Neeraj Chopra set a new personal and national record with a 90.23m throw at the Doha Diamond League 2025. Check his top 10 throws here.
Neeraj Chopra threw a stunning 90.23 metres in the Doha Diamond League 2025 on Friday (May 16), breaching the elusive 90-metre mark for the first time.
It wasn't enough for him to win the Men's Javelin Throw Event as German Julian Weber stunned the world with a 91.06 in his last of six attempts, beating the Indian by the narrowest of margins. However, it was still one for the record books as the Indian bested his own personal and the National record for the sport.
His previous best came on June 30, 2022, at the Stockholm Diamond League in Sweden — 89.94 meters. The mark was both Neeraj's personal best and the men's national record in India.
Over the course of two weeks in 2024, he made his next three greatest throws. His next two best throws, 89.45m and 89.34m, respectively, occurred at the Lausanne Diamond League javelin throw final and qualification event for the 2024 Summer Olympics, while his second-best throw of 89.49m earned him second place at the Lausanne Diamond League.

He became the most successful individual Indian Olympian after winning a silver medal for his throw in the Paris final.
Neeraj Chopra also held the three previous national records: 89.30m at the 2022 Paavo Nurmi Games, 88.07m at the 2021 Indian Grand Prix 3 in Patiala, and 88.06m at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
Neeraj Chopra threw an 88.77-meter throw in the qualifying round of the 2023 World Athletics Championships, which was his highest throw to date. His 88.13-meter effort in the 2022 final earned India a historic silver medal. Neeraj Chopra won another historic medal for India, this time a gold one, with a javelin throw of 88.17 meters at the 2023 world championships.

The Norway Chess format gives three points for a classical win. In the event of a draw, the players share one point each, which is followed by the Armageddon tie-break, where the winner earns another half point. Michael Clarke picks IPL youngster for big role in India's Test vs England, snubs Karun Nair: ‘This kid is a superstar'
Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke feels that India should go with Sai Sudharsan at the number 3 position for the upcoming Test series against England. Virat Kohli's retirement has left India with a challenging void to fill at the No. 4 spot in the Test lineup, and newly appointed captain Shubman Gill has emerged as the frontrunner to take on that responsibility. With Gill expected to shift down to No. 4, India must now identify a reliable option to slot in at No. 3 — a position he had made his own over the past few years. Clarke advised India to use Sai Sudharsan at the crucial number 3 spot as he is confident that the left-handed batter will definitely get an opportunity on England tour.
