2026 QB Bryson Beaver decommits from Boise State following Oregon Ducks offer
The Oregon Ducks extended an intriguing scholarship offer on Thursday night, reaching out to Boise State Broncos quarterback commit Bryson Beaver, a 3-star recruit in the 2026 class. After watching Beaver throw in a recruiting camp, the Ducks started courting him and extended the offer.
Less than a day later, Beaver has reportedly decommitted from Boise State and opened up his recruitment once again.
Beaver, who stands at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1,092 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 72 quarterback. On3 rates his as the No. 22 QB, though. He had been committed to the Boise State Broncos since April of this year but has been picking up some interest from other schools.
Per his 247Sports profile, Beaver was also visited by Ohio State Buckeyes' coach Billy Fessler last month. Beaver currently has offers from the likes of Boise State, Utah, Hawaii, Nevada, California, and UNLV, among others.
The Ducks are in on 5-star QB Ryder Lyons, who is visiting this weekend in Eugene but are expected to try and get another 2026 QB as well since Lyons plans to take an LDS mission after high school and won't enroll until 2027; no matter where he commits.

Steelers Already Name Rookie a Starter: ‘He's Really Wired In'

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Derrick Harmon at OTAs on May 28, 2025. -- Ed Thompson / Steelers Now The Pittsburgh Steelers have already named one of their rookies a starter for the 2025 NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, but the team has already named one of its rookies a starter. Advertisement Steelers defensive line coach Karl Dunbar revealed rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is already running with the first-team defense. 'He goes out there with the ones,' Dunbar said. 'He's our left starting defensive tackle. You can write that.' Harmon, 21, was Pittsburgh's first-round pick (No. 21 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft after wreaking havoc in opposing backfields for the Oregon Ducks. In 2024, the 6-foot-4 1/2, 313-pound defensive tackle recorded 45 tackles, five sacks and a pair of forced and recovered fumbles. (AP Photo/Lydia Ely) Harmon is likely being relied upon to take the place of veteran Larry Ogunjobi, who was released in March. And the Steelers are already seeing what they hoped to from the rookie at the beginning stages of the offseason program. Advertisement 'You can tell whether or not they're in shape, and I think he's done a good job of bringing himself into camp in some kind of shape,' Dunbar said. 'I think he's really wired in.' At this point, the only major concern with Harmon seems to be centered around his shoulder. A MRI at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine showed a partially torn rotator cuff and a torn labrum. However, general manager Omar Khan and head coach Mike Tomlin dismissed any worries regarding the issue. 'We wouldn't have picked him unless our medical staff was comfortable with it,' Khan said. Harmon reiterated a similar sentiment, too. Advertisement 'I don't know man, I'm fully healthy ready to go,' he said. 'I don't have no concerns. I'm ready to get to work.' In his three seasons of college football, Harmon did not miss a single game due to injury. He played 38 games. Wisconsin Secures Commitment From Versatile DB Zachary Taylor

Wisconsin Secures Commitment From Versatile DB Zachary Taylor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After over a week without an addition to its 2026 class, the Wisconsin football team got back on the board with the commitment of 3-star defensive back Zachary Taylor (Katy, Texas). Advertisement Pulling Taylor out of Texas wasn't going to be easy, but he took an official visit to Wisconsin at the start of the month, and the Badgers took advantage of his time in Madison. Beyond Wisconsin, Taylor's official visits included West Virginia, Texas Tech, Pitt, and Houston. He ultimately chose the Badgers over the other four programs. The newest Wisconsin commit announced his pledge to the Badgers via his social media. With a background as a multi-sport athlete that includes track and soccer, Taylor's athleticism has the Wisconsin football staff extremely excited, and they anticipate he'll develop into a standout player. Advertisement He is a versatile player who has played both cornerback and safety in high school. Although he is listed as a cornerback on 247Sports, the Wisconsin staff views him as a safety. Zachary Taylor in the Recruiting Rankings Though currently rated as a 3-star prospect by major recruiting services, Taylor is a perfect example of the type of player whose ranking could significantly improve, possibly reaching 4-star status by the end of his senior year. But as of right now, here is where he falls on the major recruiting websites. 247Sports 247Sports probably has the highest rating on Taylor, albeit as a cornerback. But a rating of 89 is a borderline 4-star player on its rating scale. The 247Sports Composite has him as the 439th-overall player in the country and the 43rd-ranked cornerback. Advertisement Rivals Similar to 247Sports, Rivals has Taylor as a borderline 4-star player. Their 5.7 rating for the new Wisconsin football commit is the highest rating a 3-star prospect can get before hitting 5.8, which would give him a fourth star. The recruiting site does not have him in any national, state, or positional rankings. On3 On3 is the site lowest on Taylor. They have him as a 3-star prospect as well and a rating of just 85.95. 3-star prospects fall in the 80-89 range. They have him as the 926th-overall prospect in the 2026 class and the 83rd-ranked safety. Where the Wisconsin Football Recruiting Class Stands With the Addition of Taylor Zachary Taylor's commitment pushed the 2026 class to 12 players for the Wisconsin football program. The addition of Taylor gives the Badgers a nice little boost, pushing them from 40th to 33rd in the 247Sports Team Rankings as it currently stands. Advertisement Taylor also becomes the Bagders' top-ranked player in the class according to the 247Sports rankings. With just 12 committed players, the Wisconsin football team still has plenty of work to do in filling out the rest of this class. 4-star running back Amari Latimer is a top target for the team, and there are still a few targets at wide receiver, including Jayden Petit, Zachary Washington, and Zion Legree. Recruiting may have slowed down a bit, but there are still things coming in the near future. 2026 4-star RB re-affirms his commitment to Texas A&M

This weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff are hosting 18 prospects from the 2026 recruiting class, including six commitments in the cycle, providing another opportunity to capitalize on the program's early success in landing recruits in four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who are both being heavily pursued by other programs this summer. Hatton was previously committed to Oklahoma before re-opening his recruitment and ultimately committing to the Aggies in late March. However, the Sooners are still attempting to reel him back in, as the Cibolo (TX) native will take an official visit to Oklahoma on June 20. Still, over the past two months after his commitment, including this weekend's official visit, Hatton is completely locked in ahead of Early Signing Day in December. Advertisement On Saturday morning, Hatton reaffirmed his commitment to Texas A&M, releasing a video on social media (X) while sending a subtle message that his alliance with the Aggies remains strong, even with his OV to Oklahoma just a couple of weeks away. On the field, Hatton is an elite runner with the vision, footwork, and upfield burst to become a star at the next level, having produced 1,229 yards and 20 touchdowns while averaging 9.17 yards per carry. With Le'Veon Moss leaving after the 2025 season, bringing Hatton into the backfield lineup will provide immediate depth in 2026. According to 247Sports Composite, Hatton is currently positioned as the 77th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-ranked running back, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Texas.
