper to claim Dua Lipa as one of their own. But the decree adds official recognition to a relationship that's been thriving for years. Lipa has repeatedly used her platform to spotlight Kosovo Albania, and the broader Balkan region, whether through her music, her style, or her philanthropic work.
Alongside her father, Dukagjin Lipa, she co-founded the Sunny Hill Foundation, a Kosovo-based nonprofit aimed at supporting youth and the arts. The organization is best known for producing the Sunny Hill Festival, a major music event held in Pristina that has drawn international talent like Miley Cyrus, Calvin Harris, and Diplo to the small Balkan nation. Lipa has frequently described the festival as one of her proudest accomplishments, calling it a love letter to Kosovo.
A Cultural Force on the Global Stage
From her breakout self-titled album to her Grammy-winning disco revival Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa has consistently infused her career with pride for her heritage. She has spoken openly about growing up in a London household shaped by war, migration, and resilience, and how her identity has informed her music, politics, and sense of self.
Her third studio album, Radical Optimism, has only solidified her status as a voice of global youth. But behind the pop anthems and chart domination is a woman deeply connected to her lineage, one who has never once distanced herself from the story of her people.

I Tried The Skin-Renewing SPF Dua Lipa Takes On Holiday – And My Skin's Never Been Happier
We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, HuffPost UK may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication. As a pale, ginger Scottish person, if there's one thing that's a complete and utter non-negotiable in my skin care routine, it's a brilliant SPF. The problem is though, not all sunscreens and suncreams are created equally. Some feel greasy and seep through your make-up, others clog your pores and result in a summer of pimples that just won't quit. And then, god forbid, you accidentally buy an SPF that isn't sweat proof and you end up with a burn. If there's one person I'll trust the judgement of, however, when it comes to holiday skin care (although we should be wearing SPF all year round people!), it's the queen of vacationing herself, Dua Lipa. And fortunately, on her recent trip to Sicily, the New Rules singer gave us a glimpse of her holiday essentials – with one notable skincare product making the cut. In the background of a holiday snap of an Aperol spritz shared to Instagram, we can see Dua has been using Augustinus Bader's new SPF product, The Suncreen SPF 50. I've written before about the wonder brand that is Augustinus Bader – the skin care company whose products Dua Lipa has reported that she 'can't live without', so much so that their Eye Patches and The Rich Cream have a permanent place in her handbag. It's no surprise then that the singer has opted for the brand's latest product as her preferred sun protection. The brand has a serious celebrity fanbase – Victoria Beckham, recently collaborated with them on her own skincare line and concealer. Alexa Chung and Margot Robbie are fans of the skincare's patented TFC8® technology too – a proprietary blend of natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and peptides that supports the body's capacity to renew. So naturally, if it's good enough for that list of stars, I was willing to try it out. The lightweight broad-spectrum sunscreen is non-greasy and fast absorbing – a welcome escape from other sticky formulas. Given that the brand markets their SPF as suncare meets skincare, it promises to protect you from UVA and UVB ray s as well as renewing your skin at the same time – both of which I found super effectively when I tried it out for myself. From having tried out (and now permanently using) Augustinus Bader's award-winning Rich Cream, I know that my skin drinks up their TFC8 blend and looks better for it – and The Sunscreen had the exact same effect. My skin looks lifted, fresher and I feel great about going make up free – and most importantly, there's no chance of my face getting burnt. I'm lazy at the best of times when it comes to my skincare routine, so having a product that does the work of a serum, a moisturiser and an SPF all in one is my kind of product. When I do wear foundation over the SPF, the sunscreen doesn't seep through – leaving my base looking flawless (if I do say so myself x) all day. Although the product comes with a hefty price tag, what I will say for The Suncreen is that a little goes a LONG way and for all the celeb hype surrounding Augustinus Bader, it certainly lives up to it!

