Over 20k attend Mega DSC-2025 exam on Day 1
VIJAYAWADA: A total of 14,281 candidates (88.69% of the 16,102 registered aspirants) appeared in the morning session of the Mega DSC 2025 held across 91 centres on Friday. A total of 7,611 candidates (86.7% of the total registered) attended the examination, conducted at 51 centres in the afternoon session. The computer-based examination process to fill 16,347 teacher posts commenced smoothly and witnessed an encouraging response from aspiring teachers. The exams will continue till June 30. Kadapa records highest DSC attendance HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, in a message on X, described the moment as a proud one and conveyed his best wishes to the candidates, calling them the 'Teachers of tomorrow.' Mega DSC Convenor MV Krishna Reddy said Kadapa district reported the highest attendance with 91.1% in the morning and 92% in the afternoon session. Authorities ensured elaborate arrangements at all examination centres. Candidates were allowed to enter exam centres an hour before the test began, and entry was strictly closed post 9:00 am. District Collectors, DEOs, and state-level observers monitored the entire process through command control rooms set up at district headquarters and the state level. Officials confirmed that the first day of the examination concluded peacefully and without incident.

DSC online exams begin smoothly in Tirupati
Tirupati: The District Selection Committee (DSC) online examinations commenced on Friday and will continue until June 30 across the district. On the first day, Tirupati District Collector Dr S Venkateswar inspected one of the examination centres – Annamacharya Institute of Technology, Venkatapuram, to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the exams. During his visit, the Collector thoroughly reviewed the examination management and assessed the infrastructure provided for the candidates. He expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of exams at all centres across the district. In view of the ongoing summer conditions, the Collector examined key facilities such as drinking water, medical camps, and basic amenities. He instructed officials to keep Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets and emergency medicines readily available to provide immediate medical care if needed. To maintain transparency and uphold examination integrity, the Collector issued strict directions to the staff to prevent any malpractice. He was accompanied by District Education Officer (DEO) KVN Kumar during the inspection. According to the DEO, the DSC exams are being conducted at eight centres across the district. On the first day, exams were held at four centres in two shifts. In the morning session, 509 out of 573 registered candidates appeared, while in the afternoon shift, 508 out of 570 candidates attended. Meanwhile, the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) extended support to the candidates by distributing buttermilk at the examination centres. TNSF Tirupati Parliament President Kotte Hemanth Royal, along with members Nanda Kishore, Gnanesh, Seenu, Aravind, Vishnu, and others, took part in the initiative. Speaking on the occasion, Hemanth applauded the NDA government's decision to fill 16,347 teacher posts through the DSC recruitment drive. He noted that this move would enable qualified candidates to begin working as government school teachers from the upcoming academic year, marking a significant step in strengthening the public education system.

DSC examinations begin across the state
1 2 3 Visakhapatnam: The mega district selection committee (DSC) teacher recruitment exams began across the state on Friday. Thousands of candidates attended the TGT (trained graduate teacher) exam in two sessions. In the morning session, exams for TGT (non-language) were conducted at 91 centres across the state. Out of 16,102 applicants, 14,281 candidates appeared, recording an attendance rate of 88.69%. In the afternoon session, exams for TGT (non-language) continued at 51 centres. Of the 8,790 registered candidates, 7,611 appeared, marking an attendance of 86.7%. District-wise, the highest attendance in the morning was reported in Kadapa (91.1%), while in the afternoon, Nellore district registered the highest attendance at 92%. According to candidates, 60-70% of the questions were more difficult than expected. For example, the maths TGT paper included several questions on advanced trigonometry. The exam reported no untoward incidents, apart from some candidates arriving late and being denied entry to the centres. Some candidates found it difficult to locate the centres, as these are mostly situated far from or outside the cities. According to officials, the computer-based tests will continue till June 30, in two sessions every day.
