Boxer Gervonta 'Tank' Davis jailed in Florida on domestic violence, battery charges
The professional boxer was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Florida Friday, the records say. A bond amount has yet to be set.
The arrest marks the latest chapter in Davis' legal troubles.
He was placed under house arrest in June 2023 after he entered a guilty plea in a hit-and-run crash that left four people injured in November 2020. Davis later violated the terms of his sentence and was jailed for the remainder of his sentence.
According to police, Davis and the alleged victim were in a romantic relationship for several years and share two children.
According to the report, Davis arrived at his ex-girlfriend's home with the intention of picking up their children. However, an argument ensued.
Davis reportedly instructed the unnamed woman to remove the children from his vehicle and said he no longer intended to take them with him. The dispute eventually escalated into a physical altercation, according to police.
Authorities said Davis refused to fill out a Miranda warning form once he arrived at a police department Friday.
Davis had a 30-0 record until his bout against Lamont Roach Jr. ended in a draw.

4 arrested in break-in at Brad Pitt's home, other residences, sources say
Four people have been arrested in a series of burglaries that included the home of actor Brad Pitt, law enforcement sources told The Times. The suspects were arrested in a series of burglaries across Los Angeles — some of which targeted celebrities, including the Los Feliz home of Pitt, according to two law enforcement sources. Los Angeles police said the arrests were made in the 77th Division in South L.A. on Thursday evening. Pitt's home was broken into June 25 while the movie star was away promoting his new film "F1: The Movie." Los Angeles police officials said a break-in at a home occurred around 10:30 that night. At least three suspects scaled the security fence at Pitt's house and smashed a window before entering, making 'a real mess' and stealing some items, according to sources who were not authorized to discuss the case. A former staffer at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Edward Coristine, 19, has come to be known for the nickname he gave himself on LinkedIn, 'Big Balls.' He was assaulted over the weekend in Washington, D.C., earning him admiration from a host of Fox News' Gutfeld! 'Instead of calling him 'Big Balls,' we should call him by his name; we should revere him,' Gutfeld! co-host and former professional wrestler Tyrus said. According to a police report obtained by Politico, Coristine was accosted by two teenagers who threatened to steal his car on Sunday morning. After ushering a female companion into the car, Coristine faced the teenagers and ended up severely bloodied. Elon Musk, however, has claimed that Coristine was actually trying to save the woman from being carjacked and that there were more than two attackers. Tyrus said that Coristine's behavior should serve as a model for other young men. 'For this young man to be so courageous, you have to almost be, like, this should be the norm,' he said. He went on to claim that Coristine's beatdown is an antidote to the erosion of masculinity among Gen Z. 'The problem is we've worked so hard to water men down ... and the ones who suffer the most are women,' the co-host said. 'We need to praise this man, and we need to praise more young men for getting involved because men, it's time to get back in the game.' President Trump also expressed support for Coristine, posting a long Truth Social screed on Tuesday that included a picture of the teenager's bloodied body. Calling Coristine an 'incredible young man,' Trump wrote that crime in D.C. was rampant and that 'the most recent victim was beaten mercilessly by local thugs.' On Wednesday, Trump said on Truth Social that he had called the 'beautiful, handsome' young man to commend him on surviving his ordeal. Coristine shot to prominence earlier this year as one of Musk's young and brazen staffers at DOGE, where he worked on slashing government aid programs and launching the 'gold card' visa project—which will ostensibly offer U.S. citizenship for the small price of $5 million. His nickname originated on LinkedIn, where he said that too many people take themselves 'super seriously.' In June, he 'DOGE'd himself,' resigning from the government without explanation.