Dua Lipa Proposes the Perfect Festival Outfit at Sunny Hill
Dua Lipa kicked off her festival, Sunny Hill, in Kosovo with much to celebrate. This week, the pop star was granted Kosovo citizenship. It 'feels like my two sides are now one,' she said. 'It completes the duality I have always had within. I love this country and this means so much to me and my family.' The ceremony, led by President Vjosa Osmani, saw a choir of children sing Lipa's own song 'Levitating.' She wore a chocolate brown, sculptural leather mini dress from Ferragamo, with Paris Texas pumps, and a red shoulder bag. Then, it was straight into three days of partying at Sunny Hill, where Lipa brought a Glastonbury-coded wardrobe. Photographed speaking to a fan, the Radical Optimism singer wore a white and black graphic Sunny Hill festival t-shirt, with blue Re/Done frayed denim shorts and a Chrome Hearts western black and gold belt, with a favorite pair of Miu Miu black leather buckle boots. Lipa headlined the Friday night of the fest, with other acts including Shawn Mendes, Fatboy Slim, and Peggy Gou. Her costumes continued the glamorous, glitzy thread of her Radical Optimism tour, where she donned custom Attico mini dresses and Jean Paul Gaultier bustiers, a sheer, sexy bridal Balenciaga gown and a show-stopping Chanel bodysuit that paid homage to archival dress worn by Christy Turlington in the '90s. For Sunny Hill, she opted for a silver and white Dilara Fındıkoğlu bra and corset with silvery fringes and a glittery burgundy bodysuit with tassels. After her performance at Sunny Hill in Prishtina on Friday, Lipa wrote on Instagram: 'Sharing this night with you all, in the city that shaped me, surrounded by so much energy, joy, and pride…it's hard to put into words what it means.'

Sabrina Carpenter's Man's Best Friend Tracklist Is Here and It's Petty, Perfect, and Absolutely Deranged
Sabrina Carpenter is in her pop provocateur era, doggedly defiant, scandalously cheeky, and completely unbothered. After nearly breaking the internet with her single 'Manchild' and igniting a culture war with her risqué album cover, the 25-year-old pop phenom has now unveiled the full tracklist for her highly anticipated sixth studio album, Man's Best Friend, due August 29. And let's just say: she's not playing nice. A Tracklist Tailored to Chaos Carpenter revealed the titles of the album's songs one by one over the past week, orchestrating a cheeky scavenger hunt that involved fans posting selfies with puppies and holding signs showing off the individual track names. It was playful, intimate, and unmistakably Sabrina. Today, the full 12-song lineup was finally unleashed in its entirety. Here's the complete tracklist for Man's Best Friend: Manchild Tears My Man on Willpower Sugar Talking We Broke Up Again Last Night Nobody's Son Never Getting Laid When Did You Get Hot? Go Go Juice Don't Worry I'll Make You Worry House Tour Goodbye With song titles that read like messy texts from a relationship autopsy, the album promises a cocktail of romantic disillusionment, sarcastic rage, and emotional chaos all tied together with Carpenter's now-trademark wink. 'Manchild' Sets the Tone and the Charts on Fire The album's lead single 'Manchild' dropped in early June and instantly set the tone for what Man's Best Friend is about: toxic relationships, immaturity, and the feminine art of calling bulls**t with a catchy hook. Written alongside frequent collaborators Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff, who helped sculpt the sound of 2024's Short n' Sweet, 'Manchild' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her second chart-topper following 'Please, Please, Please.' The hit blends bubblegum melodies with biting commentary, a balance Carpenter has perfected in recent years as she's stepped fully into her pop star power. The Controversial Cover: Canine Allegory or Cultural Grenade? While Carpenter's music has been celebrated for its fearless femininity, it's the album cover of Man's Best Friend that truly set tongues wagging. The original artwork depicts Carpenter on all fours, being yanked by the hair by a man in a suit, imagery that sparked immediate online outrage, accusations of misogyny, kink-baiting, and even religious offense. In typical Sabrina fashion, she responded not with an apology but with art and shade. She dropped an alternative black-and-white cover showing her peacefully resting her head on the shoulder of a suited man. Her caption? 'here is a new alternative cover approved by God.' A Pop Star Who Knows Her Audience and Her Moment Sabrina Carpenter's rise from Disney darling to Gen Z's reigning pop antihero hasn't been accidental. With every glittery diss track and tongue-in-cheek video, she continues to rewrite the rules of mainstream pop stardom. And she does so with a firm grasp on social media virality, the cultural zeitgeist, and how to turn backlash into Billboard domination. In a tweet celebrating the full tracklist reveal, Carpenter gushed, 'thank you to all my beautiful perfect fans that helped me reveal the tracklist for Man's Best Friend the final track reveal is… track #2 'Tears' can't believe the album will be in your ears in exactly 4 weeks ♡' If the public response to Manchild and her last record is any indication, Man's Best Friend won't just be heard, it'll be felt, fought over, and probably memed to oblivion.
