The 27-year-old Ennis (33-0-0-1 with 29 knockouts) won the vacant IBF interim welterweight crown in January 2023 with a unanimous decision victory over Karen Chukhadzhian. He retained that title in July 2023 with a 10th-round knockout win over Roiman Villa. Ennis was elevated to full champion status in November 2023 when the sanctioning body stripped Terence Crawford of the belt not long after Crawford unified the welterweight titles with a win over Errol Spence Jr.
In his first defense of the IBF crown, Ennis defeated David Avanesyan when the fight was halted before the start of the sixth round. In his most recent outing, Ennis defeated Chukhadzhian by decision in a rematch in November 2024.

The 30-year-old Stanionis (15-0-0-1 with nine knockouts) won the WBA crown in April 2022 with a split-decision victory over Radzhab Butaev. Stanionis did not fight again until May 2024, after three fights against Vergil Ortiz Jr. were canceled.
Stanionis was forced out of the first scheduled fight with Ortiz in early 2023 because of an emergency appendectomy. Ortiz withdrew from the rescheduled contest in March of that year because of rhabdomyolysis, a serious muscle condition. Then, in July, the fight was again scratched at the last minute because of dehydration.
Stanionis defended his title in May 2024 with a unanimous decision win over Gabriel Maestre.
When odds opened for the upcoming title unification contest, Ennis was a -430 betting favorite over the +310 Stanionis. Those odds have moved considerably. Today, Ennis is a -700 favorite over the +400 Stanionis.

Daniel Dubois splits from trainer after second heavyweight loss to Oleksandr Usyk

LONDON (AP) — Former world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has split with his trainer, saying Tuesday he needs 'a fresh approach' after losing to Oleksandr Usyk last month for a second time. Dubois started working with Don Charles before the first loss to Usyk in August 2023 and has been in the Briton's corner on Dubois' journey to becoming the IBF titleholder and then retaining the belt by overpowering Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium in September last year. Dubois was dismantled by Usyk in the second defense of the IBF crown back at Wembley, when he was knocked out in the fifth round. In a post on Instagram, the 27-year-old Londoner thanked Charles for his hard work and said he was 'truly grateful for everything.' 'That said,' Dubois wrote, 'I feel it's time for a change, a fresh approach for the next phase of my career, as I push forward to become a two-time heavyweight champion of the world.' Dubois said he'd be making an announcement about his new training team 'very soon.' ___ AP boxing: The Associated Press

Anthony Cacace calls out rival and insists "he will fold"

Anthony Cacace calls out rival and insists "he will fold" originally appeared on The Sporting News IBO world super-featherweight champion Anthony Cacace has called out American rival Raymond Ford, following the the southpaw's unanimous decision win over Abraham Nova — who stepped in as a late replacement for Cacace — on Saturday, August 16 in Riyadh. 36 from Belfast, 'The Apache' Cacace was originally set to face New Jersey's Ford in Saudi Arabia, in the undercard of Itauma-Whyte, but was forced to withdraw due to a back strain. Instead, the Northern Irishman was a spectator as the 26-year-old 'Savage' took his professional record to 18-1-1 with a victory over Puerto Rican 'Super Nova' in his second appearance in Riyadh, after losing to Nick Ball in June 2024 in their WBA featherweight title fight. But the IBO world titleholder Cacace was not impressed by the man he missed out on the chance to take on. The 36-year-old wrote on social media: "Ray Ford, a typical American fighter, can talk the talk, but the guy has no engine. If pushed, he will fold." The Belfast boxer fancies his chances more than ever in a fight with Ford, who won 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93 on the judges' scorecards on Saturday night. Cacace last fought in May when he stopped Leigh Wood in the ninth round of their IBO World Super Featherweight title fight, having having vacated his IBF belt in January. Cacace has now defeated three British world champions in a row - Leigh Wood, Josh Warrington, Joe Cordina - all within a year between May 2024 to May 2025. His sole career defeat came eight years ago when the Irish and Celtic champion stepped up to challenge for the British and Commonwealth super-featherweight belts and was decisioned unanimously by Martin J Ward. He has since win nine bouts in a row - seven of which were title fights - winning the British belt, as well as IBO and IBF world titles.

fuboTV (FUBO) Stock Is Up, What You Need To Know

What Happened? Shares of live sports and TV streaming service fuboTV (NYSE:FUBO) jumped 4.3% in the afternoon session after it announced two major international content partnerships to strengthen its premium sports lineup in key global markets. The sports-first streaming platform forged a multi-year partnership with DAZN in Canada, bringing marquee rights like the NFL and UEFA Champions League to its subscribers. This expands on an existing distribution agreement in the U.S. In a separate deal, Fubo's subsidiary in France, Molotov, secured a carriage agreement with Ligue 1, France's professional soccer league, for the 2025/2026 season. These agreements significantly broaden Fubo's premium live sports content in key international markets, strengthening its global strategy. The shares closed the day at $3.78, up 4.1% from previous close. Is now the time to buy fuboTV? Access our full analysis report here, it's free. What Is The Market Telling Us fuboTV's shares are extremely volatile and have had 61 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business. The previous big move we wrote about was 10 days ago when the stock gained 5% on the news that the company reported a drop in subscribers and a year-over-year revenue decline for its second quarter, which overshadowed beats on profit and revenue expectations. The sports-focused streaming platform saw its domestic subscribers fall by 94,000 year-over-year to 1.36 million. Total revenue also dipped by 2.8% to $380 million. Despite these declines, the results were not all negative. Fubo posted an adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.05, reversing a loss from the same quarter last year and beating analyst estimates. It also generated a positive Adjusted EBITDA of $20.67 million, another bright spot in the report. However, investors appeared to focus more on the shrinking subscriber base and revenue, which are critical performance indicators for streaming services. fuboTV is up 167% since the beginning of the year, but at $3.77 per share, it is still trading 31% below its 52-week high of $5.46 from January 2025. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of fuboTV's shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $359.05.
