Mohit Suri reveals he called uncle Mahesh Bhatt for advice on Saiyaara: 'I said, I am feeling a little unsure'
Mohit Suri
's most recent film, Saiyaara, has gained immense popularity. Newcomers
Ahaan Panday
and
Aneet Padda
starred in the movie, and as a result of its success, they have also become huge stars.
As Saiyaara continues its box office run, Mohit recently discussed love, loss and of course, Saiyaara.
He recalled how, when he was unclear about a particular scene in the movie, he called his uncle,
Mahesh Bhatt
, for guidance.
Mohit's mother, Heena, is Mahesh Bhatt's sister, making him the filmmaker's nephew. Mohit has frequently worked under Mahesh's guidance, and he turned to his uncle and mentor for support when he was having doubts during the Saiyaara filming.
When Mohit Suri was performing the scene with the actors, he felt it was becoming too dramatic, referring to the scene in Saiyaara where Ahaan Panday's father gets violent with him.
Mohit told News18, 'At 7 in the morning the next day, I was going to shoot the scene. I sent a missed call to Bhatt saab. He was up at 4 in the morning, and he called me up. I said, 'I am feeling a little unsure, they're very nice people. I think I'm being a little too dramatic.'

He has no idea about my script."
'All I've told him is the scene where the son gets violent with his father, he's an alcoholic. Bhatt saab just cut me off. He said a couple of swear words to me; that's him. I didn't realise that my profile picture was of my son's hand in my hand. He just said that the way you're holding your son's hand in a close-up, the kind of emotion you feel towards your son, no matter how, go shoot this scene, it's never going to have a wrong emotional connect," Mohit recalled.
Mohit said that Bhatt mentioned, 'The son-father bond is too pure for you. How can the same person who has a DP like this even ask me this question? Go shoot it the way you want." Mohit Suri listened and paid heed to this advice and it turned out to be one of the scenes that Aditya Chopra loved most.
Saiyaara, on the other hand, has moved viewers all over the world. The movie's worldwide total now exceeds Rs 500 crore, while its Indian box office receipts have surpassed Rs 300 crore. Alongside Ahaan and Aneet, the ensemble cast includes Alam Khan, Sid Makkar, Shaan Groverr, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola.

Raj Kundra offers kidney to Premanand Maharaj, gets trolled: ‘Strange world we live in'
Amid Rs 60 crore fraud allegations, actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, visited spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan. A video of their visit was shared online on the guru's official channels. In the video, Raj offers one of his kidneys to the guru, whose own two kidneys are compromised. His statement quickly went viral, with many calling it a PR stunt. Premanand Maharaj also counts actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli as his disciples. In a video shared by the YouTube channel Bhajan Marg, Raj Kundra can be heard saying, 'I have been following you since the past two years. You have been all over social media. When I was coming here, I was constantly thinking 'What do I question him?' And whatever questions appeared in my head, you would answer them through Instagram. Today's youth and the entire society has been following you. Your teachings are so helpful. Right now, I have no questions to ask. But, I do know that you have a failed kidney since the past two decades, I just want to say if I can ever be a help to you then I want to donate a kidney of mine to you.' Premanand replied with a laugh, 'Please, no. You stay healthy and happy… that's all I want. By God's grace, I am doing just fine.' After severe backlash, Raj took to his social media handles to share a note addressing his trolls. He wrote, 'Strange world we live in when someone chooses to offer a part of themselves to save another's life, it's mocked as a PR stunt. If compassion is a stunt, may the world see more of it. If humanity is a strategy, may more people adopt it. I'm not defined by labels the media or trolls throw at me. My past does not cancel my present choices, and my present intentions are not for you to measure with your cynicism.' He concluded his note with the line, 'Judge less, love more you might just save a life too.' This, too, received backlash with many trolling him for his current association with Rs 60 crore fraud. It is reported that Raj and Shilpa have defrauded a Mumbai-based businessman for nearly Rs 61 crore. However, in a statement, the couple called the allegations 'baseless and malicious.'
