Ashok Saraf recalls a near-fatal throat injury during a Jaagruti scene with Salman Khan.
Veteran actor Ashok Saraf, widely loved for his comic timing, once stepped into the shoes of a villain in Salman Khan's 1992 film Jaagruti. But playing the bad guy came with unexpected risks. In a recent chat with Radia Nasha Official, Saraf revealed a frightening incident on set where he nearly got seriously hurt during a scene involving a real knife.
Saraf shared, 'He was holding my throat with a knife and it was a real knife. Uski jo nok hoti hai woh kaat ke gayi aise… As soon as we started saying the dialogues, I tried to escape from his hands. Salman zor se daba rahe the and then I said, 'Dheere se dabaao, katt raha hai yahan par.'"
He went on to explain how he advised Salman to ease up: 'He then asked me what he should do, maine bola ulta pakdo na. He said that the camera is facing towards us, dikh jaayega usme, then maine socha chhorro. We did the scene and when I saw later, there was a deep cut on my throat. Agar yahan ki nass katt jaati toh hum udhar hi…Main kabhi nahi bhoolunga. I am not sure if he (Salman) remembers this. Aise aadmi kisi ko yaad nahi rehte, bhool jaate hain."
Jaagruti starred Salman Khan alongside Karisma Kapoor, Shiva Rindani, Pankaj Dheer, Prem Chopra, and Ashok Saraf himself. The film had a mixed reception at the box office, performing moderately.
Salman and Ashok have shared screen space in many films, including hits like Karan Arjun, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, and Bandhan.
On the career front, Salman Khan recently appeared in the action drama Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. He's gearing up for the sequel to his 2012 blockbuster Kick, which was officially announced in October. Salman is also working on a film centered on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict, directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

Prince Harry Hit This Royal Family Member During An Argument In 2013, Gave Him A Bloody Nose

A new book by Andrew Lownie claimed that Prince Andrew and Harry had a heated argument in 2013 at a family gathering over something "Andrew said behind Harry's back." A new book has revealed that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, had a heated argument with Prince Harry at a family gathering in 2013 in which 'punches were thrown". The book, called Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, claimed that the two princes got into a physical fight years ago over 'something Andrew said behind Harry's back". The book's author, Andrew Lownie, shed light on the 'problematic" relationship between the Duke of York and his nephews, William and Harry. Excerpts quoted by The Telegraph claimed that Harry 'got the better of Andrew by all accounts" during the alleged fight and left his uncle with a 'bloody nose" before the fight was broken up. Prince Andrew, King Charles' younger brother, who fell from grace over his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, is believed to have told Harry that his marriage to Meghan Markle would not 'last more than a month". Furthermore, he allegedly accused his nephew of going 'bonkers" and not doing 'any due diligence into her past" before the pair married in 2018. The source quoted in Lownie's book claimed that Harry later told his brother William that 'he hated Andrew". 'William has long worked behind the scenes to evict his uncle from Royal Lodge, the home he occupies in Windsor Great Park. He thinks Andrew is abusing the property and his privilege there," Lownie wrote. Andrew has been facing the threat of eviction from the 30-room property after the King severed his allowance, estimated to be worth £1m annually, last year, according to The Telegraph. A source in Lownie's book claimed that the Prince of Wales is keen to 'evict" Andrew and his wife from the lavish estate. These revelations came after Harry revealed in his memoir, Spare, that he got into a physical fight with his elder brother over his relationship with Meghan Markle. He claimed that Prince William shoved him to the floor in a physical altercation at Kensington Palace in 2019, when he confronted him over Markle's 'rude" and 'abrasive" behaviour. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
