‘Sacrifice': Wichita Falls to honor veterans with ceremony

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— Wichita Falls is no stranger to military members, current and retired. This Veterans Day, the City of Wichita Falls and American Legion Post 169 are hosting a ceremony to honor all those who have served. The Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Plaza. The Legacy High School Army JROTC will present the colors. Texas Senator-elect Brent Hagenbuch will be the guest speaker at the event, which will include the unveiling of the Thomas Fowler monument. Post Chaplin Michael Kurtz said this day is all about reflecting on the sacrifices made by those who serve. 'I think that's really what it boils down to; it comes back down to the sacrifice,' Kurtz said. 'It comes down to being able to reflect on our own service.'
